Straight forward. 3,100 or so Ed is my bulking calories right now. Gained like 6-7 lbs just in water since I changed my routine up and doubled my carb intake but my shoulders and chest still look nice and grainy when flexed, just hardly able to see my abs which is expected. Just didn’t know due to nutrient partitioning if I should be eating even more or just hang out where I’m at.

"How do you eat on gear?"

Depends. If its a cut, bulk -or recomp.
With orals, appetite suffers and a bulk may become a recomp.
When cutting, cravings may hit and it becomes a bulk.
With other words, it never works as it should.
:)

Good, lets wait for the results.

You have to be consequent when cheating. Do it regularly and full force! LOL
It will change your appearance over time, believe me, it will blow you up!
The tricky thing is to get rid of the fat covering the new muscles.

Not much of an issue for me until I get down to about 170lbs then it’s dropping to 160lbs that gets hard but I need more lean body mass so I don’t have to drop that low to see abs lol.

Yeah, you ought to aim for 180-200+ and just try to keep the bodyfat you have from growing with it. If you can.

Or you can truly recomp, aim to keep the scale in the same spot and watch your fat drop off as the muscles grow larger.

I was trying to do that, still am... I accidentally gained 20lbs of muscle in three weeks instead (thanks M1A) and about five more pounds of fat.

As a general idea of where to start, to bulk up, you add 500 calories a day.

To cut, you subtract 500 calories a day (or more)

To recomp, you eat maintenance calories, with low fats, median carbs, and high protein.

That’s where you start. Then as you get yourself figured out or as you progress, you adjust the caloric intake to account for the new bodyweight etc. and adjust the macros to better suit your desired leanness within reason.

It’s the same as doing it “natty” (bodybuilding is not a natural act) but you get more out of the whole thing when you’re on gear.

Or for some of us, using gear is the only way to not have a “dad bod” no matter the diet or training otherwise. For me as a natural it’s... Try to bulk, get fat, try to cut, get weak and stay fat. Try to recomp. Lol... you can’t recomp naturally.
