Good... Sit your onary ass down and keep reading haha....

One of the strongest minds on AM. You can jump straight into fasting for a week. Able to train with a volume most people wouldnt even think about. Whatever youve said your gonna do you ALWAYS do it.

Youre one tough SOB... No one can dispute that... Just focus your energy on HEALING rather than training. You'll be back in no time. And if I know you'll have some freaky unbelievable tale at the end of all this that has people saying "wow you went through that and now you're here?".... And I think this thread is the beginning of greatness. I think you will even surprise yourself and surpass your own expectations of what you're capable of.

I know youve heard all this and you're good
but I got a lotta love for you HGP...
You really are a walking miracle... From that first pic you posted with the metal detector until now its been a wild ride
Thank you! Posts like yours give me the needed power to keep going. Honestly, every day waking up and still can't sneeze -or cough, without falling apart, makes me depressive.
Will I ever be able doing dips -or push ups again? Its time that science finds a way to do bypasses through the rectum, without cutting you in half.

Short update:

Was spending my free time on reading. All about post bypass training -and sternum healing. It needs 6-8 weeks to heal.
Meaning, I have to wait 4 more weeks before I can begin training again.

Have to watch what I eat. Being at home all the time leads to "heavy snacking".
You should utilize your down time to dial in your diet. Snack on fruits and veggies.

Yeah remember that time we fasted for a week? I wouldn’t have if you hadn’t. Not a lot of people can say they did that, and it’s not got to do with anything but mental toughness. You just keep not doing something until the goal is reached.
No doubt, and hell @hairygrandpa I am heavily contemplating doing this over my next deload which should be coming in about 2.5-3 weeks. Not sure if it will be a week but if I do it, it will be no less than 3 days which seems to be what both you and @Hyde said seemed to be the logical stopping point and how long is needed to get the real benefits to kick in.

My wife is always mentioning the fast we did together. She said she never felt as good and rejuvenated in her life.
If its that beneficial, how about me doing it now, to see what it REALLY does for healing? 3 days to not push it too far... what do you think?

I would think the nutrition would help the healing process, but what do I know ?

No clue about healing, but it could definitely give you something else to focus on mentally.

3 days is enough time to really get the GH blast (read: hot flashes). I would not be worried about doing it now since it’s only 3 days, or you could wait a little longer to keep nutrients coming in.

I did my fast the last week before the doctor was going to clear me to lift upper body after my bicep repair, 10 weeks post surgery I believe. I rebounded like a motherfucker; just soaked up carbs with super super light high volume and frequency the first week and my muscles got so much more full it was awesome.

Gonna wait a few more days. Arm and leg are healed 80%. The sternum keeps bothering. Supplementing with Vit-D, Boron and calcium to help with the bone healing.

Well, I would be hard pressed to give a definitive answer there. Massive boost in GH for sure, would more than likely help with all soft tissue healing, and definitely not bad for your heart but also recovery needs building blocks so.... I guess I am a bit like your sternum at the moment... Split down the middle.

No clue about healing, but it could definitely give you something else to focus on mentally.
This is another great point, and we know you prefer extreme courses of action and that could most definitely fill that void for you. Improvement of your mental state will provide benefits that can not be overlooked here either.

Yeah this is along the same lines as my thought process although hesitant to recommend anything for certain. I do plan to use my rebound coming out of my deload. Just curious of on a week deload would it be better the first 3 days to allow the high GH levels and lack of inflammation start to heal connective tissue, then eat while still resting to allow for massive muscular recovery, or the last 3-4 days then eat bigger directly after when already lifting. I feel like the grow when at rest my dictate I should start my deload with the fast.

What do you and HGP think there?

Yeah that sternum is gonna take a bit longer being bone and not casted obviously. Also have you looked at bromelain? I feel like I read that it was great for helping bone to heal at one point, and I know it is good for inflammation.

Jesus HGP, only just caught with this and so pleased your ok brother. I’m not surprised at all that you took on a triple heart bypass and won but I’m glad you did.

I’m in for support. I’m personally finding one 24 hour fast a week beneficial.....but I’m doing it mainly for cell death rather than the gh boost (for which I’m stabbing myself with **** loads of Chinese peptides)

Stay strong as ever

I’d take vitamin k2 (mk7) with your vitamin d and calcium. It’s helps make sure the calcium goes to your bones and not your arteries.

Vit-k is a bit risky, as @NoAddedHmones pointed out. But hey, keep ideas coming, some are useful -some don't. The reason of this forum is to discuss it.

Looks sound to me, go for it!

Edit: Both ways seem to have benefits...

Had a BBQ with friends. After contemplating existence, we came to the conclusion that life is a comedy -and we are the unsuspecting actors. Question is: Is someone watching -and maybe masturbating to the unfortunate events unfolding?
If so, let me know and I gonna kick her azz.

Had a few vodkas, that always triggers a philosophical enlightenment.

I would do it on the tail end, since at the start of the deload I likely just had a big lower body session immediately prior and I want to get that tissue repair handled ASAP. Then after some easy days when repair needs aren’t high, THAT is a good time for me to forgo the calories and let my body do its thing.

The chest brace makes a huge difference. After using it one day and one night, chest feels more stable already.
Its annoying to wear -but the benefits are obvious.
Have fresh optimism. That brace, is healing my turtle shell. Gym, I'm on my way!

Chest Brace. Another step in the evolution of Hairygrandpa.

A photo of him in a chest brace and the blue shower cap. I feel like he owes it to us.

Do you feel that you're not in control of your life? Every decision is being made for you and not by you? Life is a joke and I do feel like someone is watching..

Nah, not really assuming someone is sadistically enjoying our struggles or deciding for us -but I'm aware of how ridiculous life is.

Suddenly you are born. You did not chose to be alive, it just happens. Then your priority is to stick your dick in other humans who may -or may not want you to do so.
If you eat the wrong plant you either get hallucinations -or you die horribly. If you come near the wrong animal, who lives on the same planet, you may get eaten, bitten, rammed, mauled, swallowed, stung, kicked-or even electrically shocked. You stick food into the same hole you are breathing with -and can die from choking -you also communicate using this same hole! Think a second...that is totally fugged up. I could go on for hours telling others how utterly insane life is.

You ever try dmt?
Well, I'm in the mood to open up a bit -but it may bore you all to death:
DMT is on my list! I don't have high hopes to learn anything valuable from it. It may show/help me connect more with myself -but couldn't possibly make the world more appealing/appreciable, if you know what I mean. I'm not a psychonaut but somehow got interested in trying to smooth my pessimistic outlook with some drugs, as reasoning does not help at all.
As you know, I had my first experience with MDMA just about a year ago. It curbed my misanthropy a bit -but only towards people using the same drug. Don't understand me wrong, I'm in no way suicidal or depressed. I just do not appreciate what others seem to see as "beautiful" -or even "cute". When on my farm, everything I can see is survival strategies -no happy colors but creatures trying not to get eaten -or trying to attract a mate to fugg it and eat it afterwards. The absolute insane way how nature interacts and everything is driven by the "law of the strongest".
There is no drug that could make it unseen -or less horrific, once you realized it. Mark my words.

Man dmt will give you a new outlook on life for sure it changed my whole world for the better. It thought me empathy and how to love. It may sound cliche but it is true. I was in the lowest of lows and the dmt entities gave me love.

It intrigues me how I'll react to it. I swear, I am 0% spiritual, 100% realist. My guess is that I will be full aware that everything I experience while on DMT is part of my imagination. "Entities giving me love" run the risk of being ridiculed
and probably punched on the snout if I'm able to. :)

not everything needs to be beautiful or cute. nothing wrong with seeing life for what it is.. survival of the fittest/smartest/strongest. I'm the same way as you are in this aspect and dont see it as a problem

I had a similar experience with LSD after a bad break up.

Under the influence of DMT however, I once tripped I had 4 arms, and I was testing it by passing the tv remote from my upper left hand to my lower left hand and changing the channel using both.

2 weeks ago I had a heart attack, right after training. Now recovering from triple bypass heart surgery. I'm 51.
Follow me on my journey. I gonna withstand all obstacles and keep lifting, no matter what.
To keep me from working out, they would need to amputate all my limbs, tongue included.
Pics and logs will follow shortly.

Any company out there, who sells supplements that could be helpful for my condition (heart health, wound healing, mood), I'm willing to log my experience with your product in exchange for a free sample, just PM me. Any help is appreciated.

Just be patient, I'm gathering all my strength right now, also fiddling with economic issues to keep my family afloat. Daily logging will start in a few days.

About one week before the surgery :

Now, exactly two weeks after surgery:

Awesome! Thank you so much. My mother had bypass surgery few years back. She had 5 blockages then so she had to go through the bypass surgery. I was always worried about my mother and used to think whether she can join gym or not, whether mild weight lifting or cardio is good for her or stressful for her heart. But now I think I got the answer. Please elaborate on this topic. I recently lost my dad and now I'm so much concerned about her. I donydon't wanna lose her. Her cholesterol level again got increased a little bit. HDL is less than the normal range and LDL got increased. Triglycerides also higher than the normal range.
