The epic food porn thread

Place is near my Mom's house so ate them there. She had a bite of the wunderbar and loved it. All were well done, best gourmet place I've had. I'd actually go back even though they were $2.50 each ha

$2.50 CAD? That's like $0.25 haha

I paid $12 for my half dozen last time I was up in buffalo. Pretty close
Slice of carrot cake was $3.50 on top of that. But you know.. That carrot cake = GOAT
Can't argue on that Carrot Cake!

I had a baker in town make me her homemade carrot cake. Going to try it tomorrow. I doubt it will touch Paula's. She runs a local bakery joint, but it is hard to find some of the food quality that buffalo has to offer. Especially in a city like Erie.

Blueberry crumble... No idea what's in it, my aunt made it for a family get together. Goodness best thing I've tasted in so long lol

Paualas is like $1 lol

I paid over 15$ for the dozen + Carrot cake last time I was there with you. Unless the young girl who cashed me out was ripping me off....
Hell Mighty Fine here in Erie is over $10 for a half dozen, and they are no where as good as Paula's.
I think bbartsche pays almost $20 for a half dozen at Broad Street

I thought you were buying 6... no wonder. $10-12 plus the cost of the cake makes sense.

Broad street is def a gourmet place though.

Typo was 6 (meant half dozen) Stupid mobile.
I agree BS Is gourmet, I wonder how much Bagel Nook charges for their donuts.
I don't think Purple Glaze is no where near as much as BS, but those are also very very good donuts from NJ (I Don't think you got there)

Gotcha

I tried Broad St but not purple glaze.

My 2 cents
Broad street --- more gourmet with toppings and fillings
Purple glaze - better overall quality and less fillings and toppings.

Broad street the donut seems kinda dry and they try to cover it up with a pound of sugar and frosting (which I am sure Marty is all about)

Both are great but if you value quality purple glaze will be the play. @bbartache can probably attest to this having the fresh I had them shipped to me so it wasn't like having them fresh out of the bakery

Broad street were ok but small and expensive. I'd never go back if I was in the area.

Nope. I was a $25 Uber ride away and had ~1-2hrs free time before I had to be back in the area I was in so took a pass.

And what flavors we’ve created! We’ve got Apple Fritter, Strawberries & Cream, and the Bacon & Maple sensation.

Word is these may be exclusive to Kroger stores and they should hit shelves as early as today (based on location)

Who wants to send me a box?

I saw a guy on IG had to ask his employees at store because some don't have them on shelves, but they are in the back and not checked into inventory

Shot you an email! No Kroger near me. Thanks

Pb&J Oreos? Finally a limited Oreo I'm interested in. I've been skipping them since they came out with the Birthday Cake Oreos.

holy hell you missed some good ones.
Any that you remember in particular? I'll start keeping an eye out for them. Like any addict, I tried to stay away from Oreos in general because if I have a glass of milk, I kill them by the row.

Oh, and this is random but my wife asked me to grab her Oreos recently and I grabbed the Double Stuf. She said that she didn't like the double stuff and asked me to get the regular ones. I literally responded "Are you ****ing kidding me?" I thought they got rid of the original because the Double Stuf are that good. That's my baseline when no special flavors are involved.

My wife's the same...Her response "I don't really like the double stuff, I just like the regular". And she won't do the birthday cake bc "they're too sweet".... Its a freaking Oreo its supposed to be sweet.

most were limited so you wont be able to get them. Fruity crisp, cotton candy, caramel apple, jelly donut (still out), gingerbread (has been out each yr for xmas time last couple yrs), marshmallow crisp (rice krispy treat esque) were all solid. GOAT for me is the fruity crisp though. Cotton candy was an absolute sleeper tho as it was incredible even tho I doubt anyone expected it to be any good ha

I did have the red velvet cake Oreos. That's my second favorite cake behind carrot and couldn't pass it up. I suppose the next question is... has Oreo done a take on carrot cake?

No
But you can submit a flavor for a chance to win a ton a flavor on their webpage

A friend of mine already submitted carrot cake as his flavor of choice

My top 3:
1) Fruity Crisp
2) Reese PB
3) Cinnamon Roll

not in mouth? I'm disappointed lol

had to start somewhere ha.

Initial thoughts - excellent. can clearly taste both PB and J, cookies are almost unnoticeable in terms of dulling the flavor. Definitely heavier on the jelly aspect as the pb is a milder flavoring (but still enough to make it out and when eaten together you get the nice mashup of both). Jelly is nearly identical to the flavor in the jelly donut ones. Easy top 5 for me.Maybe even top 3. Doesn't unseat fruity crisp tho for the top spot for sure.

As i was eating it reminded me of some other pb&j candy or treat ive had before but i have yet to figure out what it is... thought maybe the jif cereal but still not certain that's it.

I'd give them an easy 8.5/10, maybe even a 9 after eating a few more. Could easily crush the box of these without pause.

Krispy Kreme Reese Peanut Butter Donut
.
Packing 400 calories (24g Fat, 42g Carbs, 7g Protein). This chocolate frosted and peanut butter filled donut is a heavy hitter. On top it contains peanut butter chip and chopped peanut blend, and finished with a drizzle of chocolate and peanut butter.
.
Taste - We all know Krispy Kreme donuts are pretty light in texture, nothing like a mom and pop bakery where the doughiness and density truly shine. The chocolate frosting is decent for a chain restaurant, but again nothing that will blow you away. KK went hard on the filling as mine was loaded from side to side, and the dual glaze on top was a nice touch. The peanut butter chips are slightly melted if you get these fresh off the belt because the donut is still piping hot. The combination of all the peanut butter and chocolate flavoring will be a slam dunk if you are a huge choc/pb fan. The nuts add a nice crunch, but I could do without them. Overall this is easily one of KK's best donuts.
.
Grade: 8.5/10

Random goodies:
Coconut Caramel cupcake
Salted Caramel cookie sandwich
Brownie cookie sandwich w/ Oreo cream
Chocolate cupcake w/ Cherry Cheesecake filling
