Hairygrandpas log, fat- and older people welcome!- diet, training, cycles, healing

Lol. I wrote that last post, looked out the window and saw a large ass skunk right in the middle of my yard.

I got pissed and shot the fcker

I grabbed a shovel and scooped it up and walked it out into the horse pasture where I've got a burn pit

I tossed the skunk in the burn pit

Somehow, during this process, I managed to get sprayed.

That SUCKS!

Mythbusters had this skunk episode. Tomato juice got rid of the skunk stink.

Changing the subject...

Anyone else noted that we are weak mofos?
Yesterday I was carrying some grocery bags and they were heavy as fugg.
When I complained, my wife carried them the same distance without breaking a sweat.
I noted that "functional weakness" in a lot of situations, even my gym bag gets heavy and I have to switch arms.

May switch to crossfit.... nah, kidding...

How dare you! We don't even joke about that shyt.

Tomato juice does work. problem it takes a lot because you have to soak in it. assuming most of your body got sprayed.
took a couple of Tomato Juice baths 1/2 juice / 1/2 water. burn or toss your clothes. When I was a kid we use to trap coyotes to get rid of them and the dam skunks would get in the traps sometimes.

Lol. My log is so boring compared to yours. You guys crack me up! Lol

No updates about my workouts for awhile.

I screwed up my diet too often and decided to do a different approach.

Here the Rules:
-No train - no meal , eating only allowed post workout, in a 1 hour window.
-carbs are kept as low as the pre-workout insulin allows
-occasional protein shakes throughout the day are allowed

Training will be focused on maintaining current muscle mass.

Cycle:
500mg test-e/w
220mg 1-ad/day
10iu slin pre-wo
cjc 1295 2mg/w
cjc no dac 200mcg post wo
MK-677 10mg/day

ancillaries: huperzine, fish oil, adex, tudca, nac, saw palmetto, l-leucine, karbolyn, BP meds

You've been hanging around Hit for too long!

I was thinking about IF but I get pissy without food if I don't take hard stimulants to crush my appetite and boost my mood, then once I drop the stims I can't function for a couple of days without them lol. Good luck dude!

You love to go full on extreme my friend. I really think you would do well on true Carb Backloading with your eating style and tendency to go nuts for stuff on occasion. Have 2-3 very small meals throughout the day of only protein, fat and fibrous greens. Workout and crush your calories after in a big meal with lots of carbs.

Works great for guys with our type of metabolism and you get to feed your cravings after every resistance training session.

Hasn't Kiefer come out admitted he was flat out wrong about Carb Backloading? Or maybe that was Carb Nite?

Hmmmmm... I will have to look that up. I have not read into it much since I read the book a year or two ago. I can't imagine he did since everything he says was all backed up by multiple studies. Now I am going to go check it out but I can tell you from doing it before that it works extremely well for recomping while keeping ad even gaining strength. Carb Backloading that is. Carb Night was a quick fat loss program not really done for lifters however he modified it for competitive bodybuilders by giving 2 refeeds a week. It was very effective in that aspect as well. So now I am going to have to go look that up and see if I can find what you are talking about.

By the way definitely not saying that it is an optimum diet, but when done CORRECTLY, it works very well!!! Especially for those who need to work on insulin sensitivity and other things. I am a dietary agnostic though, there are great nutrition plans all over and they all have a target group that they will work best for. In the end though, the best diet for someone is not based on the results if done perfectly, but by how easy it is for them to adhere to.

Now I am off to research what you just mentioned because if he said it was incorrect in some way I want to know why or what part.

"Dietary agnostic", LOL ! Will keep doing what I'm doing to see how that goes. No train = No meal.
So far, I went every day training, because I wanted to eat, lol.

I did not follow through my planed cycle. I skipped T-bol and introduced Anavar. Will stay on Anavar for as long as I'm cutting.
Dropped all slin and HGH stuff. My BP got out of whack from it, even on BP meds and diuretics, currently BP is almost controlled.

BUT, someone in another fitness forum said this:

Kiefer doesn't admit he is wrong... he basically says he addresses some carb choices in his new book CBL 2.0
Nothing was outright wrong or completely off.. His stand on insulin and carb timing seems to remain

One thing that makes me think he was wrong is that he touted the upcoming 2.0 version for quite a while yet it never materialized.

So...???

How high you running the anavar? I just got me some for my next cycle....

That blurb is SO MISLEADING!!!! He is NOT saying he is wrong about Carb Backloading but simply he has learned that there are other factors at play also. None of it takes away from the premise of Carb Backloading which he says in the interview. It is a good listen but no it is far from him saying the premise is wrong. Just that he has come to see that other factors are also a consideration, and not just the insulin as he thought before. Basically without going into it too much because it will be in both Carb Nite 2, and BackLoading 2 as far as the explanation goes. However he has found it comes down to what happens when there is an abundance of either fat or carbs at the same time multiple times throughout the day creating an accumulative effect on storage. Basically the body manages the energy differently in that scenario and stores some of it. He doesn't go too into it but the timing of it keeping carbs separate from the higher fats part of the day has something to do with it.

Funny, it was the one thing I always thought was a bit off about CBL which is that it said it was all about insulin release but. However, I also knew an 8 oz steak will bump up insulin just as much as 50 grams of carbs from oatmeal. SO I wondered what the other difference was. This new information just shows me that his research is on the right track even more so. Plus the fact he can say he was wrong about something and this is what he has learned gives him more credence than most in my opinion.

I think that blurb was there to stir up traffic like what it did getting me to go see the other guy's youtube channel.

He said in here that now he is working on CarbNite2, and CBL2 but CarbNite will be out first because he said you will need to read it to understand CBL2.0 completely.

Good to know, Gramps. It does seem strange, however, that he's waited so long to release V2 of either program. He's been talking about it for years.

I don't follow anyone's program. Eat less - move more, chose the right food. Simple. :)
It's not rocket science.

Update on my cut:

No train - no meal is going well!
Somehow the Anavar is curving my appetite, that is good!
I usually drink alcohol only once a week to socialize.
Had some alcohol last Saturday followed by 2 days of feeling lethargic, even though I used at least 1gr of Tudca afterwards.
Have to cut alcohol out completely...damn.
My training is intuitive, touching each muscle group twice per week, doing 1 heavy set per exercise -and volume for arms with moderate - medium weights.
Knees getting slowly better since I train legs again, will up it a notch.

1g NAC before AND after drinking. As drinking depletes gluthione

I take NAC daily, 600mg morning/600mg at bedtime. It is pretty cheap and can be run safely ED. My last AST/ALT readings were super low, despite the occasional glass (or 3) of wine or whiskey (depends on my mood :)). I just had blood drawn this morning so we will see where all my #s are when the results come in, likely tomorrow sometime.

Interesting. My ALT was up last time but the doc explained it wasn't a major issue. Said it could be a strong drink or a hard workout up to 24 hours prior that caused it. Maybe it's time to add NAC to my staples...

It is pretty cheap (I get mine from AMZ). 250 capsules (600mg each) was $18.25 (delivered). That is $4.5 per month.

Before adding NAC to my daily vitamin regime both AST/ALT were high 20's/low 30's (nothing to really worry about, but I was going to start some PH/SARMs and wanted to be protected, playing it safe). The last results (after the PH run) were 16 for both.

Cool. I'll give it a shot. My AST was 37, but ALT was 54. I do drink when not on PH, so it's probably a worthy addition to my arsenal. Thanks!

I was at like 29 and 33 before I started. It is so cheap, even though I didn't "need" it, it was a good investment/safety net. I just felt it was better to have my #s as low as possible that way a spike (for whatever reason) has a longer way to go to be concerning :). Everything I have read says it is perfectly fine/safe to take NAC daily (unlike Tudca which can be detrimental to take daily, unless you are under stress and truly "need" it).

Isn't that why we're all here? So we can let others convince us what supplements and other goodies to use? :)

I'm here to see others suffer.
Bad shoulders, hips, elbows... it would make me happier if more people had bad knees.

Just ordered nac....man, I'm always giving in to peer pressure!

Read these two posts. Realized there was something I hadn't tried. Frantically searching Nac on amz.

Whew......that was a close one.

Lucky I don't have bad knees one does extend to far but doesn't hurt at all. Fuked shoulders though, bursitis in elbows but that isn't chronic it comes and goes.

mmorso needs some NAC with his drinking habits. ;)

Lol. I drink maybe once a week these days...

Bobs been coaching me and I'm getting some results... he's fcking good

On the subject of my drinking, when I emailed him my calorie tracker for the week, he replied "you need to look in the mirror and give yourself a guy check."

Idk maybe I do have a problem haha

We don't have too many queers here so maybe you and answer something for me... wtf is it with you people and Barbara Streisand?

Good observation -and question, I always wondered what she has that I don't have.

Ok ass hole. Hahaha but seriously who the hell is that person any ways.

She is the one that looks like:

Wasn't she married to Roger Daltrey?

EDIT: Patiently waiting for some of these young pups to ask who Roger Daltrey is/was. LOL
