Finished the first review. Going to do 1 per day, if that’s too long I’ll double up a couple days. Today I tried the gingerbread cookie flavor.

I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect from this flavor. But out of the 5, it intrigued me the most, which is why I did that one first. I’m sure they’re out there, but I’ve never seen a gingerbread flavored protein. So obviously I never tried one before.

I kind of went in thinking this taste would be one of two ways. First it would be a sharp ginger flavor with a bit of cinnamon like in the snaps or In the houses that you’ll find around Christmas time. Second something totally different.

First thing I noticed was the size of the scoop. I guess it’s normal in grams but In the baggie and the glass it seemed like a big scoop to me.

Next I added roughly 8-10 oz of water.

Mixed very easily. There were floating bits though but there were so many I assumed they were intended to be there. So mixed well.

Consistency, even with water was thicker than I expected and texture was smooth and creamy interlaced with the crunchy nature of the crisps/cookie bits.

Taste. Well this falls into scenario 2 more so than scenario 1 which I was thinking would be the route. The ginger flavor is there but I instantly got the taste of cinnamon and molasses as the primary influencer of this shakes taste. Ginger would flash but was for me anyhow more a supporting role to the cinnamon and molasses. Then another thing I sensed was a sweetness kind of like a glazing that would coat a cookie. Combined the cinnamon, molasses, sweet glazing sense and the connective nature of ginger and the crisps merged extremely well together.

I see this flavor as more of a novelty flavor rather than a staple flavor. I would definitely pick up a tub and recommend this flavor as an excellent change of pace protein option. I have several change of pace options sitting around that I’ll reach for every now and then, bc let’s be real. Chocolate and vanilla, even birthday cake now get old from time to time and our taste buds need a reprieve. That’s the category I put gingerbread cookie into. A sweet and creamy alternative.

Heres my video review:

(sorry for all the "ummms..." this is my first video!)

Sample: Blueberry Pastry

Mixability: 10/10

Thickness: 7/10

Taste: 8.5/10

Review:
First, I would like to say thank you again to Olympus Labs and the OL crew for selecting me to be a taste tester! I am nowhere close to being as active as other members and they very easily could have chosen someone else, but I am very happy I was selected!

Now on to the good stuff! I chose to mix my sample with my shake beverage of choice, coconut almond milk. You can see the amount and brand I use in the video. I also explained my preferences regarding protein powders.

So, right off the bat you get a strong pastry, crust crumble type flavor which is very good and not overly sweet or artificial. You get a hint of blueberry in the after taste, which is very light and refreshing and nowhere chemically or artificial. I really enjoyed the natural blueberry flavor, as the other more well known blueberry protein out there is very sweet and slightly artificial. This one is more mild and light. I would like for more blueberry flavor, as a big blueberry fan, that is what I'm looking for. Again, the protein wasn't too heavy or thick for my liking and it is not overly sweet. Olympus Labs did a great job of balancing out the sweetness levels.

In closing, I would like more blueberry, which to me, as it stand now I'd say its a 75/25 ratio of pastry to blueberry. I did like the subtle pastry crust flakes that are throughout the powder, its a nice addition to the pastry flavor. Overall, very good protein and I will definitely pick up a tub upon release!

BLUEBERRY PASTRY

I mixed it in 8oz 2% milk...mixed up really well in my shaker cup-no issues, creamy and thick.

1st thing I noticed were the crispies floating, couldn't see them before mixing so it was pleasant surprise since they were tasty...

first sip I thought sweet, hard to believe OL could pull off this kind of sweetness without a ton of sugar. like BOB said the blueberry flavor is very mild, more like a sugar cookie dough. the lack of blueberry taste didn't diminish from the overall flavor, I truly enjoyed it.

i drank this after working out, i am generally very hungry after workout and this shake seemed to take the edge off, i still ate but it wasn't as much as it would of been-fer sure!!!

overall i give this a big thumbsup for being able to make something so sweet and tasty without using a cup of sugar....if you have a sweet tooth[like me]you will like this, i did!!!

Blueberry Pastry --> Dominant Cinnamon Sugar pastry with blueberry aftertaste. (70/30 ratio of pastry/blueberry).
Fruity Cereal --> Trix cereal replica

I would put Fruity Cereal >> Blueberry, but some people may get burned out quick on sweet cereal spin-off's.

Solid review brother. Greatly appreciated. This is actually the flavor that most caught my attention out of the 5 just based off name alone.

Review for Olympus Labs Peanut Butter Cups Protein

(ratings are on a scale of 1-10....1 being horrendous, and 10 being outstanding)

Mixability/Solubility 10

This protein powder was very easily mixed, and I am quite sure that it did not require the full amount of shaker action that I utilized. When using any form of milk, I have often run into solubility issues when using most of the top brand protein powders that are currently on the market. There were zero clumps and no evidence that the powder was not fully dissolved in 12 oz of 1% milk.

Texture/Consistency 10

This shake was incredibly smooth and homogeneous. I would not call it a thick consistency, but it definitely has some substance to it and was nice and creamy. Just the way I like it!
It reminded me of having a milkshake but just not nearly as cold.

Taste 10

Peanut Butter Cups was delicious! There was more of a chocolate taste to it than peanut butter for me....I would say like 60/40. No complaints there as I do like chocolate a little more than peanut butter. Sweetness was on point and while it has the potential to satisfy the urge for having a tasty treat, it was not overpowering at all. There were no hints of a chemical/artificial taste, while the taste of the actual protein content was completely masked.

Summary

If you couldn’t tell...this got a solid 10 from me. I have actually never experienced a better protein powder and I am being 100% honest when I say that. It is also worth noting that I never developed any GI distress from this. Some of them can send me right to the pooper! It’s somewhat unfortunate that I can’t give it any constructive criticism...I simply don’t have any.

The only thing left to say is...it’s perfect!

Second review: PB Cup

Was gonna hold this one til the end, just bc I like be pb, but for that very reason I jumped into it today.

Aroma. Delicious

Mixes easy but not as easy as gingerbread cookie. Look it’s being super picky of me to even say it took longer than the gb cookie. In the grand scheme of things it mixed easily but you can decide in the video if that was a long time to mix. Personally I have zero issues. No clumping either.

Consistency: not as thick as GB cookie but tbh I almost always use h2o so I never expect the thickest of shakes this way.

Texture: creamy and smooth

Taste: just like a pb cup eaten properly. You get the pb taste first interlaced with a chocolate taste there the whole time. Couple things I really liked with pb cup were: 1. You could actually get a roasted taste, which isn’t always the case with pb flavors. 2. The pb is dominant as it should be but there is always that chocolate presence not just in the aftertaste.

Pb is my absolute favorite flavor. I consider it a staple that I always have on hand. Everyone has different preferences which is what’s great about individuality but here are my “staple” proteins:
1. Chocolate and variations of
2. Vanilla and variations of.
3. Pb based flavor
4. Strawberry
5. Cinnamon bun/snickerdoodle types
6. Birthday cake

Sure bc might be a niche flavor as could be said about pb and cinnamon but just laying out what I almost always have on hand.

Out of all the different pb I’ve had this is the best incorporating a chocolate taste with it. Prob comes in 2nd if counting non-chocolate pb flavoring.

10/10 rating.

These sound great! Never had any doubts that OL would take prote1n to a new level!

I have to ask for my wife and swolemate, with the pastry flakes and cookie pieces are the prote1n flavors gluten free?

Olympus Labs Whey Protein Blueberry Pastry

Taste

Blueberry Pastry – At first I thought this would be a dominant blueberry and pastry aftertaste, but it was actually vice versa. Your taste buds are initially presented with a buttery baked good that has a cinnamon sugar vibe to it. If I were to break this down into ratios I would put it at a 70% pastry and 30% blueberry mixture. The biggest bonus of this flavor was there was no artificial flavor or blueberry presence the flavor was absolutely pure in both aspects. This is a flavor that is very refreshing to drink that reminded me of a snicker doodle blueberry pastry mix.

Mixability
For each taste test I am going to mix one sample packet with 6-8oz of Almond/Cashew Milk. I will then blend it in my ninja blender. I want to keep each review consistent to see if there is any deviance in thickness and consistency between the flavors. Protein shakes are also the most utilize way of consuming whey protein.
During my experience on the samples I will say it mixed thicker then regular whey or isolate protein, but not as thick as casein. This would be right in the middle that would resemble a blend. My guess is there are hints of Milk Protein Isolate or a touch of casein. If you want a thick and dense shake I would say 4-6oz would suit you very well, if you like a thinner consistency go with 8-12oz.

Formula
There was no formula, macros, or calories listed for the protein. What I can say is that due to how it mixed on the thicker side I can guess this a blend (not 100% sure). Knowing Olympus labs thrives off being on the cutting edge of their formula’s they would only go that route to back what research shows is optimal.

Olympus Labs Whey Protein Fruity Cereal

Taste

Fruity Cereal – The second I took my first sip the first thing that shot in my head was Trix. I thought due to the cereal and marshmallow inclusion I would get a lucky charms replica, but this was sweeter then that. For those who have a vicious sweet tooth and love drinking the milk after a bowl of cereal this would be a great flavor for you to have on hand. I enjoyed this one more then most due to the fact I grew up eating boxes of cereal a week and Trix was a childhood favorite.

Knowing Olympus labs thrives off being on the cutting edge of their formula’s they would only go that route to back what research shows is optimal.

Thank you Ricky10! Please do elaborate more on the flavor. Perhaps an addendum added to the video. You displayed some mad serious shake weight and chugging skills bro!
Written review is up with flavor highlights.

I should be able to edit in some additional footage at the end of the video to give more taste feedback.

Yeah...I think I overdid it with the shaker action! I guess it is just habit from being accustomed to less soluble products. Often times, I can do all that and more..yet still end up with unmixed powder or chunks. I usually don’t chug the entire thing like that either. Apparently I thought I was suddenly involved in some sort of frat party drinking game.

It was my first video...ever! I suppose it could have been worse..haha

No worries at all man. You did a great job and provided me with with a nice chuckle in the process:bigok: Thank ya sir. If we ever go out drinking, I would be in big trouble if you can knock down a beer like that;). And, you actually showed the product in the video=winning.

I’m thinking Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup will be my numero uno, easily, judging by the reviews thus far. Then fruity cereal. Gingerbread cookie intrigues me a lot. I’m excited that we put a twist on the flavors rather than going with the usual generic flavors.

My wife did eventually try it and liked it. Unfortunately, my wife recorded vertically with the phone, hence the weird borders on each side. Recording video reviews was not our calling in life...

I reviewed the Gingerbread Cookie flavor.

Mixability:

I mixed the scoop of protein with 10 oz of water. It mixed on the thick side, even in water, which was great to see. I wish I had mixed it with milk, as it would have been completely perfect. Even with the water, though, it was very creamy and light on my tongue. It had real texture and mixed perfectly. There were some little cookie floaters that were obviously supposed to be there. They were nice little treats.

Taste:

Amazing. Truly. I am a huge cinnamon fan. I even put ground cinnamon in my coffee. One of my favorite desserts are cinnamon buns. When the shake hits my mouth, it hit with 50/50 cinnamon and cookie. Then there was a nice aftertaste of what I can only describe as the flavor of icing. When I was first trying it, my mind was fixating on cinnamon buns, but as time went on and I focused more, I started to think of an iced gingerbread man. It's not overpowering, but really delivers on the cinnamon, which again makes me so, so happy. It's like Thanksgiving dessert in a glass.

Profile:

The profile and macros weren't given to us, so I put my keto diet in jeopardy for this opportunity. Of course it was worth it!

Overall score: 9/10

I can guarantee you that I don't need to try the other flavors. When I buy my first tub, it will be Gingerbread Cookie. The cinnamon fan in me couldn't be more excited.

Interesting to see that a lot of you opted to blend the protein with the inclusions, it will definitely be a delight to test this protein with different sources like water, coconut milk, milk, blended / non blended..so much versatility and this is just the bonus, the best part is the innovative formula!

Don’t forget to mention me and the rest of the OL team in your acceptance speech.

But on a serious note, does anyone remember the days of “OL makes great supplements but the taste is meh...”

I have to say, it’s been neat watching the brand expand and grow. AM feedback has helped our growth. Our formulas have always been cutting edge and innovative. It’s great to see our flavors getting so much positive feedback.

Personally, I can’t wait to have that mocha in my hand.

Olympus Labs Whey Protein Mocha Cereal

Taste

Mocha Cereal– Mocha is defined as a variant of coffee made of espresso and hot milk with added chocolate. Upon tasting the protein powder the coffee is present but faint. For those who are coffee lovers this may mark off a few points, but if you don’t care for coffee this will be pleasant. There is just enough chocolate and a ton of caramel to make this the correct correlating flavor. The little added krispies give this a nice texture and consistency when blended in a ninja to give it an enhanced sweetness. If you were to mix this in s regular shaker cup it would be like drinking the milk of General Mills Mocha Crunch Cereal.

I just had the mocha.
It is easily the BEST of the 5..I am partial to coffee, but you get a huge caramel flavor, a chocolate undertone and the coffee aftertaste.
You could call the flavor Starbucks Mochachino and i would believe it.

Olympus Labs Whey Protein Gingerbread Cookie

Taste

Gingerbread Cookie –This flavor threw me off guard for a bit because the cinnamon aspect dominates the gingerbread flavor. The good news is you get all aspects associated with a gingerbread cookie. The best part is you can taste the molasses and icing of a glazed cookie in the aftertaste. Not only was OL able to hit every aspect they did a great job on complimenting all the flavors without having one spice overpower the rest. This was a unique flavor, which was done leaps and bounds above other Gingerbread protein powders that have hit the market.

Olympus Labs Whey Protein Peanut Butter Cups

Taste

Peanut Butter Cups – It is hard to mess up a peanut butter cup, especially if you are American who loves chocolate and peanut butter. This flavor is complimented very well with neither the chocolate nor peanut butter overpowering each other. The overall ratio is split down the middle to give you the best of both worlds. You can taste a hint of roasted peanuts and a salty aspect that really enhances the overall flavoring of the protein powder. OL did a good job here and really will be a contender with a saturated market of peanut butter cup and peanut butter chocolate flavors.

Blueberry pastry:

First off I apologize this definitely was not my best video. In fact I went on reviewing the product for another 1.5 minutes after the clip ends but I had to trim it bc I instinctively went into comparison mode. Which sucks bc I had some good stuff in there not related to the comparison too. I didn’t want to add that part bc clip would’ve looked edited which demeans the whole point of seeing someone’s take on camera with no previous experience. Anyhow sorry about that.

Sweet fresh blueberry aroma. Not pungent but just a wafting aroma, very pleasant to the smell.

Mixed fine. A little protein stuck to the glass but after a quick extra stir all good to go.

Consistency:thicker than one would expect from water based mixing. I think this would be nice and thick with 2% or even almond milk.

Texture: like the other two very smooth and creamy. I sense a trend that this element was specifically designed by r and d. Love this aspect for sure.

Taste: I found the blueberry subtle yet apparent. Probably the least artificial of any blueberry flavored product I’ve tried protein or otherwise. Amazing job replicating a true blueberry flavoring. There’s a definite icy glaze sense like I got with the gingerbread cookie. Together with the crispies it was a refreshing change of pace flavor.

I can definitely see myself enjoying Thus on a hot summer day after a hard workout.

Rating: 8 of 10
