2016 NFL Thread

Honestly I don't see Lamar or watson panning out in the nfl, if one does it will be Lamar. Could be wrong I just feel they are not very smart and in the nfl as a QB you need to be smart.

Nobody saw Dak Prescott panning out in the NFL as a 4th round pick.
Lets take a look at the NFL Picks this year..

Goff went #1.. and what has he done for the rams? Not too much.
Wentz looks ok, and he went soon after.

Sure they are rookies, but Dak is lighting it up and is a 4th round pick.

Tom Brady, he went damn near the end of the draft when he was picked and he is going to be a HOF QB.

Don't judge a book by its cover. These guys can play. Jackson put up 50+ TD's, and will win the heisman tonight. NOW don't get me wrong, some heisman QB's are 100% busts.. Tebow. Manziel. etc... but we have to give them a chance before we can write them off. Jackson doesnt have the size Watson does who may hold up as a better QB in the NFL like Winston who is still evolving IMO.

Ya it's usually the guys like dak that most didn't even notice who become the greats with obvious exception

I kinda like baker. Not sure how he'll translate but he's been damn good

Buffalo will get smoked by ab this week book it. Neither of our corners can cover him. Ben does struggle on road but we r brutal on d this year. Rex will take a moral victory by shutting bell down, which means he'll only get 110 ap yards. Hopefully tyrod can hit Sammy deep a few times otherwise this one will b over at half time
My fantasy team thanks you for not shutting Bell down.

Bell... Keep on ringing it.....
Hope the Steelers keep playing like this all the way up to the playoffs.
Just another win closer to trying to win the AFC North or getting that wild card!

Happy about The Burgh today!

What a week in the NFL!!!

Seattle vs Green Bay
Wilson throwing 4 picks? Looks like the streak of not winning @ GB since 1999 is going to hold strong.

Atlana vs LA:
Falcons offense is no joke. i would not want to be playing these guys come the playoffs. They spread you out and throw it all over the field. Goff with 2 picks did not help

Pitt vs Buffalo:
Bell runs, runs, and runs all over the Bills. A close game but Pittsburgh does what they do best control the line of scrimmage and get a W.

Tenn vs Denver:
Denver put up a ton of yards through the air on offense but could not convert and get points. They only ran the ball 9 times all game! 9 Times!!!!
Tenn escapes in a close game here 13-10

Washington vs Philly
Philly continues to struggle and Washington gets a 27-22 Win. Washington looked good on offense on all fronts. Ran for 2 TD's and threw for 2 TD's. Eagles look like a work in progress after starting the season strong.

Carolina vs SD:
Carolina came out firing, and then SD tried to play catchup later. Was not enough to win on the road as Cam gets a W 28-16.

Bengals vs Cleveland
Well its The browns.. Another loss, another week. We shall see if they actually get a win this year.

Detroit vs Chicago
Even with Detroit having a few turnovers they still end up winning this game. It was close in the end even with Stafford throwing a 2 picks and getting sacked 3 times.

Indy and Houston:
Luck throws 2 picks, Houston does not look sharp through the air but managed to pull through a very close game.
Houston destroyed the line of scrimmage and ended up running for 40+ Times throughout the game. Ball control!

Minnesota vs Jacksonville:
Minn got a lot of FG's, but not a very productive offensive game on either side. Both QB's put up around 200 yards, but nothing to ride home about. Minn gets another to improve to 7-6

San Fran vs NYJ:
San Fran got up early and the jets made a staggering comeback to tie it up 17 - 17. Hyde ran like crazy and put up 150+ yards for the SF team. They needed to see some momentum becuase this team has been hurting with only 1 win all year. Jets make a great comeback, get a nice 20 yard run to polish off a W in overtime!

New Orleans vs Tampa Bay:
Tampa Bay continues to impress this season. Brees 3 interceptions really costed the saints this game as New Orleans kept the TB offense at ease most of the game. Winston only put up under 200 yards and held the bucs to under 100 yards rushing all game. Good W for Tampa Bay

Miami vs Arizona:
Miami loses their QB but still escape with the Win. He went down with an ACL injury, but we do not know how severe it is.
Palmers 2 picks were costly as Miami escapes at home!

5 picks for Wilson! Crazy!

A little more nervous about seeing Rodgers limp off the field if you are a GB Fan. They will need him to have any shot in the playoffs.

Absolutely, he looked roughed up pretty bad. They dont stand a chance without Rodgers. Not a GB fan though, currently cheering for the Lions out of the NFC North. I like Jim Caldwell from his time with the Colts. Plus...Jim Bob Cooter (Lions' OC) is just a great name so that gives the lions bonus points in my book.

Giants continue to stun the cowboys.
Lets see how they respond, and if Dak continues to stay the starter after this game, or they decide to let ROMO test the waters these last few games.

What about your eagles? FYI..We are in one of the two best divisions in football. NFC east and AFc west. We just happen to be the best in the NFL.

You're awful quiet. Nothing to say after Dak getting shut the **** down and your OL getting dominated by New York?

He's too busy knocking it down for a Fortune 500 company.

That mail ain't gonna sort itself!

-Bengals say WR AJ Green will begin to practice.
-Fins QB Tannehill has ACL/MCL sprain...no tear. Still will miss time.
-Panthers not ready to shut down LB Luke Kuechly yet....i guess theyre still 'in the playoff hunt'
-Cards put Deion Branch to IR and possibly Bucannon and Ulrik; A WR was arrested for DUI....but I cant remember who it was.
-Chargers DE Joey Bosa has a neck strain...not a concussion; also diagnosed RB Melvin Gordon with a hip strain....day to day
-Buccs cut Safety Major Wright
-Colts put S Clayton Geathers, LB Curt Maggitt and G Jack Mewhort on IR....yikes
-Vikings put DT Sharif Floyd on IR, promote PSer Toby Johnson
-Bears WR Alshon Jeffery is off of suspension
-Eagles long snapper Jon Dorenbos had surgery for a broken wrist....done for the yr. The Eagles were literally having LS tryouts on the sidelines vs the Skins Sunday; RB Darren Sproles also in the protocol after the hit from Deshazor Everett...which is being reviewed by the league.

I couldn't sleep for like 2 hours after it ended that defense had me so fired up!

Offense still is bad though, but defense is championship level IMO

Lol offense is god awful. Glad to see Perkins get the ball more - I actually like him more than Jennings. Flowers has to go, IMO. Not to RT, not to G. He needs to be cut. Great run blocker but the worst pass blocker ever.

Lol. Nice win Woody. I won't apologize for being successful in life.
Good you don't need to. However, you do need to not be such a douche about the cowboys. We get it you love them. I can respect that, even if I hate Dallas, it doesn't mean I'll hate you. However, the way you are acting about them does make me hate you. Tame it down a bit and everything will be good

-Cards cut WR Michael Floyd...who is the player I discussed being arrested for DUI.
-Devin Hester, K Mike Nugent and S Major Wright all cleared waivers. FAs.
-Egghead Roger Goodell met with Aldon Smith regarding reinstatement. Says 'it was beneficial'. No timetable on a decision, which continues to remain a problem.
-Egghead Goodell also said that the extensive investigation into the Ezekiel Elliot case is 'to make sure it's fair'....unlike how he handled the Giants K John Brown situation. 'No timetable' here either. God I hate him so much. Also no word on Randy Gregory...who can begin practicing Monday, barring any further suspension.
-Chargers RB Melvin Gordon is not expected to play Sunday but still a chance he returns this yr. Chargers have been hit badly by injury
-Viks Adrian Peterson practiced yesterday.
-Bengals claimed K Randy Bullock
-Dolphins sign QB TJ Yates
-Cards sign Scooby Wright to the roster.
-London games for 2017: Bal/JAx; Cle/Minn; LA/Ari; NO/Mia

Floyd was found passed out unconscious sitting at a stop light when they got him for DUI. What an idiot.

RT don't hate the player hate the game

Seahawks new jersies tonight = Sick

Mock Draft has Allen going #1 to the browns. Easily the best defensive pick in the draft. Do they do that or go for a QB in Bridgewater or Watson?

I don't really know the players coming out, but I don't see the Browns taking a quarterback unless there is one coming out with high praise and great upside. They just can't really afford to make a big mistake here.

High praise? You mean 3 QB's were finalist for the heisman.
Do you even watch college football? If you don't and don't have a clue who is coming out, then you have no idea what you are talking about....
Jackson had over 50+ TD's accounted for and broke almost every single Louisville Record they held.
Watson took his team to the Championship last year, and they are in the running with the big 4 again this year.. the guy has TONS of potential.

If you think the browns are going to win with RGIII who is hurt every year or mccown you are fooling yourself.

Miles Garrett > Allen. By faaaar. Vikings won't trade Bridgey and none of the QBs are worth a high pick. Plus IIRC they have two first rounders (one from philly).

I guess you didn't really get my first sentence where I admitted I don't really know who is coming out. With you saying that they are projected to take a defensive player I assumed the only logical reason that would happen is there isn't promising QB.

-Pats claim WR Michael Floyd....and I want to say this: If the Cowboys had claimed him, it would be 'bunch of convicts'....but since its Ol Bill, its 'genius'. Smh.
-Seahawks win NFCW with the win over LA last night. Cards are now eliminated.
-Sherman called out Pete Carroll for AGAIN passing the ball at the 1yd line. Keep it up, Pete....just cost you a superbowl...smh.
-The league is still investigating the giants for their illegal use of walkie-talkies vs the Cowboys. McAdoo was seen on them several times. (Does he remind yall of a character that should be on Boogie Nights? He does me.)
-Rams place RB Benny Cunningham and DE Robert Quinn on IR
Cowboys Fans:
-Seems Dez was limited in practice yesterday with a 'back injury'. Hes had this in the past. Doesnt seem to be alarming.
-Leary, Jack Crawford, Lee Smith and Wilcox were limited. Wilcox back for the first time in 3wks. Thornton, Green, Lawrence DNP. Scandrick was also absent, but it seems it was for 'personal reasons'.
-Mo Claiborne had an MRI and said that he got 'good news'. He said on IG he should be ready for the playoffs, 'if not before then'.

Then get up to par on some College Football, so you know who the teams should invest in! :)

Meh. Winning the Heisman is irrelevant for NFL. Jackson can't declare yet and he is a project for NFL. Undeniable talent though.

Watson and Mitch are only first round QB but I still don't think they are top 10 prospects. Seems to be the consensus from execs and draft gurus, too. Doesn't mean a team won't reach, though.

However - if you think drafting a good QB will solve the Browns problems you are fooling yourself. It would solve the Jags problems but not the Browns.

Nothing solves the browns problems
They are THE BROWNS

I think they will probably go allen. he is hands down the best player coming out of the ncaa

Spoken like a true Steelers fan

I agree they'll go D at 1 and MAYBE QB with their second 1st. But I think Garrett is better than Allen.

Either pick they can't go wrong. It will only help them long term and building that franchise.
Then again they have had so many 1st round picks you would think they could win a game :)

Do you guys honestly think the browns will do what's best for themselves? I don't they will do something stupid like trade 3 draft picks for Bridgewater or something

They need safety help, too. If they don't go Garrett I could see Jabrill Peppers. Dude is a stud

Bridgewater may never play again. Better make it five draft picks

He will be better then manziel. Thats the truth...

But honestly with the #1 Pick and the #10 or so pick they can easily get Bridgewater for their 2nd pick or Watson. I doubt either will go off the board before then. The draft is so defensive heavy there are a lot of DL/OL that will go off the board early and a few RB's/WR's that are studs...

They could grab Allen from Alabama, and then still settle with a good offensive option. With so many gaps in that damn team it really don't matter what they pick, they will be rebuilding for years.

Browns will prob beat buffalo on Sunday. Just wait and see. It's either going to be taylors statement game that'll fool Whaley into picking up next year with him or bills will give browns only win of year

As long as the steelers beat Cincy and take a good stronghold on the AFC north ill be happy :)
But really. I love this time of the year
Nearly a bowl game on every single day now, Football on weekends for the NFL.. I love coming home and being able to watch football every single damn day!

-It appears that Viks RB Adrain Peterson announced he 'will play' sunday vs the Colts. Apparently, management isnt too happy. Theyre either forced to piss off Peterson or make a rushed roster move to add him to the 53.

-Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence ruled out for Sun night. Swing tackle Chaz Green will have back surgery for a herniated disc.....as a result, Boys will call up DE Zach Moore to fill the void and help in DLaws absence.

-Also out are Falcons WR Julio Jones and Eagles RB Darren Sproles. Doubtful are Cincy WR AJ Green and Pats LB Brandon Marshall

-the NFL is bringing back the vet combine in March. However, itll be for players who signed their first deal from 2014-2016. Not necessarily for the aged vets as it was the first go around.

-theyre off from the thurs game....but Rams QB Jared Goff is in the concussion protocol and seahawks punter Jon Ryan was take to the hosptial for his concussion. Hope hes ok.

AP is such a beast man. I mean I don't know how you don't add him to the roster even if he doesn't play a ton just to try to spark the offensive side of the ball.

UPDATE:

Bills preparing to move on from Rex Ryan as head coach
While Buffalo is preparing to move on from Ryan, the organization is expected to retain its general manager Doug Whaley, who is expected to be given a chance to hire his third different head coach, after having a hand in the hirings of Ryan and former Bills head coach Doug Marrone. But the cycle of change in Buffalo is expected to continue.

From Mia vs NJ
- Matt Moore looked in control from snap #1... Dolphins blew up the Jets through the air and dominated the game. Up to halftime it was close. 2nd half it was all Dolphins.
