2016 NFL Thread

Some of the drops were also on bad throws. The last OBJ drop was wild throw by Eli.

Just a game riddled with woulda coulda shouldas. I think we knew going in Giants essentially have to play perfect football to win games as currently constructed.

Excited for next year. I want a punishing running back, anther O-lineman, and tightend and I feel we will be much better. Maybe even bring back the full back position.

We will also need a DT and DE along with a MLB and WLB. OO and Brinkley haven't shown much. Would love Carlos Watkins.

But you forgot the most important part. Flowers has to go lol. He's a hyooooge liability at LT.

I am still hoping that they can find use for him. Maybe put him at his natural position...maybe he learns you have to make contact with the D-lineman on passing downs lol

Dallas' D is weak.

I cant wait for Aaron, Jordy, Cobb, Adams, and Cook to put on an offensive showcase on the boys and put those two rookies in their places. Clay Matthews and Peppers are gonna be all over Dak early and often.

Is Nelson going to play?

2 fractured ribs apparently, McCarthy said he wont attempt to practice until Saturday and if he doesnt play Saturday then he wont play. Comes down to a pain tolerance issue with rib fractures...and I guess you're playing with the possibility of those ribs puncturing your lung.

Mathews is overrated and peppers is old. Speed kills Big D is going back to the top. How Bout Dem Cowboyz !!

Mathews is overrated...okayyyy. Im done talking to you til GB shuts you up haha.

Aaron Rodgers last 8 games: 22 TD, 0 INT, 120.7 QBR

^^^^ Bingo
Look at Matt Ryan's Stats too the last 5-6 games. Atlanta is putting up numbers and their offense is rolling.
Both of these teams are rolling right now, Real hot on offense and will put up some #'s.

Lets also factor that GB lost Jordy and their running back, if neither of them play thats a HUGE blow.

Honestly all these matchup's this weekend will be great besides the New England vs Houston Game... I just don't see Houston being able to keep up on either side of the ball. A well rested NE Team playing in NE is going to = lights out for the Texans.

News Around the league:

Jags bring back Tom Coughlin as VP, hire Doug Marrone as coach, extend GM Dave Caldwell

Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson spent Sunday night in the hospital with what a source characterized to ESPN's Adam Schefter as a significant rib injury suffered in Green Bay's wild-card win over the New York Giants.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Nelson was back at the team's facility Monday but won't try to practice until Saturday.

Steelers assistant Joey Porter placed on leave after arrest (we all saw this coming)

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in an email that he is out of the walking boot on his right foot after an MRI on Monday showed "nothing severe."
Roethlisberger told the Post-Gazette's Ron Cook -- co-host of the Ben Roethlisberger Show on 93.7 The Fan -- that he aggravated an old foot fracture but "should be good to go" against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Also Criminology study links NFL players' misbehavior on, off field. Researchers found players who drew most penalties also had more criminal arrests

I think anyone from the NFC can make it, but I would definitely worry about a rookie going up against The Evil Empire Patriots. I dislike them, but boy can they game plan(even post cheating lol).

I think AFC will win this year. Pats/Steelers are insane. Pats are a more complete team, though. GB and Steeler rematch would be cool

Side note. Looked up tickets since it's in my city. LOL

I expected idk maybe $500-$800 for nosebleed **** seats. Nah. $3500+

No thanks. I'll listen to ****ty announcers

As much as Ben says he is fine... One small hit and that injury could put him on the sidelines.
If Jones comes in the Steelers are doomed.

if the steelers are smart they draft Watson, or Kizer this year in the draft and develop behind Ben before he takes enough hits it causes him to retire. That guy has been beaten like a board for a decade while in the NFL. Amazed he still walks sometimes.

The Bills ended their latest head-coaching search Wednesday, agreeing to hire Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott to succeed the fired Rex Ryan.

Tre Mason, the Rams running back who never reported to the team this past season, was arrested Tuesday morning in Florida for a fleeing incident dating back to July, according to records obtained from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott tweeted "I'm good" after he was involved in a minor car accident near the team's facility on Wednesday.

Seahawks FB Marcel Reece (bruised foot) practiced Wednesday and will play.
Falcons rookie TE Austin Hooper (MCL sprain) practiced Wednesday and is on target to play Saturday
Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (shoulder) was a limited practice participant on Wednesday.

Packers Injury Report (Ouch)

Injury report actually looks decent imo. We knew Nelson wasn't practicing so only surprise is Peppers but sounds personal and not injury so should be good.

Id tend to agree with this. All the key people on the injury report aside from peppers and nelson were full participants.

The Los Angeles Rams have decided on their new head coach, hiring 30-year-old Redskins offensive coordinator Sean McVay on Thursday.
Dolphins LB coach Matt Burke named new defensive coordinator

Why does LA get two teams now? Is Oakland going back too? Same stadium?
I think Oakland is going to Las Vegas.

Chargers move had to do with their old stadium. I guess they wanted a new one, but the people of San Diego county voted to not fund it so the owner decided to move to LA.

Chargers change logo for 3rd time in 2 days following media backlash; claim old logos were only for marketing purposes.

That one is lame. I personally liked the last one posted.

This was the original.

Just a ripoff of the Dodgers logo. The internet trolled the hell out of them. Even other sports teams started trolling them with their own "new" logos by ripping off other teams.
