Hyde’s Strength Odyssey

You do dynamic deadlifts with what is probably my balls-out max right now; I don't wanna hear **** about front squats from you lol.

Good day; looking pumped and juicy. Can’t believe how easy the set with 255 was despite the handicaps.

Added 70mg of S4 per day starting yesterday, probably 5-6 days on and 1-2 days off to keep eye receptors from getting yellowed out. Should be good for some added strength without adding any significant weight or sides, and I really don’t want to battle appetite issues from a methyl or anger issues with Trendione when I’m already so strong.

I will probably pulse Metrilone nasal spray preWO 3-4 days per week starting this Friday for max deadlift, depending on how that treats me. Should help keep the waterweight and sides down.

You are turning into a beast!

Decided to take 620 with straps to generate more fatigue and it was no issue. Hitting 1,500 is probably going to come down to what I can hold day of the meet - going to keep working grip because it is improving. 1 month out.

Uric acid for the hands mate. You can get it in a cream, or you can just urinate on your hands a couple times per day.

Also, hit 750mcg Mtren nasal spray preWO. Will be doing that 3-4x a week probably. Definitely felt like it let me reach a place of necessary intensity much easier; good times!

What’s that bring your total to?

Well it’s a gym lift so it doesn’t raise my powerlifting total, but the good news is I am showing signs I am ready for a PR total when I compete December 8th!

Sucks my hookgrip is going to hold back my maximum deadlift and thus total, but my squat and bench are looking great.

Yesssssss! Congrats my dude!

Trying to catch up to you somehow

Congrats on the marriage!

Hey man thank you! Glad to see you around here!

This was big for me. A significant lifetime PR and it was screaming fast. I could have certainly done 550 instead, and almost took it after, but my left elbow was sore from the low bar and my back felt great from excellent technique so I left while I was ahead. This puts me in line for 562-573 at the meet.

Camera angle is pretty trash for depth, and the towel blocks it anyway, but you can see I’m parallel in the side mirror zoomed in at least:

Good stuff Hyde! Never a question of hitting depth for you anyway. Not with those who have followed and seen that you tend to go an extra inch or two below most of the time anyway.

Went into the session looking for 530, took 540 easy with some left in the tank. Yeaaaahhhhhhh buddy.

Thanks everyone. Definitely looking forward to going into the top half of the 500s!

Yesterday I went in and drug the sled some, some back extensions, bb rows at 225 & 255x12, and bb holds w 375 doh - grip is improving.

Weighed 251.0 today and moving speed bench to tomorrow to get a bit more sleep.

Good stuff Hyde, killing it but I expect no less! I need to dig my sled out of the garage for some of my GPP stuff since no negatives its a great way to add volume without tearing myself down.

Ive never seen you do DE work in a peak before, have I? HV is good shet. Planning on taking 1.5-2 scoops of it tomorrow.

I did the last time I competed, when I used 5th Set then as well. Specificity reigns and I can cough up a month of overhead to practice my bench one more day per week.

Interesting thing is, Swede doesn’t talk about it in the first book I had at the time, but in his Evolutions book I acquired since he does lay it out as an alternative for a lifter who does not need to add any more muscle at this time heading into comp...guess I was ahead of the curve

Today just needed to bench around 305-310, but last week’s 345 without commands moved really fast and I am 18 days out as of today - I didn’t want my last biggest bench to be 27 days out, so I exercised 5th Set’s privilege to retake a training max this week if necessary.

This was the longest I have ever strained on a benchpress and successfully made the lift, and it took every ounce of will I had, but I am now a 350lb bencher.

Yeah but it’s not like that’s historically ever worked particularly well for me, so I figured maybe it’s time to listen to someone who has gotten results for thousands of people instead of just themselves.

Thank you! Grip is feeling better and better, and the elbow is already pain-free again.

Really getting excited for the meet; it will be great to be back in competition after having my bicep repaired. I feel blessed to be in such a solid position.

I agree you are really in a great position and healed a lot faster than I expected. Oh to have youth on my side again. Not downplaying your effort and consistency with rehab and supplementation either. It's a total package you got going on there!

See you use bands sometimes and was wondering what you would recommend for reverse bands for squats. Want to add in an overload now and again and since bands are expensive looking to just get one set to start.
