Before I go down this rabbit hole... Should I?

I'm 30 years old, male, and have been lifting for a little over a year (basic full-body heavy compounds 3x a week). I began lifting because I felt my libido was lacking and was hoping to improve my general health to see what happened. I didn't think much of my lackluster gains since my diet wasn't completely dialed in, but my libido wasn't improving, so I saw a few endocrinologists and finally a urologist and blood work confirmed my testosterone production was essentially nil. I'm now working with the urologist to administer T-cyp injections until we find out what my weekly dosage should be.

I live in the US and so any acquisition of steroids outside of my doctor is illegal. Now, that's not necessarily something I'm against, but I definitely do not want to go buying something from an untrusted source and injecting who knows what into my body so regularly.

Given that I am not willing to go the illegal route, should I even consider a "cycle"? I put that in quotes because I have done very little research. If you guys tell me that I should consider it, research will begin. I guess it comes down to whether it makes any sense to stockpile what my prescription provides and use it in cycles instead of the prescribed dosage. Would that help at all? Would it cause lots of unwanted side effects? Would I get just as much benefit from not cycling and just consistently following the prescription and working out and eating right?

Thanks!

Get everything straightened out by the doc first. Then get your bf to at least 15%. Now start doing some research.

Oh, I definitely wouldn't consider this until I've:
a) Given the doc time to find the dosage that stabilize my T levels to "normal"
b) Let myself ride that dosage for a few months and see if any side effects manifest

Can anyone answer the question of whether it's better to steadily be at ~1000 test versus stockpiling and running cycles?

I mean having test at the low thousands is good as it's going to give you what we would consider a "normal life" libido will deff be there and you will be able to make decent games in the gym . What I would do is once you have got all your ducks in a row do a "blast" then cruise back at your normal test dosage aka cycle for a period of time at a higher test dosage to make gains and then go back to your prescribed dosage . Plenty of guys on trt do this and as long as you watch your health markers such as bp , lipids , etc you are good to go . But get everything sorted out , workout and get serious about training and when you find you are no longer making good gains off your prescribed trt dosage then you can consider doing a blast

Thanks, Joe. I'm so looking forward to getting back to "normal". The last 2 or 3 years have sucked majorly.

Once I have the therapy dosage dailed in with the doc, I'm guessing I'll end up with a prescription for enough that if I play around with pharmacy pick-up timing I'll be able to slowly stockpile some. Would I need anything aside from any extra T-cyp from my prescription for that blast?

Sure...Depending upon your dose you will also have asin or adex. The more test you run, the more e2.

Ah. So far it's just been a shot of t-cyp at the doctor's office, but I guess that makes sense that once my numbers are re-checked in a few weeks he may add stuff. Thanks for all the information!

If you are going to blast, then you will need an AI whether he prescribes you one for your "cruising" dosage or not.

Do you know the dose he gave you?

For most people, the temptation to do blast periods whilst on trt is irresistable. Can almost guarantee youll do it.

Well, I'm on week 1 of ugl test cyp 250mg/week along with a variety of veterinary grade injectables (adenosine 5,monophosphate, l-car, & l-arginine), and so far the only sides I've got is a craving for oats and apples in the morning. But that's my normal bfast, so...... DO IT!

You should go up to 500 mg a week. 250 is like a trt dose

I'm cruising on it for 12 months so....
100mg/week is a trt dose.

For the op:
a year of lifting is very small in the scheme of things. I'd say wait another 9 years of lifting consistently before blasting a cycle. Give your body plenty of time to max out gains, build tendon strength, etc on your puberty level testosterone.

I understand that I should give myself time to realize gains from being at normal levels of testosterone before I go and change anything, and I'm guessing it would take me a good while of stockpiling any extra to have enough to consider a blast, but you're joking when you say 9 years right?

No, you're only 30. Building quality mas/strength/technique takes time.
You'll have plenty to build off of for a while.
