What kind of sense does it make for a guy to use gear if they are not competing nor have any aspirations to do so?
Vanity. To look good naked and to get attention from women. Likes on Instagram and Facebook. There’s no other reason to do it if you aren’t competing. A lot of non competitors use gear because they are extremely insecure. I’ve seen some non competing guys who use gear recently come off of gear and omg they look so different. Like night and day. Like regular average Joe’s. Everything is gone and they look depressed, embarrassed, etc. one old guy I know stopped using gear and he now looks like a frail old man. It’s one of those scenarios where you look at the guy your jaw drops and you’re like “wtf happened to your muscle man!” Craziest part is that these drastic changes happen within only a few months of being off gear. Why use gear if the end goal is to eventually looking weaker, fatter and smaller than you were before you started gear? What kind of sense does it make for a guy to use gear if they are not competing nor have any aspirations to do so?
I think it depends entirely on what gear you’re talking about and what kind of training is maintained, post cycle. Are you describing AAS, or prohormones, myostatin inhibitors, etc?Vanity. I’m guessing, however it could be part of OP’s decision making process and he’s looking for external validation before choosing a path to follow. What kind of sense does it make for a guy to question why someone else does or doesn’t do something?
I just realised that the original question is flawed.Good point. It sounded very judgemental when I read it, but you may be right. My apologies OP

OP, why is it that you believe that people who aren’t participating in bodybuilding comps are not competing?
You’re ALWAYS competing.
Have you ever noticed you get treated very differently when your physique is on-point? This is why Chad always wins.
You’re competing with the person next to you when attracting a sexual partner.
You’re competing with your literal competitors at work, when selling, gaining clients’ trust and closing deals.
At the most basic level, you’re competing with who you were yesterday and helping your unseen teammate succeed - your future self.
How you go about all of that is up to you, however I always look for the most efficient and safest route to achieve success in all areas.
Tree fiddy!Bro OP is a notorious troll who has been around here forever with a heap of different accounts.
The answer to his question is tree fiddy
This is the most valid answer. Extreme insecurities! Once they jump on and realize how they look, they're addicted. They want to feel power, feel big, feel alpha, feel dominant. There's nothing wrong with that either. However I would never recommend gear for lack of those qualities. Those qualities are all in the head. Don't need gear to attain any of those. Once they have it though it's a mean cycle. Coming on coming off coming on coming off. Being impatient and skimping or skipping pcts. Skimping on the time between cycles. All for that ego boost. I see it all the time. Especially amongst the teenage and mid twenties age group. Whole new person they morph into. Some into complete *******s. Bigger than life. It's like their key to everything they ever wanted. I don't like it or condone it but hell more power to em'. Sucks when they're close to you though.Vanity. To get swolt as a mofo......who cares, lift how YOU want to lift and be happyWhat kind of sense does it make for a guy to use gear if they are not competing nor have any aspirations to do so?
Just let his thread die, he will start another pointless one tomorrowStupid question. Why do people who aren't racing drivers want fast cars. Why do people who don't enter pool tournaments play pool down the pub. Why do people with no intention of being in the porn industry get boob jobs. I think its because we are human. Curiosity and a need to have interests and hobbies drives people to do all kinds of strange stuff, some harmless some dangerous. Sometimes the danger adds to the attractiveness. I know someone that does rock climbing and parachute jumps. They don't enter competitions to do it. They pay other people money to let them do it.
What does competition have to do with anything? a PR is a PR regardless of if I'm wearing a singlet and have people staring at me while I do it. Strength is strength even if your not in a formal "competition".What kind of sense does it make for a guy to use gear if they are not competing nor have any aspirations to do so?
I'm not insecure about my body, I lifted natural for 20 years. Found out recently I had low test and, since one major reason not to run gear was gone, the whole kill natural production, I use it now.Vanity. To look good naked and to get attention from women. Why not TRT?I'm not insecure about my body, I lifted natural for 20 years. Found out recently I had low test and, since one major reason not to run gear was gone, the whole kill natural production, I use it now.
It's more about what I want than it is what others see...
I lifted my whole life to get big and be as strong as possible. Now I just do that on a nother level.
I'm on try, that's when I started using gear...Why not TRT?
If you had to get on TRT in your 20’s you aren’t winning lol.Life itself is a competition and I want to win it.
I'm late twenties and on trt, before I started I was constantly depressed and my dick wasn't working right half the time.
I want to be the best human I can be body and mind, if there was a drug to make you smarter then wouldn't it make sense to take it? Same goes for strength. Some people are happy being average, I am not.
