Blueline and his new lifts

Only did two things today. Squats and deads.

Squats were ok. Took me a bit to warm up but when I did I crushed 405. It felt so light. I had a few reps in me. I had only planned on attempting 405 so I stopped afterwards.

Deadlifts aren't impressive today. I warmed up a lot. Then did a few sets at 405. 2/5/4

Pretty spent after that. Ended up talking and losing my drive again. Oh well. My backs already so sore I'm looking forward to tomorrow's rest day. Lol

So instead of a mandatory rest day tomorrow I get to workout. Yay! I'm gonna hit chest and arms since my back is pretty sore. I got 295 pretty easily Monday and I'm not sore at all. I'm thinking I have at least 3-305 in me. So I'm gonna try 315. First time trying 315 in probably 2 years. Lol. What you think? Go for it? Or go safe and just get 300?

I had a mental plan to try it Thursday. But I'm not gonna pass up the opportunity to lift tomorrow. Lol. It's gotta be chest too. I think I can do it. I know i can do it!!

I just ate a bowl of reeses puffs. Lol. And at about 730 I'll have a protein shake and then I'll be at the gym at 9ish
 
Thanks for that justhere4comm I'm gonna play it by ear in the morning I think but I'll use that as a guideline. Maybe if I follow it I will definitely get it!

I warmed up with 1/2 of what I'm going to max. = 4 sets of 5 @ 160.


That seems like a pretty big jump. I've always just done slow increments to get the body used to the weight changes. You do it that way every time?

Did it for years. Back when I was powerlifting. didn't want to burn myself out. didn't want to go too light. Its old school, I'm sure there are better ways these days.

and go for 320, I don't like odd numbers.

Thanks man. That was the most comfortable I've ever felt doing 315. I definitely think I'm the strongest I've ever been right now.
 
Been having a good bit of lower back pain. Been really tight and hurts to stretch or roll it out. Moved to fast earlier and felt like I was about to really pull something. When I was looking in the mirror earlier it looked as though my lower back was kind of "larger" than normal. I asked my wife to dig her elbows in it for a minute and good lord did it hurt. She said she could feel where it's tight and spasming. So I booked a massage after my gym time tomorrow. I guess no deadlifts tomorrow. But we'll see.

Also need to pick up some taurine. I am getting some small bursts of back pumps. Don't last long and are very random. Not sure if it's related to the issue in my back now or something else. But I'm gonna go ahead and pick that up so I can start taking a little more. Already getting about 1.5grams a day. Not a lot but it is more than most.
 
5 grams of Taurine per day, up your potassium too.
I was gonna start supplementing the taurine. I've read between 5-10 grams. Gonna start at 5. Good thought on the potassium too. I know I'm not getting anywhere near enough of that.

I get lower back spasms. I would start with 10g and once it starts to feel better drop it to 5.
If you have any muscle relaxers laying around they help! and you can use the advil and Ice as well.
Make sure you heat it up with a heating pad before you stretch it.
 
Today I did some really light squats. Having some hip pain on my left side so I did three sets. Started doing some light weight deads. Things started feeling better. Did a few sets increasing weight and things felt good. Went and got my massage and now I'm in a lot of pain. Not sure if it's from the deads or the massage broke some stuff up. I can't wait to get home and get some ice.
 
So there will be no lifting this week. On vacation. I will try and post periodically what I'm gonna eat cause it's gonna be great. But I will probably AWOL for a while.
