Rest days gear or SARMs?

On a cutting cycle with Osta and S4... also almost 50. Would the whole week with either weights and/or cardio be too much? Should there be at least 1 day of neither to recoup?

Or since you're going into superhuman mode that's not necessary? :)

Regardless of being on gear it’s still good practice to include rest days in your program. The body recovers much better while on but still needs time to do so. Also the continuous load will eventually overload your central nervous system. The overload is much worse when powerlifting or going for strength but long periods with no rest can still have the same effect.

I use active recovery rest days, with an hour of LISS on one of them and some forearm exercises on the other.

I do the same. If i dont wanna take a day off when i should i do oddball stuff like some light cardio followed by direct neck or grip stuff

Yeah I can’t keep myself away from the gym. If I do really need a full rested recovery day, my body will let me know, I won’t feel like I can train. When that happens I just skip what was on my routine for that day and then the next day just pick up where I should be for that day.

That happens extremely rarely. More often it’s my work schedule cutting into my sleep schedule keeping me away from the gym. Even then I do have a bench at home with a barbell, easy bar, and dumbbells... weight plates too even, haha.

If forced to skip because of the schedule I get as hard a pump as I can at home directly before bed. Usually I wake up still pumped up hours and hours later. Seems pretty effective at least for a bit of a placeholder.

I do the same as well. Forearms and calves are a good "day off." But I have to say that there is most definately a difference if you take a legit day or 2 off....even if on the off days your just doing rando small muscles like that. Replace your training session with a meal and reap the rewards.

It really hurts me mentally to take days off, i absolutely love being in the gym. Regardless of whether im on or off, i always need at least one full day of absolutely no lifting or cardio, 2 is better. Some weeks i can only handle 4 days of lifting when i progressively dig myself into an overtraining hole, which is a lot harder to do when im on. I think no matter what though, 5 days of solid workouts with 2 full consecutive days off is the best balance for me.
Technically if you lowered your volume enough and programmed your split in a certain way along with manipulating other variables, you could probably get away with never taking a single rest day. Idk im just speculating and theorizing lol

Sometimes it takes more discipline to take a day off than it does to go to the gym. If you’re feeling burned out then just chill and recover, or else you’ll only stunt your progress.

Never thought about it like that.... is actually very helpful. Thanks!

I envy some of you guys lol. Since I have started powerlifting I have had to force myself to drop from 6-7 days a week in the gym to 4-5. It took me fully overloading my central nervous system to the point my warm ups on squats felt like my maximal working sets for the lesson to sink in.

Exactly. I take a week off every 3 months for recovery. Studies show it takes about 2 weeks of not working out before you would lose strength, muscle.

Thanks for all the responses... learned the importance of breaks natty. Wasn't sure if the rules were different! I took a complete day off.

I've probably had over training in the past. Hard to beat the mindset gotta get to the gym. One time I recall very well, after a few months of lifting heavy, feeling burned out and not going anywhere I took a week off. Was surprised instead of being weaker, lifts were better coming back!

Dorian Yates trained three times a week for 45 minutes. Of course he was on a ton of gear and that maximized the results. But there’s also plenty of natty guys out there with good physiques who only train about that much each week. Sometimes you actually have to cut back on volume to grow.
