Hello everyone and welcome to my log..

Thanks a million to Performax and R1balla for this chance to try their intra-workout product Powermax XT

Loaded up with all these goodies here:

The combination of Aminos, Creatine and hydration should provide a nice combo for great workouts.

Stats
03 yr old male, 171lbs @~13%bf. I workout 3-4 days week after work around 5pm

Pretty common split such as:
Mon: Back/bis
Tues:Chest Tris
Wednesday Rest
Thursday shoulders
Friday Rest
Saturday Legs
Pretty simple scheme usually at 4 sets, 8-12reps @ 70-80% of 1 rep max.

Expectations

I am hoping too see increased strength, quicker recovery between sets and more endurance.

First Impression

The flavor is Orange Dream which is something I probably would not seek out to purchase. Like many people I avoid orange, green and yellow lol. That being said the aroma is strong and delicious! I tried a little dip with my finger and I was pleasantly surprised. Strong and accurate. Although I don't think I pickup much of the "dream" which I assume would be cream like in a creamsicle.

I listened to a few other loggers and went with the swirl method instead of shaking it. It does foam up pretty good making it tough to get the good stuff into your belly. After swirling it seemed to mix ok. Some settled mix in the bottom so I swirled more intensely, this worked.
I actually really like the flavor alot!

I killed the workout but can't say I noticed too much yet. More info to come in the future.

Today and tomorrow are rest days dues to running the Tough Mudder on saturday!! I don't want to be sore or in a weakened state! I am thinking about taking a scoop pre- tough mudder but not sure if I will reap any benefits.

Maybe an expert can chime in on that???

Thanks for reading!!

I honestly do not understand what the issue is though. I mean, I get it... but to me, it isn't a big deal. I use aminos that foam up also. I just drink it half way, fill it back up (intra workout) and keep drinking lol doesn't bother me.

Not A huge problem. But it does make it more difficult to drink and get all the product into the mix. I wonder if I got a container that only holds say 24 oz and put 21oz in it, technically there wouldn't be much room for foam.. I wonder if it would build up pressure?

Yeah that's what i'm doing it. at first i was kind of scared that it would blow the lid off the shaker, aka BSN no explore 2 and 3, but like you said, in a smaller shaker there's no room for foam. once the initial foam disappears, you can shake it again to make sure nothing stays in the bottom of your cup

The key is how you mix it. Don't shake it up and down, and don't do anything fast. Sort of swirl the bottle with the powder and liquid in it, think imitating the motion mixing it with a spoon would do. Then maybe just tilt it back and forth. It actually mixes very easily and completely in my experience, so there's no need to go crazy shaking it. I just mixed 1 scoop in a 32oz Gatorade bottle with 20oz water, and using the above method, foam was minimal, and the mix was complete and thorough. The foam was not that much, and went away/down after a few minutes. I have some pics and a video if anyone needs help visualizing it.

No major updates. I decided not use powermax as pre-workout for tough mudder. The race was fun as hell except for both calves cramped around mile 8. Terrible pain. Hurting like hell today.

Yeah, still hurts to the touch and still walking around flat footed trying not flex the foot.

Yesterdays workout was pretty sweet though. I have a small 16 oz shaker that use now. Nice and easy, just fill it 98% with water and foam is a minimal issue!

Chest day of course. This was a ultimate chest builder exercise I found, Second week trying it.

BB Flat Bench, 4 sets @ 5-8reps @ 80%, last set hit 160lbs for 6 reps, new best,
DB Incline press, 4 sets @ 8-12reps, Hit 60's for 10 , best by 5lbs
BB Incline press, 4 sets 6-10 reps, failed at 115lb @ 3 reps the last set, feeling smoked at this point
Dips, (chest version) Got 1 rep... I can't believe how used I felt. Massive failure. Couldn't even do a pushup!!
DB Flat Bench, 4 sets @ 10-12 reps LOL!, I tried 42.5lbs and got 4, tried 40lbs and got 6, rested for over 3 minutes and hit 8, then gave it everything I had with a little bit of momentum and got 11 the last set. ABSOLUTELY DEAD!

Even though this is the second week on this scheme, it seems to be effective as the skin around the chest is tighter.

Powermax kept me mentally in the game, and seemed to help push through.

Absolutely loving the flavor!

Nice work man. Glad you are enjoying it. I was skeptical of the orange flavor as well. Easy to mess up. But I really enjoy it. I tried it in a berry flavored Ozarka water and the flavor mixes perfectly.

Thanks.

Last night was a good one too! I am sore AF today. Woke up with crazy tightness in chest, had to stretch to get rid of it.

Back Night
4 Set 8reps pullups. Got 8,8,8, 6 Last wek only got 8,8,6,6
4 Set 10rep One arm DB row, worked to 70lbs for 8!
4 set 8 rep incline bench DB row, worked to 60lbs
4 Set 8rep T Bar row, worked with 90lbs, only got 5 last set
3 sets of austrian pull ups, 6reps
2 sets empty barbell curls
3 sets of outside/inside grip preacher curls with 30lbs of plates, did 8/6, 8/6, 6/3
2 sets incline bench DB curls, with 22.5lb failed at 5, then 20lbs for 7reps
High cable curls @ 12kg i believe. 2 sets of 6

Absolutely smoked!

Right arm is a little achy today around the elbow.. Feeling good.

At no point during the workout did I feel beat, I could just keep going, rest sets were used, but didn't feel the need most of time. Good stuff!

I filled up my 16oz shaker, drank about 6oz, added 6oz and kept drinking. The flavor is strong enough that it still tasted great!

Also, It has been a while since I weighed in. Seems a big increase in weight and some fat lol.
177lbs @ 15.5%bf according to my Omron fat analyzer.

Yep!

Hammies are still a little sore today.

I have to say yesterday was one of the best lifting sessions I have had in a long time! Absolutely went ham.

This week I wanted to down the reps but up the weight. Then next week up the reps with the same increased weight.

As we saw. 160 for 6 reps was my best, and 185 was my 1 rep max. This has been beaten sorta

Flat BB Bench, 4 sets @ 90% or 1rm 3-5 reps. When I warmed up with 135, it was the lightest 135 I ever felt. So I went for 100% of my 1rm which is 185lbs, not only got 1 rep, but I got all 3! I was able to repeat for all 4 sets! I was freaking out!!
Incline DB Press, I was feeling frosty so tried 75lbs, only got 2. Stepped down to 70 got 5, then 65 for 6. Still awesome!
Incline BB, I thought I would be smoked, but no, the awesomeness continued. Smashed last weeks weight at 135lbs and got 6 reps all 4 SETS!!!
Dips (Chest Version)This is where I felt super human!!, Last week I was able to get 1 ugly rep, Completely different yesterday. I not only got 8 reps the first set, I was able to get 10 the second, 8 the 3rd and 6 the last set!!! ( I assume since the reps were lower in all the presses, i was able to perform longer)
Last, but not least:
Flat DB Press, Last week was funny for failing at 42.5lbs, I didnt know what to expect after everything. but Again I impressed myself with 4 sets of 8 reps at 55lbs!! UNREAL

AS we can see I was able to move higher weight for slightly less reps. I have never been able to bench 185 for more than 2 and certainly not for multiple sets.

I love drinking Powermax every other set.

At no point did I feel weakened , or doubting myself. This was a breakthrough workout for me.

Good question.

I expected to be sore as hell today seeing as how last weeks chest workout resulted in me waking up with a painful tight chest.
I have to say this week is nowhere near as bad! I am hardly sore to the touch. I will know a little later today for sure, but as of now its reduced.

T Bar row, 4 sets worked to 100lbs for 8! New high again! Feeling really good about the workout now!

Saturday was a sweet day! We went for 1rm day on bench. I am up to 195lbs! It went up fairly well. I felt like I could get 205 and tried. I was wrong! Could barely move it. That will be a big day for me to get over 200lbs! I think We will go 4-6 weeks before testing again.

I continued to put in a decent chest exercise with keeping reps low and weights a little higher.

Powemax continues to let me work hard without feeling the need to take long rest periods. I can get more done in less time and still have good power output.

The chest workout was a success.

I was going for 5 rep sets. And hit all 5 reps for all 4 sets at 175lbs!! This was almost exactly my 90% of 1rm.
Incline bench I went for 145lb and got 1 set for 5. New pr.
Incline db I got 65lbs for 5!

I been lifting with friends, but this one was just be and the weights. I feel like this product helps me keep my head in the game, as I felt pretty damn motivated to lift on my own!

Very nice workout! Sore and tight yesterday.

Saturday morning Back and Bi's went awesome. Back to lifting with my bros. Went for a good 1.5hr workout without ever feeling like I needed to stop.

Shoulder day was another win.

Seated pressed 65lbs for 4! New PR
Barbbell pressed 115 for 3, than 105 for 5s'. 105 feels light now.

Rest of the workout again went great.

Hit Arnold presses at 50lbs.
Lateral raised at 27.5lbs
Upright rows at 35lbs
Shrugs at 70lbs
Bent over seated rear delt flys at 15lbs.

Lots of volume for shoulder and crushed it!

Last nights workout was what I call a break through workout. I have no idea what the hell I did differently during the day, but I had the most amazing workout session to date.

I had an unimaginable amount of endurance compared to normal..

Chest Day:
Started off with 4 sets 3 reps @ 185lbs !! This was my 1 rep max when I started!
Incline BB, Hit 3 sets of 5 reps @ 145lbs! Another high!
Incline DB: Thinking I was going to be fatigued I picked up 45lb dumbbells to make sure I had strength, not only did I have strength, They were LIGHT. I moved up to 55lb, STILL LIGHT! Thought what the hell I am going for a PR, Grabbed 75lbs and got 4 reps!! 10lb PR Went down to 70lbs and got 6!
Chest dips are next. After tough presses, dips are usually difficult. NOT THIS DAY! I busted out 11 reps!! Insane! Got 10,than 9. Then I decided to try with a 25lb plate and got 4 reps! I couldn't believe it!
The last movement is flat bench DB press. I am USUALLY fried by this point. I grabbed 50lbs and 8 reps went EASY! My workout bros were wondering what the hell I am on! I moved to 60lbs and NAILED 8 again! I thought to myself wtf is going on?!!? I went balls the walls and grabbed 80lb dumbbells, With assistance on my left arm getting started, I busted out 4 reps!!! This was unbelievable for me!!
After 1 hour and 20 minutes I still wanted to keep going, had no feelings of fatigue or tiredness. So I hit a super set of
Straight bar pushdows and single cable tricep extensions. 8,8,8 for 3 sets. My chest and triceps were blown up crazy!

I indulged myself at lunch time so maybe that had something to do with it. I have no idea what got into me.

I kept my intake of powermax xt on point and that certainly helped! A totally unreal workout!!

Today should be a chest day.

I am down to about 4 servings left.

I will be wrapping this log up soon.

From that past I know that the absence of a product also helps one realize the effects. I will certainly be able to tell if workouts will suffer.

Sadly it's time to end this log.

I never really used a product designed to be an intra workout supplement. I am very familiar with pre and post workout supplements, so I was looking forward to see how Powermax XT would enhance my workouts.
I am happy to report that I enjoyed some serious workouts which has yielded some amazing results for me. I was able to establish new PRs' all over the place. Most notable was my chest 1 rep max day this past saturday. I have never been able to bench over 200lbs and I did just that on saturday, I actually got 210 clean! Also I am up to 179.5lbs @ 15.7%bf which nets me a 2lb gain without fat going up a ton. I am finally over 150lbs of lean body mass which is the best I have ever seen.

Powermax XT was able to maximize my power output allowing me to get a greater volume in less time. This was important to me since I get a short hour for my workouts. I feel like Powermax also reduced the feeling of needing to rest. Honestly it made me feel like a machine. The flavor is very enjoyable which basically makes it a treat while lifting. All in all I would rate this product a 9 out of 10! I am now sold on intra-workout supps and will most likely be purchasing it soon.

Thanks again R1balla for this awesome chance to run another awesome product from Performax!
