Why do you think this young country is now the best place to live in the whole world? Our forefathers were God loving people!
Separation of church and state is to keep one religion from ruling. (Learn from others mistakes) We are all sinners by nature and will always miss the mark.

Nationalist as in you follow exactly what the government feeds you even if it goes against your own morals or basic sense of right and wrong. That's not patriotism and it's now how this country was set from the start. The Constitution and its amendments were created with safeguards and admits that the government will not always be right.

I made a prediction and it doesn't look like it will come true. Life goes on. If your piece of mind is based on the election of people who don't care about you or your interests and the idea that it gives you some sort of fake "win", then I feel pity for you. What I want is fairly simple: I want the person who honestly and legally got the most votes to be in office. If that person breaks the law, they should be removed. Your threat that Democrats should ignore investigating if Trump did anything wrong because that will leave them with Pence is one of the most unamerican things that I have ever heard.

Completely different....that was 10+years ago. I have always openly acknowledged my atrocious mistake with Obama since April of ‘09 and took steps to correct them rather than repeating them. Let’s move on to 2018.

Obama put us in this mess, if he hadn't been such an extreme leftist trump would never have had a chance and we would have a more moderate president....but-trump was a far better alternative than Hillary who quite possibly would have been even more extreme left than Obama.

as a lawyer and as a proud citizen, I find this take to be disturbing, dangerous and un- American. The Judges on the Court should always provide an unbiased, impartial application of the law. “ReVenge” ( i am not sure what they are getting revenge for) should never be considered. if you believe Kavanaugh’s words today, he would be offended by any claim he is going to do anything but be an impartial judge.

What do the following all have in common?

  • The Catholic Journal
  • The largest organization of Christian churches
  • Former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens
They all think Kavanaugh should not be on the Supreme Court and none of them are Liberals.
None of them are pro Roe v Wade.

Stevens take is shared by a lot of lawyers. Whether it was fair or unfair that Kavanaugh was placed in the situation of being questioned, his performance made many question whether he has the temperament to be in the Court.

Irony is, if there had been an opportunity to do a thorough investigation before the hearing, then its possible that anything that was really not credible would have been dismissed prior to the hearing. From that perspective, I thought he made a strategic mistake by not pushing for the investigation himself. Given the limited investigation that was done, at least one side of the country will be raising questions about him the rest of his life (which will not stop after his confirmation). A failure to interview many of the alleged witnesses will probably lead to at least some of them making public statements, further keeping questions about him in the public. If Kavanaugh really did not commit any of the alleged acts, that is truly unfortunate for him and his family.

That's why I only vote for city and county polititions and policies; voting for president, you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't. Plus politics are so polarized anymore that I worry we're just going to have psycho after psycho for president for the foreseeable future with each new president trying to outdo the previous one in the opposite direction.

I voted for Gary Johnson last election, he might get a senate seat this year. I would consider either a repub or dem in local elections but not often.

Even now you're focusing on fake stories of transgender people while ignoring real issues and using women and kids to justify your stance. Trump used it as a scare tactic to get votes and it worked, but hey it's a win, right?
