6 Week Fat Loss Challenge

I am just sitting here...watching all this hard work...thinking....WTF? What the H3LL am I doing with my life? Look at all that weight that needs moving. Look at what you guys can do? Look at the fire that burns while I am just smoking out at this point! I am ready.

So, tomorrow will be my official start. I've been at 173.x for the past 2 days. After I came off completely for a week and went off the reservation, I was 184.8 I think at my peak. Some pretty simple just keeping my diet in check and kind of test driving my calorie cycling approach over the past week has me back down to 173.x and I had a high-calorie (2,500 calories) day yesterday where I ate chili and probably still had a lot of weight from that when I weighed this morning.

Tomorrow will be a low calorie cycle (800 calories). I'm thinking I can lose 18 and go to 155 pounds? We will see. Maybe with this calorie cycling, I'll actually gain a little lean tissue.
MrKleen73 - I saw your comment above and thank you! Yes, I have to remember that on any deficit, gaining strength is tough. I did 1 cycle of HST and felt it went pretty well - even with the extreme deficit and cardio. I took the 10 day break and just finished the first 2 weeks of the 15 rep range. I will be going to the 10 rep range. In my first cycle, I felt the 15 rep range created a lot of growth for me. I saw constant improvement. In this cycle, the 15 rep range didn't show much improvement at all, but hopefully the 10 rep range will change that! And again, I realize you are right and just maintaining strength is all I can really hope for...as long as I'm not losing I'm good.

Who else is gonna pick up that weight and set it back down? YOU my friend.

I feel like working tonight. Tomorrow is low cal day and a weight session. The weight is coming off so I want to keep the cardio down, but don't want to stop altogether and then not be able to do it when I have to. Going to hit the treadmill for 45 minutes right now. Supernova has been applied.

Yeeesssss!!!!

45 minutes. 4.05 miles. 550 calories burned (according to fitbit). Sweating. Feeling good!

Diamonds have been stuck with me since Bootcamp. Used to have to do"basketball" push-ups. Do a diamond push-up, but when you went down your dogtags had to go inside the diamond or the rep didnt count.
Good stuff. I hate them, but love them. My finisher bonus round consists diamonds and then drop set curls to fail.

You fellas need a workout tune?

Flocking awesome.

Yeah, that song is great. Makes me want to destroy stuff. Wish I had a bunch of similar songs I liked.

Proud of you homie!! I knew your hunger for success would get you back in here.

I learned it from you guys brother! You held down the fort ...you motivated me. So many guys in here just laying it down I can't even call everyone out. But I am proud of everyone who has jumped in and put in the effort. And the support from people who didn't even need to come into this thread because they didn't need to lose fat. But they came in and showed support. I wish real life was like this board. People would accomplish so much more and believe in so much more.

Amen to That brother!

Today was a venture into a new truncated routine and as such presented a few unknowns, so I decided in the best interest of science to treat it as a circuit, and utilize it’s inherent rest / pause (in certain areas) as an enabler for more weight, yet maintain a fairly accelerated pace.

I think it was successful, and will be working on expanding this routine incorporating more exercises while increasing time allotted.

Finish last of PWO
- Finish Line

Post Workout
- Whey Protein Hydro Isolate
- 1 Banana
- Invictus .5 ml

Ha! Nice, but unfortunately I MUST KEEP PUSHING THE GROUND DOWN

Like Chuck Norris?

Putting in the work man. You can work hard or long, but you can't do both. Truncated routines can be very effective.

For myself....drum roll....:

Today's Weigh in:

Bodyweight: 171
Aria Bodyfat %: 19.2%
Waist: 37"

This will be the official start of my 6 week challenge episode #2.

Strength is starting to feel a little suspect, but I think it's mostly neural. Been on point with my diet and weight loss is still chugging away. Starting next Monday, I am going to test drive DMAA via Lipodrene Hardcore, upgrading from my 200mg Caffeine pre-workout.

As MrKleen73 pointed out for me too - if you have full glycogen stores and then go on a diet, the loss of glycogen will have a bigger impact on performance than you think. I say performance, because in my experience - different people respond to different training situations differently. For me, I usually maintain my top end strength fairly well, but the weight I can do for 8+ reps drops fast with each additional rep. And this is how I am normally anyway, but it gets much worse when glycogen falls. And you just feel weak. You probably aren't losing much strength, you just don't have the energy to use it.

Car troubles. Had to pack a backpack and walk to work. 3 miles.

I'm soaked. Good thing I packed a change of cloths.

Mmmmm. Cardio Diem.

I hate car troubles. There's a good period of my life up until recently where everybody in my family has older cars and it was constantly one problem after the next that I had to fix. I've got a 2004 Audi A6 with 350000 miles on it that's still running and still on the road. Luckily it's not my main car anymore.

Oh, I'm going to a rave later (starts ~9pm and will end at 4am or later). While I don't expect to really lose my gains or overeat or something, it's going to take years to recover from because of my calorie deficit. I'm already mentally prepped for the pain.

Eat a roll for me

MrKleen73 what constitutes as "TOO MUCH " fat in a daily diet? I have a reason for asking
When it makes you go above your planned calories. I know that sounds like a cop out answer. However to give an example. I am eating on overage 150g of fat a day. In my opinion varied and healthy fat sources are very important and having them high enough will keep a lot of bad things at bay. Remember how I said nutrient timing is a huge factor and can really change the amount of calories you can eat or take in without gaining fat. I normally start my day with about 50grams of fat in my breakfast. 5 eggs and 1-2 tablesppons of EVCO or Red Palm Oil, then 25-30 grams at each of the next 2-3 meals, keep fats minimal around training when carbs are extremely high then I get about 24-28grams of fat in my last meal. So I am basically getting rid of most of the insulin spikes in the day and when I am creating a massive insulin spike I keep the fats lower surrounding that period.

If you end up actually partaking in any seratonin depleting recreational activities, PLEASE go ahead and plan a massive carb refeed for the day after to start replenishing seratonin. Molly may seem like a fun chick to hang around with but she sure can be a real bitch to you for a while after hanging out with her. Carbs a key to that recovery process.

Thanks for the advice man. I've been in a 1000 cal deficit for a long time, so a refeed at maintenance will be dually useful the day after.
