Seriously, I don't have very many friends, because most of them don't understand what I'm trying to do health-wise. You guys get me. We understand each other, and even though we're all at different levels, we're the same. So even though we've never met (and probably never will), I consider you all friends. Love you guys (even Brandinooooo, who's banging 2 fat strippers right now) and would do whatever I could to help you.

How often do you take days off, or weeks off? Honestly, recovery can play a huge role in this and we all like to work hard and see results, which means we often short ourselves on recovery time. Often, as we get in better shape, we need more recovery between workouts too - your body will recover from squatting 150 pounds in less time then it will take to recover from 400 pound squats....just a thought.

Same here. Most of the 50 somethings I know keep asking me why I lift - "you might hurt yourself"! Freaking couch loving donut eaters!

SFreed, I couldnt agree more. Ive always said the fire department is the biggest family there is, because I can walk into in station and tell them Im a firefighter and be treated like theyve known me for years. But you guys, as well as just about every AM member Ive had dealings with has been amazing. I can make jokes and pick on things with no real criticism, tell you things about myself and expect nothing but love back. Ive grown to appreciate every one of you guys, and have respect for all you for various reasons. My new medicine is being on here and "talking" with you guys. You guys are amazeballz and I just gotta have you all.

I'm surprised by how many guys on here have stopped to help me out... I mean, really took some effort... smith_69 for example, just PMd me last night and got my email cause he's gonna write me up a routine to help me build my traps, which are lagging... (The guy did this on vacation in Aruba!!) YoungBodyBuil was sending me daily text messages on my first cycle to get updates and make sure I wasn't having problems with sides... then he sent me a bunch of free sh1t.. Honestly the list goes on!!!

AM is a beautiful community with a bunch of good people who share the same set of goals and the same fcked up sense of humor for the most part. It is funny how familiar you start getting with people on this forum... like SFreed was saying, you become friends with people you'll prob never meet. I'm definitely glad to be a part of it!!! Love you crazy fckers

You remind me of one of the things I realized in during my journey to weight loss - We have these sayings, beliefs, etc. which provide comfort for our habits and allow us to continue doing things that we know we shouldn't, but our beliefs justify our actions. One such item for me is, "I would rather die early and enjoy life than to live long and suffer."

I see this used as a rationalization to eat bad foods on a regular basis. But then I started thinking about it - being fat doesn't really kill you. You can live a long time and eat anything you want. But being fat does make you "suffer". It increases your chance of disease, injury, etc. - makes you feel like crap, makes it hard to move, makes it hard for you to do anything you want to do. So, if you really would prefer not to suffer, wouldn't it make more sense NOT to eat that piece of cake? The small enjoyment you get from the cake can rob you of your body, of your movement, of your life. Movement IS life. If you can't move, the quality of your life becomes non-existent. I mean, not many people in the world would take me up on an offer to become quadriplegic in return for eating anything they like, but that IS the trade off, over time, that I was making.

But, I wouldn't say any of us are "good" for each other. Bad influences maybe, but "good" is kind of.....

Last gym day before vacations

Today I felt weak so I decided doing lots of volume with moderate weights.
-sh1tload of chin ups, pull ups with BW
-sh1tload of triceps exercises
-lots of cable chest exercises
-lots of curling
-lots of shoulder presses
-some abs exercises
-some leg exercises

Waiting for my taxi cab to take me to the airport. Will arrive on election day in Florida, damn.
Now that I'm leaner I can dodge bullets easier when it gets weird.
Hopefully my new tan isn't too dark as the police are more trigger happy towards darker people...
