What is the hypothetical benefit of doing those over regular pause squats?

Greg Nuckols says it'll instantly add 100lbs to your squat. It even says so in the title.

He said start trying them with warm ups but that's lame. Lift Free or Die

Reading through T-Nation feels like panning for gold...in the dark. There are some awesome nuggets in there every once in a while, but you gotta sift REALLY hard.

All just depends on who wrote the article. I think the same goes for BBcom

Gotcha. I think im gonna go ahead and let you be the test dummy on this one

Dunno if it'll have any more carry over than a pause squat, and I'm not sure what carryover a pause squat has either. But it was fun, so that's all that matters.

Dont think im hatin brotha! It is impressive as all hell, don't get me wrong. I just dont think I want to give it a go. But if you gain 100lbs, or even 60-70lbs, i'll gladly eat my words and try it out! I think I'd just rather it be you than me that tries it first.

Noooo, sorry if my response implied that I thought you were hatin. I honestly don't know what it'll do lol

His theory makes sense. He talks about it in his like 50 page how to squat thing on strengtheory too.

I'm gonna put this on you since I read the article, Sean. Nuckols hit 585 breathing paused and squatted 750. You know what you have to do. 590 and 755. Those things will make you, by default, smarter and better looking than Nuckols.

Think how good looking he'd be squatting 755 AND growing another porno stache.

Sean, no-shave November is right around the corner. 10-11 weeks and you're lifting records while dropping panties.

Since he's wrapless squatter, I'll go ahead and subtract 100lbs to account for me needing god damn wraps to meet his numbers..soooo 490!

Pshhhhh it's been no-shave-year for me :D

I do miss having that disgusting porno stache, though. Maybe it needs to happen again.

****kkkkkkkkk. Volume PR. Think that was my first 20k lb volume day. I've usually finished these blocks shy of 20k on the main squat day.

My occlusion sets can go **** themselves. I'm done.

Occlusion training isn't even proven for hypertrophy, and it is potentially damaging even depending on who you listen to. You did the real work, and a crap ton of it.

Also what's on the top of your shins?

Thanks, buddy. I was just going to do it these 3 weeks and that's it, just to see.

Just some slingshot multi-purpose wraps. I forgot my sleeves today but if I tie those off just under the patella, it gives me some comfort.

I'm surprised you even saw them...

Damaging, why?

You can get too big for your own good.

I'm interested in knowing why as well actually. I just assumed it was all good benefits. Science us, Hyde.

I guess if it's too tight, sure.

I guess if it's too tight, sure.

I can't recall the reason, but I believe you're on point here. I think it's definitely in line with "Stupid people do stupid things and ruin it for everyone" more than inherent danger but nevertheless there is some risk.

If it's fun for you, go for it. Otherwise, I see no reason to reinvent the wheel. I feel that way about most machines, for that matter.

Crap day. I don't think my body recovered fast enough from the squats yesterday. Bar felt heavy.

That's okay, your squats were crazy the other day. You're building a base and that's damn hard. No point in building more base if you already have all the base you want.

I'm think I met my MRV?

I dunno, Megan Trainor. The circumstances change week to week. You might still be getting used to It. You might have met it. Give it a week and see.

How long did that 3 sec hold shrug drop set take? My calculations indicate at least 2 min 15 sec of total tension, without rests

Well, I thought about just increasing this day 30lbs over last week's 355 and do more sets of 6 but then I changed my mind. I thought it might be fun to work up to a 6RM on my high bar squat, so I did. Then I did it for 4 sets. I feel like I'm underestimating my squat, at least on my secondary squat day. Or maybe I'm stronger. I dunno.

Honestly for a guy who squat over 7 in wraps I'm always surprised how low your training weights are typically (low being relative to % of comp 1RM of course). I'm always like how the F can he handle all this volume at X weight, but then I remember your limit strength and then it makes more sense.

So I'm not calling you weak; I'm agreeing that you likely are actually stronger than you even realize. You have an 800lb squat in you single ply at 242 like now basically.

Brb, ordering single ply suit.

Actually I guy I have lifted with a few times has a single play Titan centaurian that'll fit my hips so that's my goal by the new year, to squat 800.

All the loads I choose are loosely based from 100lbs subtracted from my competition 1rm so that's why it seems low. I still feel like I underestimate it though. I'll use today as a base to my strength block

Centurions are legit, or at least Super Centurions. I mean I've never been in one but a meet buddy that used to train at a predominantly singleply gym in MO likes it so much when he moved to Colombus for work and started training at Lexen he only added briefs and was keeping up with his multiply training partners pretty good.
