First off I’d like to thank MySTeek and millennium sport technologies for choosing me to log their intra workout product RPG. In this log I’ll include my training, nutrition and my usual bantering about life in general.

I’ll also:

Offer a taste review

I’ve tried many intra workout products ranging from the simplest of bcaas to fully doses intra/post workout matrices. For the past little while I’ve been using NutraBio Intra Blast and have really enjoyed it from taste to performance so definitely will compare/contrast that as well as the other intra products I’ve used. I’ll go over formulas, serving sizes, taste and of course value. I love running logs especially for products that I’ve almost picked up in the past as, just like it is with my training, I never sit still, and am always looking for something to either replace the incumbent supp or add into my rotation.

Like all of my logs interaction is encouraged, hopefully on topic. So if anyone has a specific aspect or angle they want explored please let me know and I’ll do my best to answer them.

Product pictures and label breakdown will go here once product arrives.

In for support. RPG can be used anytime, intra is a great time of course. I use it on fasted cardio days, and somedays when I dont want to eat a meal before bed I take two scoops

Will you be taking this for a fasted workout? What are your plans in testing/ gauging the effectiveness? I find it hard to really measure effectiveness of a BCAA/EAA product works.

Gauging bcaas is difficult as compared to other supplements. When trying out new intra products I look at my everyday baseline and since I’ve tried so many I know how a good bcca/intra works for me basically if the new product lacks that feel per se I know that me and it don’t match perfectly. I’ll do my best to quantify the way it makes me feel in a better manner than just saying oh really feel good.

As far as testing we’ll just normal workouts work best bc you’ve already established a baseline for yourself to measure from. But definitely will do different variables throughout the log.

I haven’t been doing fasted training in a while but was doing it for a good stretch and had success at it. Perhaps I could throw a cpl sessions in to see how the product works in a such a state

Hope that answers the question just woke up so not the most coherent right now lol

Obviously mine arrived today.

Got the bubba punch flavor. Of course I had to crack it open.

Me and fruit punches are all over the place. I like most and hate the rest. This one reminds me of the tahitian treat they sell in cans which I used to drink like a maniac when I used to work down south. Great flavor, so happy that’s the fruit punch route millennium went with. Great call. It’s sweet and the punch notes come out with each sip, don’t really know how to describe it better than Tahitian treat though. Mixed in 8 oz of water so in my workout jug it’ll be 24 for 2 scoops though so some of that sweetness will wane which is to be expected in a large water amount.

Looking at the label I love all the added goodies in here. I knew it was a bcaa/eaa product but the 2.5 grams if glutamine was great to see along with the extensive recovery matrix which includes dark cherry, nac, acerola and blueberry juice. Orotic acid I’m unfamiliar with but it’s also included.

Electrolyte matrix also included.

Serving size is 50 scoops but it’ll be 25 for me as I like a higher leucine count. The serving has 2.5 so double that and it’s the perfect dosage to maximize results and 5 g of glutamine is perfect for recovery.

Looking greatly to testing this out. I’ve been taking it relatively easy in the gym this week bc I had a hernia incident and have just been cautious. Was gonna take the weekend off but now that this arrived I’ll definitely get at least 1 session in either tomorrow or Saturday

Here’s how the powder looks:

First real day of use. Took 2 scoops in 24 oz water, sipped through my session.

First though and I’m not going to analyze this yet, bc it’s only been 1 night, but I like I mentioned earlier took 1 scoop with 8 oz. then b4 bed I repeated but with 12 oz. flavor was slightly less strong but still got that Tahitian treat vibe. Very nice. But I woke up today less hungrier than usual, upon waking is almost the only time I’m super hungry anymore. But really just felt very good, not full but not hungry like normal and outside that I felt really good in general terms. Again 1 day and could be other variables but just thought I’d report this as it could be useful if it happens consistently. Will repeat again tonight and will do the same on rest days. But don’t really want to use it all up just get enough info to truly analyze what I experienced upon waking this morning.

Ok as I said took 2 in 24 oz during workout. I gotta say that I like the taste way better 1 scoop in 8 or 12 oz. even with the extra scoop in there it was really diluted, wasn’t bad at all, and I’d even recommend it. Just reporting that the whole Tahitian treat thing waned tremendously in this way. Again still good just not the same as before.

One thing I can 100% credit to rpg was the endurance factor in terms of recovery. It’s been a long time where I’ve got to 90 minutes in and just been shot. 90 seemed to be my sweet spot where fatigue overcomes me but when I felt that today I looked up at the clock and it was almost exactly 2 hours in.

My workout was something I like to call the heaven and hell workout:

Bb floor press 3x7. 155,185,205

Ss
Push press 3x6. 135
Front squat 3x7. 135

Incline bb press. 3x6. 145

Ss
Landmine press 1 arm. 3x6. 80
Landmine press 2 arms 3x7. 80

Side lateral raise (heavy partial). 3x12 80

Side lateral raises 1 arm. 3x14 45

Side lateral raise. 3x18. 20,15,15

Ss
Db rdl. 3x12. 50
Hack slide 3x14. 140,180,180

Ss
Hamstring crunch. 3x21. 22
Standing calf machine 3x18. 150

Seated calf raises 35x36, 25x42, 25x36

I’ve been taking it easy past few days bc of hernia issues but felt awesome and went in as if nothing was wrong at all and no worse the wear. So great session.

Could I have gone a bit heavier on some of the earlier lifts, sure, but at that point I was still being a bit more cautious than normal especially bc those first lifts were compound lifts that you do incorporate core heavily in.

RPG passed this first workout greatly. Only thing I’ll have to keep an eye on is if the extended sessions become a trend I’ll have to throw in some hbcd in with the rpg to ensure optimal glycogen levels.

Same feeling this am. I’m thinking that I’m probably usually so hungry when I wake up is that the last thing I eat at night is usually sugar, ok . And that probably stirs the hunger pot as I sleep. But taking the full spectrum aminos prior to bed I think in a way enhances protein synthesis over the time and kinda tricks my body that it doesn’t need to feel so hungry upon waking bc it’s been fed all night. Just a shotgun analysis.

Was supposed to have taken a rest day yesterday but of course had to test these out and wanted to again today. I did a very quick back trap and rear delt session. Left sweaty but tons left in the tank, 45 min.

I just know myself and these work. It’s hard to quantify in words, but you just get this feeling in you that you don’t get other times or have gotten with other aminos in the past. Well I definitely get that vibe the past two workouts. Just wish the flavor tasted as good 2 scoops in 24 oz as it does with 1 scoop in 8-12 oz. that’s really my only hesitation at already picking up another tub for myself. Does it sound too quick to already form an opinion. I think so but then again I feel how I feel and two sessions two different workouts structures in terms of length and rep ranges. Yesterday mainly 6 and 7. And 2 hrs. Today volume galore in 45 min. But we’ll see if that feeling changes over the next few weeks.

Straight arm pulldown 3x30. 30 lbs

Bent over row 135x20,185x15,205x10,225x8

Rack pull 225x5, 315x10,12,12

Ss
Bar shrug 225x15,185x20,155x25,135x30
Behind back same

long bar row 4x15. 1 plate,2,3,3

Cable rear fly. 3x12 10 lbs

Yesterday was a planned rest day. Today I woke up with terrible back spasms so took the day off.

I’m really liking these aminos as an evening drink. Outside of my unrelated back spasms felt great each morning after drink night before.

Hopefully they’ll be gone tomorrow so I can get a lift in, even if it’s just arms. I have a client in the afternoon so have to be at the gym anyhow so just hoping these horrible spasms subside by then

Made into work today. Back is f’d though. I can’t bend over. Sux. My boss has a pt degree and looked at it, he thinks I strained my ql. I never even thought of that bc the pain is so high. He said normally ql problems generate from the glute/hips but it goes that high.

So he basically said not much but time unfortunately except I can massage my glutes. How hilarious is that lol

But I was able to get a decent arm session in. I wasn’t fasted by any means but I really think rpg shined for sure today. It’s just a feeling of how things felt while lifting especially since I went low weight high reps that I really knew the endurance was definitely being helped out.

Bar curl. 4x15. 45,65,85,65
Felt pain on the 85 so dropped back to 65

Close grip 4x15. 95,145-was fine until last cpl reps so dropped 115 and 105

Db preacher 3x12. 30 lbs

Lying side db ext. 3x12. 20 lbs

Standing back supported rope pushdown 3x20 22 lbs

Db hammer curl 3x15. 40,45,45

Cable curl. I’ll be honest I only did this so I’d have another option for posting gym pic on ig tonight lol
44x20.

Much better today but stayed with upper body to be safe. Shoulder day

Seated db press 3x15. 35,45,55

Standing alternating arm press 3x10. 20,25,30

Seated v press 3x12. 20 lbs

Ez overhead front raises 3x10. 40 lbs

Side lateral raises 3x12. 30 lbs

Rear fly 3x20. 20 lbs

Db shrugs 3x20. 45 lbs

Made up a new movement for a rear delt finisher. I thought I taped it but darn phone fell over so all I got was the black mat.

Set pulley to just below shoulder level. Your hand should have to slightly angle down but not too much. Grab the d handle and step back until you’re about to move the pulley. That’s the starting point. Pull back using your rear delt. 22 x20 was difficult but some guy asked me what got my rear delt so pumped. I didn’t know what to call it, so I told him this rear delt cable thing. He replied fine don’t tell me. He’s kinda a jerk so I just kept walking lol

RPG shined though felt great throughout the session and if I wasn’t time pressed I easily had gas in the tank, and that’s in a humid gym with a broken ac on a 88 degree day

Been at maintenance for the past week. 80/20. Well more like 70/30 if I’m being honest with myself. Macros slightly vary but have been close to 100 fat. 250 carb and 200 protein.

I actually decided to mini cut for a bit. So will be slightly under. Should be like 80 fat. 175 carb and 250 protein carbs may even get to 150. Which on those days I bump fat up slightly.

I workout in the afternoon or late morning depending on when I have clients. So I eat breakfast for sure say around 7-830 range if it’s a late morning workout I don’t feed until after, workout on these days are around 1145. On afternoons I eat breakfast than lunch around 12-1230 then workout around 3. So it’s definitely not a fast per se but it’s not eating immediately before working out. On weekends if I get up early enough I’ll train fasted but if I do I add hbcd into my intra workout bc I don’t do well training 100% fasted.

Well. I pretty much wound up lifting fasted today.

Today: 7 am oatmeal and iso 100
1130. OL protein beta test
Fell asleep around 1 by accident and woke up at 215. Thankfully my dog was barking his butt off and it woke me otherwise I would’ve missed a cpl clients.

I got to the gym and only had 37 minutes before my first client arrived.

Ss
Leg press 360-3x20
Calf press same

Db rdl. 4x15. 40,60,80,100

V squat 4x10. 2@180,2@270

Ss
Seated calf raises 3x15. 45
Ghr. 3x15

Ss
Leg extensions 3x10. 140
Seated leg curl 3x10 180

Kb dl. 2x20. 53,106

I didn’t mix the hbcd into the rpg bc when I’m running a log I don’t like “stacking” things that can skew results. Pres are stable. That’s why I like using same pre I was using prior to log and keep same in the log for consistency reasons.

So no pre today bc I was rushed. Radiate but that was at 7 am.

Only supplement used was rpg. I can see why u like it, the workout is probably maximizing this way tbh. But I just felt sick like every other time I’ve done any version of fasted lifting. I’ve learned that if I’m going to do it I need the intra workout carbs otherwise I feel sick. Endurance usually dips but that wasn’t the case today but then again not sure if 37 minutes can be used but I feel I went at a high intensity with virtually no rest so I’ll credit rpg for keeping endurance levels high during this session. Oddly enough I have no problem doing straight up fasted cardio though.

Another thing was I had the craziest pump I’ve ever had on a leg day. I looked over the ingredients again when I got home and can’t figure out where the pump cane from. Normally I’d attribute a pump to the pre but since I didn’t take one and no carbs. Rpg really was the only possible reason outside the high reps. But for those who follow my logs you’ll know I do high reps a lot and never got a pump like this before.

IMG_1967.JPG

I’ve used intra that include vaso ingredients in but never a noticeable pump came from them that I can recall. If this pump was truly from rpg then a great marketing thing would be to say no need for a pump product at all bc rpg has pump inducing ingredients. Pretty cool.

Tried the “blood-fast” again today. That’s what I’m calling it anyhow.

7am. Oatmeal and half donut.
1015 iso 100 shake with water
3 pm rpg during workout

Still felt a bit sick during the session but I made it through 90 minutes. So if anyone asks I’ll definitely vouch that rpg does increase exercise endurance. #facts

Pumps are pretty nasty this way too which is kinda crazy bc my best pumps almost always occur when I eat a high carb meal about 60 minutes before lifting. So this is new territory especially since I can’t find any other reason besides rpg.

Bench press 3x12. 135,155,155. 4x6. 185,205,185,185

Incline db bench 50x12,60x9,70x7,80x3

That 3 was supposed to be a 5. But man tell me if this has ever happened to you b4: u ask for a spot and the dude walks away after your second lift. It threw me off and I prob would’ve had 5 if had the spot but man come on. So I asked him and he said oh well u look like u had things under control lol

Db incline fly 15x20. 25-3x12

Seated db front raises 25-3x10

Seated side lateral raises 25x10,20x12,15x15,10x20
Ss
Db hex press 5x6. 35,45,55,65,75
Db fly. 30x6, 25-3x6, 20x6

Ss
Decline barbell. 95x20,135x15,155x10
Decline fly. 3x15. 15 lbs

Could’ve actually gone longer but had to oversee some plank challenge that 2 ppl showed up for. I don’t care though seeing 1 dude went for 4.15. Nobody else was going to beat that lol

Woke up did some errands. Was getting my gym stuff together when I’m a second I felt nauseous, stomach pains and was freezing. So took a cpl gas x went to sleep. Feel way better now but that was that for the day. Tomorrow was supposed to be the rest day but I think I’m going to try and get in to the gym near my house after brunch is over.

So. This post is going to be filed in the tmi department but wtf I have no shame lol

Woke up bound as all hell. Was in so much pain I really was minutes away from going to the hospital. This was pure hell and wish no one ever has to experience something like this. Just b4 I was going to get in my car and go cane the point of no return. And an hour later all was once again right with the world, sort of.

After all that “work” I was decimated physically and mentally. I’d already missed the brunch so I just went back to bed.

Woke up and had a sandwich and those damn stomach pains from yesterday reappeared. I really thought yesterday’s issues were simple related to this mornings but apparently they must be unrelated. So I’m not going to eat that flax bread for awhile. I know it’s not the ham as I eat it all the time. Took a cpl gasx and laid back down again. Just woke up but am literally not looking forward to eating. Have poured myself a gallon jug of water with a scoop of rpg. It really helped settle my stomach yesterday and it’s (right now) all I’m willing to put into me. Probably will grab something later just bc I’ve literally only eaten that ham sandwich and a protein shake today.

At the moment I feel fine again but even though the gyms open til 7, after going through what I have today I feel like I just pulled 600 for 3 sets of 3 on 30 sec rest. Entire being is spent.

I think this whole issue is kratom related. I’ve been using it whenever my back pain flairs up and did a bit of research just now and apparently it is a side effect. So gonna try to curtail my usage but flair ups with back pain come and go, especially now it’s warm outside, bc the arthritis in the discs are greatly affected by the cold, but the cyclo my dr prescribes me usually does the trick.

Man I’ve been rambling but I do that. Anyhow probably way more info that anyone cares to read about but I’ve always been transparent so why stop now right lol

On a rpg note. I know it’s not meant for this but it really settles the stomach quite amazingly. Not sure which ingredients responsible but glad I have it on hand. So I’ve learned rpg goes far beyond what your typical intra workout usually does. Trying to sort out some cash and see if I can’t pick up another tub while it’s on 50% off bc as good as it is 60 is way out of my price range.

Rpg treated me very well today.

As you’ve all read, I had a pretty sh1tty weekend(pun intended) lol.

So I was wondering how today would go. I felt decent not 100 but good enough to get a session in.

Client at 1 cancels so extra 1/2 hour then client at 330 cancels too. So I had all damn afternoon to lift.

Base of the story is that I felt super weak which probably should’ve been expected from low food totals and et al from the weekend but still I just rolled with the punches and put a session in. I swear I didn’t think I’d have the endurance today but I definitely did. 90 minutes of actually lifting was great even at reduced loads.

Ok to the session

Rope straight arm pulldown 33x33

Dl. 7x5. 135 & 225 warmups. 315x3,275x2

Normally I’d have probably got 3x325,2x315. But those 315 were way harder than they should have been.

Bent over row 5x5. 185.

Reverse grip 3x5. 185

Pretty close to my 5x5 of 205.

Bar shrug 3x20. 135,185,225

Behind the back 3x20. 225

Again about 20 lighter for the shrugs. Behind back on par though

Standing rear fly 3x20. 15 lbs

Wide grip pulldown 3x20. 66 lbs

1 arm straight arm pulldown 3x20. 11 lbs

Standing calf machine 3x10. 240

Seated calf raises 3x20. 45 lbs

Still not back to 100 in the strength department but felt much stronger today than yesterday.

Workout
Military 3x12. 65,85,105

Wasn’t going to do these today but super hot chick was squatting and I asked if I could work in. All was going great until She started talking about college and I mentioned I went to buff state. “Oh my sister went there a long time ago, she was really into swimming. (We already spoke about sports). What year did u swim there”. I told the truth. 92-94. The look on her face was priceless. I could see her doing the math in her head. “OMG you do not look like your in your 40’s”. Thanks, yep I’m 43. “My parents are 38. That was that lol. She left shortly afterward.

Push press 4x6. 3x135,1x140

Landmine press 3x20. 25,30,35

Incline bb. 95x12,105x10,115x8,125x6,135x6

I hate these. I’m way stronger than I can go and I know it. It’s just the darn angle that makes my shoulder all wonky so I have to limit the loads.

Db hex press into db fly
20x12,15x15,10x20

Ss
Side lateral raises heavy partial 3x10 70 lbs
Side lateral raises 3x15. 15 lbs

Hoist machine press negative 210-3x4

Session lasted about 90 minutes plus did about 10 minutes elliptical work too before shift started. Great endurance again.

Woke up way too late this am.
Client was at 330 but problem was someone got in a bad accident so I wound up getting to the gym at 245 when I would have arrived at 2. But I can’t bi7ch about that, just hope those ppl in the accident were ok. Two cars looked like they were one. Hate seeing stuff like that.

So I had about 45 minutes to beat these arms up and I feel I did just that.

Felt real good and was just really getting into that mid workout groove feeling when I looked up and saw 325 on the clock and had to stop.

Pump was untamable today.

All super sets.

Alt db curl. 3x20. 20,25,30
Db kick back same

Ez preacher 3x20. 45,55,60
Single overhead tri extensions 3x20 15 lbs

Spider 60x12,55x15,45x20
Double grip overhead extensions 3x12 40 lbs

Tri set
Incline db curl 20 lbs x 12,25,20
Incline skull crushers 3x20 50 lbs
Db wrist twists 30 lbs 3x30 rotations

Rope pushdown 2x20. 11,22
Rope hammer curls 2x20. 33 lbs

If my eyeball math is on point I’d say I have about another week of scoops left. I’m going to say right now though that I’m sure enough to say of all the eaa enhanced bcaa products I’ve used this is right up there with another I like a lot. That ones on the pricy side too. But I may have to give rpg the overall edge bc of the pumps that somehow I’ve been getting while using this and that settling if the stomach I experienced. Oh yeah how when I take a scoop at night too I’m not a raving fiend for food while waking up.

Basically this is way more than just an intra workout product imo.

Have skated in a fasted cardio abs session for either Saturday or Sunday morning. Really haven’t tested this products effects on cardio so thought it prudent to hit a session up. I’m imagining the cardio will purr using this. But we will see

Pretty killer workout today. Full disclosure I took a pre today but seeing I’ve been using rpg for a while now I know the endurance and the pump aspects are consistent. And it worked oh so well today for 1 destructive leg workout.

My right knee hurts a bit. Happened who knows how, woke up with it yesterday. I’ve learned those things parents and grandparents used to say about once u pass the 40 plateau u wake up with random soreness and injuries all the time-#truth

All are tri or super sets.

Leg press close and low
5x20. 360x3,270,180. 90x25 with pauses at high an low points.
Leg press high and wide same as above
Calf press Same but no pauses

Bb good morning 3x15. 45,65,95
Reverse squat machine 3x10. 270
Reverse calf raises 3x20. 270

Db walking lunges 30x10,25x12,20x15
Db rdl. 3x10. 60,80,100

Hamstring cable crunch. 3x20. 33 lbs
Seated calf raises 90-3x12

I do calf raises different every time. If I go light for 20+ I pretty much go fast through them then once muscle fatigues I go slower with top and bottom pauses. Higher weight like today it’s 100% slow and brutal. Top and exaggerated negative. Try them like this, you will hate me for it.

The lunges were disappointing knee just didn’t feel right so I really didn’t go through complete r.o.m. But just enough to where I could feel activation.

Standing calf machine 250x10(slow), 190x12(slow). 110x25. Fast.
Seated leg curl single-70x15,30x30
Seated leg curl 140x12.

Leg extensions-single leg-2x30x40
Kb sumo dl 106-2x20

Well so my client for today canceled yesterday and seeing I didn’t have floor time today I chose to not drive the 30 minutes and lifted at my old gym near my house.

Wouldn’t you figure I didn’t set my alarm clock so I could sleep in and still got up at 7.

Loaded around the house all day basically when I should’ve been working on the book I’ve been working on for the past year. Oh well

Got to the gym around 3. Was cool. I like this gym so much. Literally have every piece of equipment you could want. And it was like a high school reunion so that was nice to see my old gym bros again.

Decimated my back traps rear delts and biceps today. I went 2.25 hours today just because I felt like it. Endurance aspect earned its wings after today.
Warm up
10 minutes elliptical
Pull up 55 assistance. Wide/neutral/close. 3x20

Did all ss tri and giant sets today

Wide grip straight arm pulldown 2x30. 30 lbs
1 arm pulldown 2x30. 70,80
Seated row(handles feet on ground)
2x30. 100,80

Plate loaded high row 2x30. 180,90
Plate loaded ISO row same
Low pulley rope row 2x30. 35,40

Chest supported row 70x10,45x20
Face pull 2x30. 35,30
1 arm straight arm pulldown 10x30,15x20

Chest supported row 25x30
Face pull 30x30
Rope pulldown (sat butt on floor and grabbed rope and lowered self to where back was flat on the floor. Trick is keeping your back on floor entire movement. Hard af. Tension 100% of the time). 100x10

Rack pull 4x6. 135,225,315,345
Band pull apart 4x20

Smith behind back shrugs 3x20. 225
Long bar row 3x20. 90
Band curls. 3x20
Plate twists 25-3x20

Db shrugs 2x20. 45 lbs
Db hammer 2x20. 30,25
Standing rear fly 20x20,25x12
Zotman curl. 2x20. 10,15
1 arm rows 45x10,25x15

Lol. I knew I was done when I couldn’t rep 45 for 20. Felt so darn heavy. 15 reps is what I rep 110 lb Db when I do these at the start of the session.

I’m sore as hell. Combo of today’s workout and doms from legs kicking in ,in my butt of all places. I destroyed quads and nothing there.

So if I feel up to it I’ll hit a second chest and front/side delt with a little tri tomorrow.

I know it was the latest day and it’s freshest in my mind but I really think the endurance aspect shined the best today

Off day today. Stomach issues popped up again today and rpg came to the rescue again. Stuff really helps settle upset tummies. But then by the time I was feeling better I had a graduation party to go to and just got home now.

Probably gonna stick to my original plan and take tomorrow off as well but of course if I do decide to get a lift in I’ll report in here. Hope everyone is having a good weekend
