Citrulline and l arginine preworkout

Hey so I have these individual tablets that I bought, as I don’t take a pre made preworkout.. I have caffeine pills and these tablets.

Well the thing is, I started with the l arginine at about 4-5g preworkout... and it’s was pretty good! Nice pumps and everything. However then I added some l citrulline as I read it can increase blood concentrations of l arginine and I thought “hey that should make the pumps better!”
But that wasn’t my experience.. I actually felt weak and everything felt heavier. And even going back to just the l arginine I still get this weak feeling. What gives? I read that too much l arginine can cause weakness, but I was taking low to moderate doses.. and even taking just 3-4g of l arginine now results in the same thing.

Is there anyway to fix this? Am I doing something wrong? Or should I just invest in a nice preworkout that has these at tested, effective doses? And if so, what preworkout do you guys use?

Oh BTW, occasionally I throw in an ephedrine cap if that means anything

I'm not a fan of pre-workout formulas, but something really simple like coffee + any source of sugar is very easy and effective pre- and intra-workout. I'm probably also biased though because I never had a problem with pumps. Is it possible the weakness is just from diet?

I am restricting calories right now on a cut, but I was still cutting when the l arginine was working. I have been keeping carbs low, but the weak feeling is around the time I dose the l arginine and l citrulline. I’ve yet, since noticing this, skipped dosing tho to see if it gets better as it’s only happened this past week and I’ve been playing with dosages. So I suppose I should just workout with some caffeine to judge the difference

Never noticed much from arginine or citrulline , but beet root is on another level for pump. Same with grape seed extract

you say you are on restricted calories? low on carbs? being lower on carbs might also make difference

if not, take some time off, and try again. try also 2:1 citrulline malate

i take 2-3gr of Arginine, and 2-3gr of l-citrulline, if not a bit more of CM.

if still doens´t work, consider it as it was just placebo. and try other stuff:

- evomuse Top Muscle
- X-gels
- nitrates/beet root extract

I would do citrulline, agamatine sulfate, glycerol and beet root for an awesome pump + vascularity stack.

Citrulline malate will give you amazing pumps and better than cialis in the bedroom

Try 9 grams citrulline malate. YOURE WELCOME

Why not Pure L-Citrulline?
Pure L-Citrulline is rarely used nowadays because a lot of the hype ended up around Cit Malate. The truth is, Citrulline Malate (the real bonded stuff) doesn’t really exist anymore, current material is cheaper than pure L-Citrulline, and most companies don’t disclose the ratio of Cit:Malate they’re using. Pure Cit has been studied at many doses and uses, with 3-5 being the general pump range.

Malate is less expensive than pure citrulline. So, gram-for-gram citrulline malate costs far less to formulate. This is likely why many supplement companies promote the use of citrulline malate over citrulline
