Habajaba's journey from geek to giant

Sounds like trt is treating you good! That and B12 sounds like the fountain of youth

I've actually not "felt" much from the TRT so far. They told me to give it 12-14 weeks to work. It's 300mg every 2 weeks for the first 3 months, then 200mg for most people. I gather it's lower than most guys on here, and as such is probably reason for the longer time to take effect.

I think it's mostly the Epidrone kicking in full force + the B12. No joke the B12 was a real surprise the first workout after I got it for the first time. Didn't expect anything. So when I felt so good I was left asking what did I take that could have done that. And the B12 shot was it. It seems that other guys are injecting it along test, so I guess I'm not alone in seeing these effects...

But yeah, hard to complain after that session!

Phew. Haven't worked out for a whole week. Back started feeling better Sat, but I was traveling until yesterday. Back at it today!

Took it a little easier just to make sure I was under control and not putting my back in danger. Also, I'm pretty sure I was sweating pure peanut oil and pepperoni grease. This weekend's diet was just horrible. And it was a group trip with group food, so I had little option. Glad to be getting back to normal today!

Lifted for 59:30 today. Felt totally unmotivated beforehand, probably much to do with my diet the past 4 days. But I got in and got it done. Focused on quality movements rather than speed today.

Lastly, I had a little scare yesterday. We got home and shortly after, my wife pointed out my ankles. Or should I say cankles? I have never once had swelling in my feet. Freaky! Not sure if it was lowered water intake, excess salt and crap food intake, NSAID prescription, or test injections. All are known to cause this. I'm guessing it was a combination of them all. After chugging water last night, I woke up looking normal again.

I will admit that Sunday I skipped my afternoon and evening Epidrone and subbed them for 4 beers. Certainly could be a contributing factor as well. Although I will say those beers were well worth any side effects, as they helped me maintain my sanity. :)

Solid cardio today. Did my typical HIIT style workout which consists of P90 Saturday Special + 10min Trainer Cardio for a total time of 40 minutes today.

Feeling much better as the nasty food has finally made it out of my system. Looking forward to a really good lift tomorrow!

Nice. That one never gets old! I did 3 full rounds of P90X when I lost all my weight. Now I do P90 (plus some extra work) rather than P90X because I want to go easy on my back and knees. I also like 45-60 minute workouts vs 1:15-1:45 in X. One of these days I may very well go back to X. They really do a good job making safe and effective workouts and educating people on good form and nutrition as well.

Yes and brutal workouts

Another solid lift in the books! I felt tired and not mentally prepared when I went into the dungeon. But I forced myself to get started and push to my limits. During warm-up, I started to get a little winded and that stuck with me throughout. Tough one, but I hit all my numbers and got it all done in 54:15. I call that a win. Only a minute and a half off record pace even when I didn't feel 100%.

I'm due for my EOW test and B12 shots tomorrow. Numbers have to be lower and I'm guessing that's a factor on why I'm not feeling it today.

Friday cardio was pretty typical.

Saturday lift was tough. All I can think is that test and B12 take more than 24 hours to really have an effect. Or it was just one of those days... I just felt weak and winded throughout. That said, I clocked in at 53:45. So I still pushed and hit my numbers in a very respectable time.

Today's lift was nice! First move is punch push-ups and it felt effortless to lift up each rep! Killed it with good form and pace. 53:15 today.

All that said, I'm up 10# in 6 weeks of TRT. Musles look bigger but everything looks slightly softer as well. I also had that cankles scare last week. Clearly TRT has me holding a ton of water. Tempted to call the doc and see if he'd prescribe an AI just to see. But afraid to for fear he'll reduce my dose or skip an injection just as I begin feeling some of the benefits. Upping my water intake to crazy levels for now to see if that helps.

Keep it rollin man

I take it you're enjoying the TRT? My Dr's not a fan, so the only way I could get on would be to go elsewhere and pay my way. And I wish I could do some real cardio. Achilles tendon issues are a real PITA

So my last injection I started feeling a libido boost and also was in a better mood. I am definitely gaining muscle too. Guess I know why I've been a "hard gainer" now. The libido and mood wore off about a week in. Nurse says some people fall off a couple days before injection and did mention I could come as frequently as every 10 days instead of 14. Regardless, I'm ASSUMING the good feels means we're progressing in the right direction and continuation will keep moving me closer to that feeling all the time. Still no sleep or inflammation difference, hoping to see those soon, as they were big reasons I chose this. My back isn't as whiny, so maybe inflammation is mildly better. But I'm hoping to eventually drop anti inflammatory and spasm meds if the test does its job.

That sucks on the Achilles. I can relate a bit as the back went wonky a couple weeks ago and I had to take a whole week off. Sucks gettin old.

Starting to feel in a better mood again today. They tell me it takes time, sometimes 3 months to fully kick in. We'll see.

As for docs. I do not have a primary physician. So I went directly to a TRT clinic. Where are your T numbers? The clinics do seem a little more liberal than primary's from what I've read. Mine told me about a guy popping a 1600 on his test and wanting to go on TRT and he had to refuse the guy. The clinic clearly makes money off the injections at $65 2x/mo but I liked the idea of them monitoring and doing the injections. At least for now. Once I get stabilized, I'll see what I want to do. Could certainly get a script online way cheaper and gain a little flexibility in dosage and frequency. But for now, I'm leaving the decisions to the professionals.

Nice work on your training! I should get tested so I can tell the wife I have low test. That would make shyt A LOT easier! haha

Thank you sir!

Ha! If you have low libido, irritability, inflammation, hard to lose belly fat, and are tired all the time, then it might be time. I had/have all those. The only thing missing was stiffy failure. Thankfully I am not afflicted with that symptom. :)

Glad I stumbled on to this one. Nice story. Nice work! You have to be proud of yourself! I know I am.

Thank you sir! Just plugging away at things and making myself a little better each day. Nothing like the rest of you animals on here. :)

Very solid cardio day today. Sometimes I get a tad sloppy the further I am in the workout. Today was tight and I was able to push for more. I still hate cardio, but all the magic potions (B12, test, Cordygen, RPG, Epidrone) sure are making it easier and more fun than ever before!

Ew. Busy day. Lift day turned into lift night. I hate working out at night.

Got in there and really killed it for a night workout! 54:00 and didn't feel absolutely dead like I normally do during night workouts. I'll take it!

Had some trouble sleeping on my right side last week. Shoulder wasn't happy. It went away. But noticing sometimes it barks at me ever so slightly. And sometimes a little pop during certain moves. Wonder if I did something to aggravate my rotator cuff. Never had shoulder issues before. Any suggestions?

Which moves specifically cause the aggravation?

Or it could just be because you're old!

Things like pikes, 1 arm standing row twist, straight arm press backs make it pop. Also I feel the shoulder get kinda tight after push-ups or anything with my hand above my head for an extended period (sweeping crescent lunge, warrior 3 lunge) and I gotta shake it out a bunch before moving on.

Definitely possible that I'm just a broken old man. Still in my 30s, but this body's been through a lot. :)

Cardio today was friggen ninja warrior level amazeballs today! Heart rate was in check, no gasping at all. Pushed hard, kept it real tight, and even shortened the 1:30 break between videos to 30. Killin it!

Might be flirting with an impingement. I would try to stay away from anything that doesn't feel right. make sure you keep the shoulder and chest exercises in favor of the shoulder socket.

Thanks. It's definitely getting worse. Today was cardio, tomorrow off. Hoping the rest, heat and ice along with no lifts for 2 days will do some good. Only 3 more lift days til vacation and then the shoulder gets a whole week off.

Quick performance update from Fri/Sat.

Friday was my fastest ever lift day. 51 flat. I felt strong and recovered ultra fast. Minimal breaks if any between moves and just not overly winded at all. I'm pretty sure I missed a move for that time. But went back over and remember doing them all. We'll see what next week holds...

Saturday cardio was rediculous as well. Breezed through, pushing harder and keeping everything tighter.

I dunno what is the most to thank for this, but I also don't care. I clearly know what stack works. Over time, I'll pull one out and see what happens. But for now, I'm just enjoying the ride!

On a sucky note, shoulder continues to complain. Gonna do what I can not to aggravate it this week in my final 3 lifts of this cycle. Hopefully I can get it back to 100% during my week off. Guys with rotator cuff issues... What's the most effective therapy for you?

Good stuff bro as for therapy I like chiropractor and acupuncture maybe look into an electronic 10's unit for at home recovery and stimulation I bother with lower back pain I have 20% of my l5 left so I'm familiar with different therapy options don't think the chiro can do much for your shoulder but acupuncture works well

Ah yes! I too have back issues, but strength training has really helped control that lately. But I do have a tens unit from that. Didn't think of using it on the shoulder. Thanks for the suggestion!

Not sure there is acupuncture around here. Will have to look around. Had a friend who swore by it years ago.

Glad I can help brotha

Guys. I'm nearly speechless. Mondays generally suck after my day off. Motivation is generally at a low for the week. Today, mentally, I'm in Monday mode. But holy crap, my body was ready!

Barely anything got me winded today. Breaks were minimal or even non-existent! Tried keeping my shoulder in check but other than that, I blazed through in 49:30. Never been in the 40's. EVER!

And I feel like I still had some in the tank. Just don't want to push my shoulder over the edge this final week!

I seem to remember Epidrone really kicking in for me last time in weeks 6-8. So we're right on track. This round the dosage is higher and it's combined with TRT, B12, Cordygen-NanO2, and RPG for the ultimate stack. Man I could not be enjoying this any more!

Epidrone not kicking in till weeks 6-8? That's pretty late.

Sounds like an excellent monday! hopefully you can send some of the mojo my way! except the gym is always packed on monday with the people that are going to stick with it this time! lol

I put my tens unit on my shoulder. It works OK. sure jumps around good!

How's the shoulder habajaba? Try doing external and internal rotator exercises with a band; ice; ibuprofen

Great advice.
my life for the last year! lol
This has worked the best for me. I do them at the end of my workout when I'm nice and warmed up. If I did them pre-workout my shoulder hurt too much.

I need to start doing them lol!!! I just changed my routine up and think I'm gonna start doing 2 a days... get my major lifts in the morning then go back in the afternoon to hit abs, calves, forearms and rotators... all of which have been neglected

After a supraspinatus tear I got from not being able to lift a mug of coffee -to full ROM and almost all exercises in about 4 month time.
Nowadays I do shoulder rehab on cables, after the workout and twice a week. With DB's I do Cuban rotations. No icing for me (my personal belief is that icing brings down inflammation but hinders blood flow -you need the flow to heal) -BPC-157 shots eod. helped tremendously, I found lately so does IGF1 and MGF too. Hope that helps.

I'd also cut out exercises like bench dips, overhead presses, maybe even flies for a while...

Yep, no pressing or rises.
After awhile try push ups hands against a wall, slowly working your way down eod (next: hands on bench). That's what I did.

ya! after a week of when I first injured it I never iced it again. of course mine is a torn labrum and it is impinged. I'm not taking 6-8 weeks off to let it heal and 4-6 weeks of rehab only. I have to lift or I'm a basket case! I just do lifts that don't irritate it too much. it is slowly getting better until I get carried away. I'm mainly dealing with the impingement now. (need to get back to taking my anti inflammatories regularly again but they start to screw with my ulcer after a few weeks). I have a new pain that pops up when I move it the wrong way. (almost a sharp nerve pain) not going back to the DR. cant afford it. Already cost me enough.

Studhorse you should try Kratom bro... especially since you've got ulcers

I have had my eye on it. I'm kind of scared of it. I was hooked on coke for about 2 years. that was back when i was 24 but still. I really love stuff like this too much! hell when I get 30 lortabs for a kidney stone that I pass 2 hrs later I take them until they are gone. lol

Convince me Kratom brothers!
