Clomid and estrogen

Just trying to think this through. Clomid tricks the body into thinking it has low estrogen so it produces more test. More test means more estrogen right? So do estrogen levels rise as test levels rise and the body just doesn't know?

That is until clomid is stopped.

Yes clomid can significantly increase e2 levels, it does not do the same thing as an AI. A lot of men who are on clomid only trt also need to take low dose AIs or keep their clomid dose low.

My understanding is that clomid is an "inert" estrogen that binds to your estrogen receptors and competes with active estrogen. Not an expert just my understanding. I took it for a month for TRT and didn't have any estrogen sides. My T went from low 200s to just under 1000 but I was a raging a-hole and almost lost my job because of it.

You are partially correct, it basically prevents e2 from binding to certain receptors so they can't exert estrogenic effects and your body thinks you do not have any, hence it secrets more gnrh so you make more lh and get more test to aromatize. The problem is, it isn't really getting rid of your estrogen, the testosterone you are making is still aromatizing (the whole reason your body is making the testosterone), and it can at a high rate especially if your test is >1000 for a while. So you can have very high serum levels of e2, which can be a problem overtime, also the SERM (clomid) is not blocking the effects of e2 in all your tissues receptors, so this can be a problem. It is also the reason some people get rebound gyno.

Also tranquil, 4 weeks is not long for trt, that's like a PCT dose, did he switch you to test or did you just stop? If so I would get your levels tested again in a few months because they are unlikely to stay that high.(btw emotional lability, like in some cases being a raging a-hole, can be an estrogen side, but glad you didn't lose your job)

Yikes. Isn't there also something about the SBGH levels being affected so you have more free T but less binding?

My osteopath didn't test my e2 levels after but I was an emotional basket case and didn't feel any better. My workouts were no better, I didn't have any more energy or libido. Seemed pointless to continue. He prescribed a 30 day run at 12mg/day I think (half a standard tablet) so low dose. The plan was to check in after 30 days, test T levels again and decide whether to continue or move to gel or injection.

Some guys just don't tolerate clomid well, even if it raises your test numbers. If you don't have fertility concerns and you don't mind needles, switch to inject (also if it's financially viable) and you are correct clomid can raise SHBG

Like he said 12.5 mg, half a pharma tab, might not even need it everyday, are you running it with the m1t or in PCT?

Yeah it'll keep your test from converting over to estrogen. Test and estrogen are similar in nature so if the body thinks it's starved of estrogen I'll try to turn test in to estrogen to balance **** out, and when your **** is already out of balance it just tends to make things worse if you allow your body to have extra excess estrogen floating around. Low dose AI would be fine in my opinion

Get raloxifene instead.
