No, I don't take nay probiotics at all.. Would they help to educe feelings of morning sickness or even appetite? My appetite is so poor that I literally finished a medium intensity workout and have no urge to eat even with lean chicken and broccoli in front of me. I do tend to eat late at night, as this is the only time I can eat fully, but even then I will wake up with feelings of sickness and a low appetite. No family history of digestive related illness either.
I may have to purchase MassMax at this point, if the NDMA antagonists aren't strong enough, which as you said is a possibility.
I believe, and the science is still young and not super definitive on this yet, that gut health is an underlying factor in things you would not even expect.
I am no doctor and even if I was, diagnosis over the internet is really not a good idea - but I'm seeing a couple things that I find interesting and I would experiment with.
One is, I wonder if you have a histamine intolerance. There is a lot of stuff on the internet that takes this way overboard and claims it is the cause of all kinds of diseases, but histamine levels that are elevated would certainly kill appetite and cause nausea. You may also notice other allergies too. This is kind of a long-shot guess here, because there's no blood work, etc. - but that's why I'm suggesting to test it with some diphenhydramine before sleep (Benedryl). Worst that happens is you get some deep sleep, but if you wake up and can eat you have an arrow pointing o histamines in that case - and diphenhydramine is a pretty reasonable anti-histamine and a cheap test. I'm sure you have some benedryl or an off brand in your house already maybe.
But gut health could contribute to a histamine intolerance, and it would also more directly contribute to an inability to efficiently digest and absorb food. This would obviously make gaining weight difficult because even if you were eating - if you can't digest it and use it, you could eat a cow and not gain weight. And if you're eating late at night, having trouble digesting and then going to sleep - that undigested food will sit there and your stomach will still be full when you wake up - and your struggling stomach will send signs of an issue to your brain (nausea) that, "Hey, I'm not ready - whatever you do, don't eat".
I'm not surprised you have a lower appetite after exercise. Heat has been shown in studies to reduce appetite through TRPV1 activation in the hypothalmus...which actually triggers another question - what is your body temperature typically like when you wake up, and later in the day when you are able to eat?
Again, this is really tough because there are probably a dozen or two dozen issues that could contribute to appetite issues, and I'm just kind of zeroing in on some based on what I'm seeing on here and trying to think of angles that might be missed to try to give you some ideas for testing patterns and making adjustments.
I am going to make a product recommendation for general health but before i do I want you to know I am friends with the owner of this company and he pays me to manage some small retailer accounts for him - but I certainly don't do it for the money. Evomuse Gut Health is a great probiotic that I use every night and I am sure many on here will agree is a top quality probiotic. A bottle will last 2 months, including the loading phase, for under $30. Just a thought - I know it can be tough to spend $30 on something new.
And one last thought - there's recent research into obesity that shows that eating a mix of carbohydrate and fats together actually induces over-feeding. I think many obese people like me would agree with this finding - especially when the carbs are sugary carb sources. Maybe you can use that to your advantage to induce over-eating to some extent.
Finally, going back to basics - what is your diet like to begin with? What strategies are you using? What macros are you shooting for? What and when do you eat?
