Is a prolactin level of 15 ng/l too high? if so, what should it be?

Hi All,

Quick question, my sex drive and libido isn't great after an epi cycle I completed about 5 months ago. I completed full PCT with clomid, nolva etc and my sex drive was awesome soon as I finished PCT. Then after a month or so my libido just dropped massively. It hasn't improved much and at times I struggle to keep the old wood. Not only that, I am also not really getting morning wood anymore. I had bloods done, test, free test, thyroid, shbg, e2 etc and everything was great. My test was even at 31 which is very good for a 30 year old.

Anyway, I had my prolactin done last week as that was the only thing I forgot and it came back at 15 ng/l. The doc said it was normal, but just about. the ref range was (5-15).

Does anyone think this is what is causing my issues? Would you say this was high?

I asked this question on another forum and all I got was the usual such as do another PCT or its in your head etc, the usual crap. However, no PCT is needed as my other bloods are perfect and show a complete recover.

Your input would be valuable!

15 is within the normal range but when mine was 16 (and everything else normal) I felt similar to you. I would suggest some L-Dopa (a Mucuna Pruriens product like Blue Growth or Inhibit P) for 2 months or you could play with some Cabergoline (sparingly) if you can get your hands on some pharm grade.

Yeah funnily enough I started inhibit p last week but yet to feel any effects. How long was it before you started seeing results? Did you recover?

I've never used Inhibit P but people on this board seem to really like it. Blue Growth always helps my sleep and libido slightly while on it; I can especially notice when I stop taking it honestly so typically do 2 months on/1 off.

Caber will be very fast pronounced drops (like almost immediately and much stronger) but research chem caber is allegedly a higher risk compound for being fake. Getting some through a doctor or a pharm quality source would be ideal if you wanted to go with drugs over something herbal.

Cycling tongkat ali (long jack) can be a nice way to get some extra libido but that has nothing to do with your prolactin. There's a thread on AM currently with lots of anecdotes on people's dosing strategies and observed effects taking TA.

Thanks! So how did you bring your prolactin down? As blue growth doesn't do that as it's supposedly increases HGH, not reduce prolactin.

How long you reckon for inhibit p to work? I've been taking it 6 days now and no change :(

FWIW, Cy (cooper) had told me previously that in my particular case (I have a prolactinoma, so my situation is different than those of you who just have normal ranges looking to lower it) Inhibit-P wouldn't do much/anything for me. I had to use caber. But again, I have a prolactinoma and ended up with high OOR PRL levels from it.

How do you control that then?

My prolactin came back at 30 then second bloods came back at 17. Endo said it was fine but also have issues with wood off cycle.

Rx for caber from my doctor.

MRI didn't show it at a point of being operable or that the medicine should control things well enough.

So its basically medically controlled now? No radiography offered? Or is that just if its cancerous?

MY level was 330 - I am in UK. Not sure what measurements the NHS use, that was on the top number of the range and they thought it was fine.. was not happy with that though

Basically, I just ended up with high PRL on a blood test a few times and that led to me getting a dynamic brain MRI done (after basically begging for it; not because they were like "yeah, you should get this"). It was so small that they wouldn't "confirm" that it was a prolactinoma, but they didn't have any other explanation for it and there was a spot on the pituitary that was questionable, so that's almost certainly what it was.

Luckily, no other problems, so it's just been the caber.

I best keep an eye on mine then, how far out were you from the top end of scale?

I think my old labs may still be up on a thread somewhere here. I honestly can't remember.

It wasn't awful OOR, but definitely enough that I noticed it and had freakin gyno because of it.

Well I thinkI have a bit of gyno from it, I can squeeze tiny bit of fluid out every week pretty much

holy sh!t that makes me don't want to fuk with 19 nor anymore...... im at the end of trenavar cycle and libido and erections are done...
i pray i recover from this and probably will stick to regular ****

Why do you believe it won't lower prolactin just because the shiny claim on the bottle says it's for increasing HGH?? Lol that's just the marketing end of supplements - look up mucuna pruriens for reducing prolactin levels.

Notice it's also a primary ingredient in Inhibit P:

Be patient on the Inhibit P. If you don't feel better after a couple bottles it might be time to look for some Caber. But it will likely help some if something else isn't raising your prolactin, like Midwest Beast's pituitary situation for example.

Yeah maybe you're right, maybe I'm just being impatient. I guess it's unrealistic to expect to start feeling better after 6 days!
