What to do when you get sick on cycle?

So how do you guys tackle a cold or fever when you are on cycle with a methylated steroid? I read the liver is partly responsible for fighting viruses so obviously if you contiue taking the oral while sick it could exacerbate things such as fatigue since it will be working overtime. Do you guys power through it and continue taking the oral or stop until the sickness is through and then start taking the compound again once your better?

Hasn't happened to me, not with an oral but what I would do would depend on the compound and the severeness of the illness. Like if the cold is light and I could still train, or know I'm going to be able to train in a day or two, I wouldn't change anything. But for a more serious cold or maybe flue, I would probably discontinue the oral and lower other injectables to a maintenance level. Especially if I was taking something like SD or Tren... Both of which can and do raise metabolic rate, heart rate, might raise body temperature. Imagine having the flue and having extra night sweats from tren lol No thank you... So it all depends on the compounds, dosages and the seriousness of your condition/how bad you feel.

As far as I know, androgens also lower the bodies immune response, so less androgens would probably mean a quicker recovery. But on the other hand, fluctuations in hormone levels can bring unnecessary stress to the body. So again, it depends imo. For a low level cold, it's probably better not to change much if anything.

I’m sick and I’m taking s4, which I don’t believe is very liver toxic. I’m just going to continue taking it. Hopefully I don’t miss too many gym sessions.

The compounds are DMZ and S23 with a trt cruise dose. I feel I am over the hump on the worst of the cold like fever, sore throat, head aches which have all subsided, but the lethargy has been terrible. Then just when I feel I am over it and have a fairly good day and work out Saturday I am tired all day yesterday even though it was an off day at the gym. What sucks too is I normally have tons of energy right after lifting, but with this I feel I can take a nap right after I lifted. Pop 600 mg caffeine preworkout and don’t feel a thing. Feeling better today when I woke up, but will probably just take the day off from the gym so I dont have a repeat of what happened this weekend after lifting on Saturday. I hate cold season!

Depends how sick, I’d take at least 3 days off training and continue the same dosage and go from there

How is the S4 treating you? Any vision sides?

The vision side is totally manageable at 50mg. When I went up to 75mg I decided to take 50 of it first thing in the morning and then 25mg about four hours later. It was overwhelming at that point. I was 95+% blind in the dark. It was way too intense so I dropped back to 50mg for two weeks. Now I’m attempting 75mg again but this time I’m taking it in three separate doses spread out by 4-6 hours. Hopefully that makes the vision side more bearable.

Generally I stay on. I might drop the orals or just keep it up. Depends on how sick, what I need to take, and what’s in my system. With long acting steroids or long acting sarms they’re in your system for longer than you will be sick even if you stop taking it right away. Sarms with a 24hr half life or longer such as Lgd and ostarine will stick around for 72 hours causing their effects.

If I need to take antibiotics I will stop taking any orals. They might interact in the kidneys.

Unless I can’t even get up and I feel like dying (litterally like dying) I’ll keep going and push through

I’ve always taken my stack through being sick. For me it usually didn’t take long.

Rest up, eat and sleep, repeat until you feel better. Then go lift.

Yep, that’s the plan. I made the mistake of going back too early and worked out heavy on Saturday (squats, hack squats. etc), next day felt like absolute crap. I’m taking one more day off tomorrow which will be a total of three then going back. I feel like I could go back tomorrow, but don’t want a risk of a repeat of this weekend. It always sucks though to miss workouts when your on cycle since you only can run so many of them a year if you want to do it safely and you want to maximize your time, but if i go back too early again I may f myself up for an even longer time.

It sucks! I lost 2 weeks on my current cycle. But when sick you do not need all the cortisol and stress that working out brings. So rest and keep in mind that resting is helping fight the illness!

back your dose off the orals and i bet the lethargy goes away.
unless you had the full blown flu you aint gettin no lethargy from being sick.

I’m missing my fourth straight day from the gym. I can tell I’m getting over my sickness but I don’t want to come back too soon and f myself up. My body isn’t ready yet.

I’ve definitely considered dropping my cycle but I have three weeks supply worth of s4 left and figure maybe I should just wait the sickness out and then finish up the cycle. But if I stop now then I did 8 weeks which is a pretty traditional cycle length anyway. I’m not sure what I’ll do.

John Romano was right man, you ALWAYS get sick on cycle. I’m thinking back and it’s like... every single cycle I can vividly remember, I got sick at some point. I mean it IS a few months of your life. We are animals, we get sick pretty often. Usually we just aren’t paying attention to some sniffles. Add drugs and the power of suggestion and you get sick a lot.

I still power through it to a degree.
Just don't do like I did 6 years ago. Even though I was sick, I just kept powering through it ..... Visited the Dr. twice, got antibiotics and steroids (LOL), and just kept pushing it at work, gym, etc. I finally had to go back to to the Dr. and he said, "Man, you've got to check into the hospital now". I had full blown Pneumonia, and was getting worse.

The lethargy is definitely related to being sick, but probably caused by the androgens. The liver plays a role in helping us overcome viruses. My guess is between my liver having to do that and me taking S23 and DMZ together both of which is hard on the liver it is being overtaxed and producing the lethargy. The reason I know the lethargy is related to being sick is my symptoms have been gradually decreasing and so has the lethargy, similarly when my symptoms were peaking so was the lethargy. I’m not 100 percent, but getting there and I am going to return tomorrow. Hopefully won’t regret doing so.

I didn’t want to stop the compounds when I got sick because when it started I was already three weeks in to my 8 week cycle so they were building up in my system. If I had stopped them for a full week when I got sick I might as well would have had to abandon the cycle which would suck cause I have to plan my cycles around my trt bloodwork, thus I would have to wait a long time before being able to run another cycle.

Today is day five of me being sick. I feel worse today than I did yesterday. But I’m dying to workout. So I think I’ll make a compromise with myself and just do some isolation work in the moderate to light range. Hopefully in another day or two I’ll be healthy enough to get back to heavy compounds but right now I think that’d be too taxing to my body and counter productive.

Hope you get better quickly man. I am feeling about 100 percent. Had slight lethargy yesterday, but it is now completely gone. I was going to go back today, but decided I will wait one more day to ensure I don’t suffer any setbacks like I did over the weekend when I went back too soon. So in total I will have missed two workouts last week and three this week. I would rather get back to the gym quicker at 100 percent than work out when I am sick and have subpar, unproductive workouts that make me stay sick longer.

Hit the gym for the first time since Saturday. Feeling 100 percent and looking to maximize the final four weeks of my cycle. It was great to be back. Glad I stuck with it and kept taking the compounds when I was sick so I am “fully loaded”. Unlike Saturday, no return of lethargy after lifting.

If im on orals i will drop them for the duration of me being sick if i think i need to, and depending on which orals they are and how ****ty they make me feel in general. First thing i will cut out is the gym(for a few days). Ive never been seriously ill and felt it necessary to stop everything, in which case it would almost be pointless to drop long-ester injectables(which is usually the bulk of whatever cycle im on) as they would still be in me for the duration of the sickness
