Didn't want to get too crazy, figured the vanilla would be a good baseline test. Not a huge chocolate guy but ice cream with some spicyness to it sounds damn good in my book so I picked it over the peanut brittle kind.

Haven't even bothered with Vanilla bean & mexi hot choco, kind of waste in my book.

I really liked milk n cookies cos my pint was Loaded. But salted crack, Nonna D's oatmeal and munchies are better than all of those. Gotta say that order is a fail IMO :(

You'll still enjoy them though

We shal see. I got turned off by the potato chips in the munchies, didn't know what to think about it. Figured I'd go the safer route for the first time. Also my dad looooves vanilla ice cream so if I can get him hooked on this stuff then it'll be cheaper for me ;) gotta play your cards right.

Agree 100%. If you are spending top $ for ice cream, go with the best flavors on the line.
I would reconsider your order, cancel it and try the flavors above..

Not a huge caramel fan, never have been since I had braces so if I wanted to replace that then what would go in its place?

Salted Crack Caramel has AH's best mix-in the crack cookies. Its a perfect blend of sweet and salty (caramel and crack cookies) plus big chunks of chocolate

Sweet as Honey I have had twice and absolutely love the sweetness is packs, and its like a huge swirl throughout the entire pint

If you ever had buttercake AH is loaded and consistent with mix-ins:

if you like rice krispy treats then Snap Mallow is a choice to consider

If you are not a huge caramel guy.. go with sweet as honey (Sweet Cream base with honeycomb candy pieces) or Raw Deal

Munchies & Nonna D's are a must, and I would consider the new PB Wins the Cup because PB For President (When limited was fantastic and a top notch flavor)

Ah I never have had butter cake so I didn't know what it was or what to expect so I avoided it. I do have to keep the vanilla in because I want to get my dad hooked so I don't have to pay for shipping anymore and I can just throw in a choice or two every time he orders. Other then that I'll be changing my order around lol

They don't make changing your order easy, can't seem to figure out how too.

Just use Ooey Gooey for your vanilla base. Tell dad to take one for the team and enjoy the mix-ins. Think about a very \ rich buttery cake mixed into a vanilla ice cream. Tastes fantastic and adds a nice dense mix-in to a pure vanilla ice cream.
If he likes Rice Krispy treats then guess what Snap Mallow is a safe bet.


They are pretty quick to respond via email
You can also call the shop with your order # and they will change it before being shipped.

I told my gf how you all raved about it and when she triedd it she was super disappointed... said it was almost just vanilla

I personally found the cheese crown base to pack a denser/sweeter aftertaste compared to Graeter's base vanilla. Has she tried their vanilla or cookie dough chocolate chip? Graeter's vanilla is very good, but the cheesecrown has a much stronger luscious aftertaste to it IMO

maybe GNO , LLN and mkretz can chime in on their take.
 
Cheesecrown is the best Cheesecake base I've had

Overall a great pint.
I have had their vanilla, and yeah I'd rank the Cheesecrown base as richer and sweeter


Hurray for being in the know for once, I've only had 4 Graeters pints too lol so lucky

I know everyone has liked it... just reporting what I heard. She hasn't had their vanilla, but just said that the cheese crown was totally boring and not worth the $ and she LOVES cheesecake

Since we are talking about loved ones, I'll be respectful. But let me just say that the base in Cheese Crown is about as close to vanilla as it is to chocolate...or peanut butter.

It is a very tangy and cheesy base. Nothing subtle about it.

Got 2 flavors of Ben & Jerry's last night. Was only planning on getting 1 but it was 2 for $7 so I couldn't turn it down. The reason I went to the store was to get the Peanut Butter Core flavor because I am an absolute peanut butter junky.

So I only had a couple bites of each.
The Peanut Butter Core is pretty good stuff, not to overwhelming on the peanut butter although I was hoping that it would be. All in all very solid. Maybe 8-8.5/10
The Pistachio Pistachio flavor was unreal. Was blown away, you get a decent bit of pistachio pieces which is great, but the ice cream is like a sweet cream pistachio flavor. I struggled to put the container down, but I did. For me it was 9-9.5/10

Now as for my rating out of 10. I haven't had as much experience in the ice cream world as many of you had. So my 10 is based off limited ice cream knowledge, just wanted to be clear lol.

Peanut Buttah Core is one of the top of BnJ flavours so I think you need to eat more of the pint lol

You're probably right, I gotta just sit down one night and plow threw some ice cream haha. I just feel guilt as sh!t eating those spoon fulls of heaven!

such good PB pints on the B&J Lineup.
also missing oatmeal cookie chunk which was unreal.. sad to see B&J won't pay for those oatmeal cookies to keep that flavor alive.
 
Was just told that Haagen Dazs had Vodka being run on the factory line

Definitely a harsher liquor to use, wonder what's going down

That's odd, it would have to be a 21+ ice cream unless they boil the alcohol off which leaves them with basically nothing. Curious to see how that goes down unless they are making alcoholic beverages now?

The past few alcohol themed pints have done pretty well (B&J)
