Blueline and his new lifts

Found out a little bit ago I have a mandatory rest day tomorrow. Hoping to change that slightly and lift at work for a little pump. Then a good gym day on Thursday and then on the road Friday. So no gym again. Ugh.
 
Chest and arms today. Had to have an abbreviated workout due to time constraints. Nevertheless,

Lifetime Personal Record Accomplished!!!

325 for 1 on the flat bench!! Heaviest I've ever gone. And I effing crushed it! I felt freaking great after that. Hit some incline at 225 then followed my normal plan for the remainder chest and arms.
 
Yesterday was a decent day. I'm pretty sore. I've definitely increased my working weights. I've been trying to work more on strength and size movements right now. Highlights of yesterday were barbell rows 225x5x3
Flat bench 275x5x3
Seated military 185x8.
 
Lately I've been having some hip pain in my left hip. It's right smack dab in my hip. Not sure if it's some impingement or what. I didn't squat all last week and today it didn't feel to bad but I didn't want to over do it. So I only did 225x10x2. I had to do something to keep them in the game.

Highlight of today. New post surgery PR on deadlifts. 520x1

My overall strength is skyrocketing. I'm extremely satisfied and we're only half way through. Wednesday's are mandatory days off now. However I may be able to start getting in on Saturday mornings. I really need to start incorporating rack pulls again.

Sitting at 194. I am having the hardest time eating enough. I don't eat much on the weekends and I lose weight. I lost 4lbs this past weekend. Was 198ish on Thursday and Monday I was 193.5. This is ridiculous. I'm going to have to start making a significant amount of extra food with my dinners for now on. Lol.

how did 225 feel on the hip? DL of 520 holy crap!
 
Same, having hip tightness on my right hip. Can't seem to rest, stretch or work it away, no idea the cause. But I can't ever go heavy with an imbalance, usually just injuries me more :(

Felt much better than two weeks ago but now it's hurtin. Not sure if it's because of the squats, deadlifts, or cause I've been sitting In a chair at work for 3hrs.
520 felt pretty great. I'm more than 1/4 the way to adding another plate now!!

Yea boss. I feel ya. I just can't catch a break this year. I'm still getting four plates when I'm healthy. But between the minor hammie tear, the god awful cramping in my right quad and now this hip pain it's like I'm destined to fail. Lol. My body's saying you're getting stronger here here and here so I'm gonna take your gains from here. Lol.
 
All my major injuries had warning signs. I just sucked it up until I got injured, Listen to your body.
Trust me the hard part is acceptance, the fun part is finding new lifts, the bad part your workouts will take longer as you give up the good old compound lifts.
Note I never had a major hip problem. That must suck! That is a big a$$ joint.
Slipped 2'disc squatting, slipped 2 more doing weighted dips, tore my left bicept dead lifting, torn my labrum benching. As I have gotten older some lifts give me nasty cramps.

It was about two weeks before my vacation when I pulled 5 plates for the first time. I think. It never really went away. It would get a little better but not perfect. Well I really aggravated it today during deads. It's killing me. I've been using a tennis ball and the wall to try and rub it out. And a stick I picked up the other day for my legs. It feels great when I'm doing it. But when I stop it sucks. But I'm not gonna waste any time on this train dealing with injuries. I refuse to get injured. Lol.

I have never tried the tennis ball. Those damn rollers are awesome.
I bought a tense unit about 15 years ago for my lower back. I use the heck out of it. Probably spelled it wrong. Hell I use it on all kinds of muscle pain. I get a lot less back spasms when I use it regularly.
My son just bought a sweet one for like $80. I think I spent $400. But it's still going strong.

Today was my back and shoulders day. Had a decent workout. Built up a good sweat. I just wasn't feeling it in the gym today. We all have off days. Lol. I think because my back is aggravating me so much I was bummed I couldn't deadlift and I think that's why I wasn't feeling it. I ended up doing a bunch of rows and pull downs. Worked on my lats pretty hard. Then I did my shoulder stuff. I'm trying to go real high in reps for my rear delts. Like 20+. Did laying down reverse flys for the rear delts today and got a great squeeze. After about 70-80 minutes in the gym I was just done. I have a bunch of stuff to accomplish today at home. So That was long enough. Nothing really exciting happened today in the gym so I'm not gonna post numbers.

It was a good day but I wasn't feeling to great. Haven't been sleeping well.
 
Today was my lower power. Started warming up with leg extensions and curls. Then leg presses with just one plate each side. The "curl" racks were taken so I started with my dead this morning. Worked up for 495 and did a couple 1 rep sets. Was actually feeling pretty good.
I started in on my squats next. It's been probably 3.5 weeks since I actually did some good squats. Started warming up and felt great. 135x5x2. 225x5. Felt good. 315x5. Felt great. 365x3. Felt so good! 385x1. Getting better. 405x1. Felt so good. 415x1 was easy. I could have gone higher but I didn't want to push to hard. Lol. Finished with a ton of calf work and abs. It was a good day in the gym.

205 on t bar rows. Lay pull downs, rows, etc. did some rack pulls. Went up to 545x3. It was pretty heavy. Then I hit rear delt flys and front raises supersetted with standing calf raises. That's about it.

Yea man. I've slowed down my reps a lot to really focus on the movement and squeeze. I still do some real slow stuff periodically but not often. Just been having fun doing weights I've never really done before. Lol

Nerve damage in my hand from surgery and what not. Been having a bad last couple days. It happens often. But not normally when I'm lifting.

Sometimes it last for long. Sometimes not to bad. The degree of numbness varies too. sometimes it's super numb and actually hard to manipulate and sometimes it's just super tingly like when it's asleep.

just thing if you were rubbin one off and all of a sudden your hand goes numb!

Dude. For like 6 months it was completely numb. It was awesome. It was a new experience each day. Lmao

Thanks man. I'm officially stronger than I have ever been. I'm getting stronger all over. My lats are finally growing and I'm actually getting some trap development. It's not much. But it's there. Need to get a better angle on those. Still look pretty flat. Sure ain't no Alpha1agreda or smith_69
