KLEEN - STRONG BODY STRONG MIND!

innnn
looking good , what'sthe bf % at the picture above ?

Welcome! I would say somewhere around 12% if I were to guess. Maybe a little higher or lower. My legs and arms are very lean, and vascular. However, I still have a little bit of a soft layer on the abs and back. My abs are pretty big so they start showing up earlier than most other people's. I don't measure body fat anymore, just go by look and performance capability.

Lookong good Kleen

Thanks Hokie!
Jacked lol

Haha! That's exactly the composition I am looking for! :) Thanks!

By the way coach gave me a few days off from training and a refeed day tomorrow before going back to training Tuesday. I am very excited about it, I definitely needed a few recovery days. Between recovering from the injury AND training it was slowing down recovery of both aspects. So we dropped the training for a few days so my body can focus on the shoulder, elbow and back recovery. Also got a nice change to programming to start on Tuesday as well.

Very excited about the extra calories coming my way this week also. Increasing overall calories across the board with a little more focus on fats for right now and I will get a day off from training every 5th day instead of every 9th.

Yeah, I know well enough when I am out of shape but to hear others making it the topic of their conversations was different. Helps me hold myself to standards though. When I notice that is to be expected because I am my own worst critic. When others are talking about it, I know I have lost track of my personal goals and need to refocus!

This last 5 months has been great because not only am I working on leaning up, but also getting stronger. I will be doing my first PL meet this October and will be starting my peaking cycle in the next few weeks. Just now starting to add calories back in from dropping the fat. I should grow leaner and leaner as I get bigger and stronger so it is going to get REAL interesting in here pretty quick!

We are lowering intensity just a little bit now and increasing volume for the next week or two. Then the actual Power Lifting peaking cycle begins and things start to get BUCK!

The worst part about hearing things like that at work is that 99% of the people are out of shape there haha. Friggin hypocrites

Oh yeah this guy is not in shape at all.

yupppp.
what compounds u used in last 5 month that got u in this jacked shape.

Mostly hard work and diet to be honest. I have been off of everything anabolic since some time in mid April when I lowered my TRT dose back down to 150mg a week. Before that I ran some low dose Trest, and Epi together. I have leaned up much more after getting off those supps through diet and high frequency weight training. I used the PH's to get me back to my pre injury size. I was already big and lean before I hurt myself. I am a little bit leaner now...

Like I said though I expect to be over 220 before we start to cut weight for the meet in October. That is what I am very excited to see. I haven't been that big with abs before.

wow even more impressive .
thanks man for sharing the info.

You're such a beast Chris! Looking awesome! Very happy for you and all of your progress!!

oh yeah?
ok

Not to be a jerk, but I almost said the same as Jim (not the You should try it part). I'm not remotely contending that anabolics aren't awesome transformation tools, BUT to assume getting in shape is purely a matter of picking the right compounds is also ignoring the WHOLE picture, and arguably demeaning to Chris's effort (although I'm sure you didn't mean that at all!).

Absolutely not at all, I ran 2 cycles one of them I blew up gained about 20 lbs diet was trash and training was pretty average, just got swole it was epistane and 4dhea, but didn't like how i looked .
ran 2nd cycle epiandro and 11 oxo had strict diet and good workouts and lost 13 lbs, loved how i looked.
so i understand the training aspect and diet.
and reason why i asked about the compounds is few month back when he came back at am i noticed his knowledge but he was in bad sshape so i saw his avatar and he looked ripped so i was impressed, and now I'm more impressed knowing that he wasn't using alot of aas and mainly his hard work .
and that dude was being a jerk thanks for pointing that out.

My initial reaction was to think WTH, but I have been in and around the game long enough to know that it was coming from a positive place. I chose to take it as a compliment that he thought my results were good enough to likely need to be PED assisted. It is a matter of education and expectations.

Around this board, and to be honest most boards that are supplement based in nature that everyone thinks that the biggest and best results come from the supps and the PED's. People will get on and run a sponsored log and all of the sudden the eyes are on them. Those who have a lot of self pride suddenly go from loosely following a diet plan to being strict and trying to do the product right so they can get more logs. What really improves them the most? The new attention to detail, and extra discipline they are using. Then they get leaner add a few lbs and suddenly product X looks like a miracle when in reality the biggest changes were behavioral.

I don't fault people for falling into that mindset, it is easy to do. I will tell you that logging a product ALWAYS increases my positive goal seeking behavior for exactly the same reason.

Ouch BAD shape? Let's say I was chubby, or soft... ;) I was still an athletic power house, with explosive speed, and decent muscular endurance.

No you are right, bad shape is correct. :) Bad shape for me is still pretty athletic.

I think Jim probably felt you were also being a jerk by discounting my hard work and was just trying to take up for his boy. Plus people who are making good progress naturally get very frustrated when people imply that excellent results can only be obtained when on PEDs. Your assumption of that probably triggers that preexisting annoyance even though it is the first time you asked it is the 1000th time we have seen it asked.

A possible rewording of the question that would be met with much better response might be. "Wow, you made one hell of a transformation, did you do that naturally?" Sounds much less like an assumption / accusation and more like you are extremely impressed which was your intent.

Ouch that's rough, but I laughed. House was such a funny prick!

Now let's all play nice.

You should have, why you gotta leave me out in the cold bro!

Spoken like a true optimist.

He knew you had been training in the AC and thought you were adapted to the cold. :)

The rest seems to be doing the trick, a lot of the stiffness is subsiding in my back. Traps still a little tight but not hurting or anything so I am pretty happy with that. According to Amazon I will have my slingshot, BFR bands, and other stuff by no later than the 13th. Got a new digital food scale too. Should make things easier. Mine was a cheesy old unreliable spring scale, and it finally gave up on life.

My poor daughter, she is having to deal with her first real death experience. I mean she has experienced it a little but not someone she loved. The owner of her Karate school passed this weekend. She has been at his school in his Karate Day Care every week day for over 5 years, and thought of him like a grandfather. She is completely heart broken. Someone left a memorial at the door of the facility for him and when she saw it this morning she just fell apart all over again. Nothing can really make a parent feel as helpless as your child being in pain and not being able to make it better. Was pretty hard to see this morning. Sitting here knowing she is there being reminded of him all day, and knowing she will be breaking down off and on all day is just kind of got me well for lack of a better word sad. Of course it is a loss of a man I respected too but my concern if for Trinity. Anyway, it is a good thing I have another night off tonight to baby her and love on her a bit. Poor little thing.

my apologies man i didn't mean this at all, I didn'teven think of it this way ,and sorry about ur daughter situation.
so what kind of workout routine and diet that got you looking jacked like that?

No apologies needed brother. I knew the intent was not to offend, but that you were asking because you were impressed with the progress.

Training has been almost all compound movements, workouts lasting anywhere from 60-120 minutes depending on the workout and how hot it is outside. When focusing on maximal weight being moved intra set recovery is extremely important and it takes longer in the heat for sure.

Split has been

Day 1 - Deads and accessories - rep ranges between 3-6 or 4-8 at a high RPE 7-9 depending on the day or movement.
Day 2 Bench and Accessories - rep ranges between 3-6 or 4-8 at a high RPE 7-9 depending on the day or movement.
Day 3 Squats and accessories - rep ranges between 3-6 or 4-8 at a high RPE 7-9 depending on the day or movement.
Day 4 Full body Metabolic Hypertrophy Training - Close Grip Bench, Sumo DL, and Low Bar Squats, all for 3 sets each x 20-30 reps @ RPE 7
Repeat these 4 days, rest 1 day and repeat.

2 weeks ago added in 2 HIIT sessions per week. Wingate fashion on a bike, 15 seconds 100% effort followed by rest is one cycle, was doing 5 cycles per HIIT session. Changing it down to 3 per session as of this week.

Diet has been relatively low carb moderate to high protein, and high fats. I was averaging about 2400 cals a day, then bumped to 2600 the week before last, and will be about 2750 average as of this week. I do have anabolic and lipolytic focused days, where fats and carbs are moved around, and get one day of trace carbs only each week.

2750 kcal average x day? You look huge, this number seems very low for your physique and workout regime, what a surprise!

Yes, and this will be her first funeral to go too next week. I am glad she gets to go though, it is very important to her. As sad as this is, at least it was not a close relative first. This will at least give her some coping tools for when that happens. Both of her Nana's from JoAnn's side of the family are in poor health, and my Dad has been a walking time bomb of health issues for the last few years, any of which could take him away from us at any time. Lots of health issues, totally messed up with him from Agent Orange exposure in Nam. So this, as sad as it is will give her come coping tools for when any of them pass.

Wow, sorry to hear that man.

I hope things start getting better for her soon. It always seems harder losing someone when you're younger....

But it's good to hear you're starting to feel closer to normal!

I think they will she is young resilient and ADHD... that is a great combination for getting over sorrow. I have ADHD and thank goodness it often works with sadness and emotion as well. My mind can be taken off of the sorrow pretty easily by just about any distraction. I am hoping the same for her.

Thanks, she is doing really well now, just as I expected. I know the funeral will be rough on her but she is already doing so much better.

Wednesdays Lift -
Dead Lifts - 405x6, 6, 6, 6, 4, 3 back off sets 315x6, 315x6 - What an increase in volume!

DB Hammer Curls 45x8, 7, 6

Overhand Shrugs 375x6, 6, 6

Drawbridges 8, 8, 7

Rope Crunches 11 plates x8, 8, 8

Tuesday's Lift-
Bench W/ Slingshot - 265x6 x 6 sets, 235x6 x 2 sets
felt really good, nice and protected.

Dips - Changed to Body Weight w/ 4 second negatives x6 sets of 8 - I did my first warm up to see how it felt and felt more comfortable with keeping the movement but dropping the added weight. Just slower negatives with very explosive concentric contractions.

Seated DB Press - 55x8, 60x8, 65x8 - started to press with the BB but it didn't feel right so I moved over to DB's to get the same movement. Can easily go up but was being careful.
Rope Triceps Ext - 8 plates x 8, 8, 8

Shoulder felt great throughout workout. I made the adjustments to keep from aggravating it when I could tell that I was going to if I kept going.

Not sure if I will do Squats tonight or Hacks, probably end up doing Hacks this time just to avoid any chance of pissing it or the elbow off then try some Low Bar Stance tomorrow during the Hypertrophy workout when less weight is being used.

I will be traveling this weekend for work. I am leaving tomorrow morning. Will try to get my workout in before I go. If not I won't be able to lift until Saturday. If that happens I will just take tomorrow as the day of rest that Saturday would have been then do tomorrow lift Saturday and start the next round back up Sunday.

Missed this the other day. Yes that is right at where I am now. I have a very efficient metabolism. I don't need much to gain and gain fat easily, but I also don't have to cut that many calories to cut either. Keeps the groceries bill under control.

Morning everyone, thought I would report in. Had a ROUGH weekend, had to travel to Austin for a network upgrade we were doing on Friday and had it blow up in my face effectively ruining my weekend. A planned 6 hour outage turned into a 30+ hour fiasco where we were not even sure we could get the network back online due to a switch failure. Couldn't even leave the office for food. Was pretty brutal I have not pulled an all nighter in a very long time. Actually the staying up wasn't so bad. It is just that I AM STILL DOG ASS TIRED!!!!!

I did get up early that morning for some leg work.

Hacks - 100x10, 190x5, 280x5, 370x5, 460x6, 460x, 460x6, 460x6, 460x6, 460x6, 370x6, 370x6 - Hands down the most volume I have ever pushed on hack squats!!!! I have gone heavier but this was 6 sets at 460!

Leg Press Squat Stance - 20p x 8, 8, 8

Calf Machine 390x8, 8, 8

Drawbridges x8, 8, 8

Rope Crunches 180x8,8,8

Friday extra "cardio" moving heavy UPS around office all evening. For anyone who does not know, a UPS is basically just a big long awkward metal box with a 150lb battery in it for when power fails.

Saturday work and sleep, Sunday slept almost all day but promised my daughter I would take her to the park to hunt Pokemon. So I got up and took my happy ass to the park for a few hours yesterday too. Probably why I am still exhausted. Running around in 100 degrees on the hunt for make believe animals. LOL Yeah you can take my Man card for playing if you want, my Daddy Card trumps a Man Card ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!!!!

Today was the full body Hypertrophy workout. I was pretty tired but got in and got it out of the way because tonight is my son's birthday and we are taking him out for dinner. He has already made his request for a steakhouse and some cheesecake for his cake. :)

good thing u r ok, and pokemon hunting is reall haha, good workout man.
also what would u recommend for genetically challenged calve?

My recommendation for a genetically challenged calve, :) (sorry that is funny the way you worded it) would be frequency and variety. Train them 2-3 times a week, superset tibial raises with them every set and switch back and forth between very heavy weight for 5-6 reps, and tempo work doing 5-5-1-5, so 5 second negatives, 5 second stretch at bottom and 1 second contraction and 5 second hold at top for 5-10 reps with as much weight as you can handle in that range. Also make sure you are doing something that works the soleus too as a lot of the size comes from the soleus. Once you bend your leg your soleus us activated. So I tend to bend my knees a little on my straight leg stuff to make sure I am always hitting them a little if training. However you will also want direct work by doing the bent leg calf raise as well.

If you stick to it in 2 months you should see some difference and in 6 they should be pretty noticeable. Calves grow slowly so keep consistent and on the grind and they will grow.

Okay everybody, things are getting very exciting! This Saturday marks the actual beginning of my meet prep!!!!

My workouts will be changing up a bit now, not exactly sure what they are going to look like, I am very excited to see it myself!!!!

Tonight's workout is Dead lifts, and will be the last normal workout before starting the prep. Then I am taking 2 days off, then doing some max attempts on the big 3 Friday evening. I will be careful on the bench and squats but push as hard as I can safely to get a nice max. My shoulder has been feeling much better, and I think it is up to the challenge for sure!

Can't wait to see the starting maxes vs the end... gonna be a sweet prep!

you're in the houston area right?

How many weeks out from the meet?

thank u bro , I'll try to sort out through ur advice and get a good routine.
also iti s truly genetically challenged calves and shoulders Igot shoulders figured out thanks to Dma378 log .
good luck with the meet

Thanks Daniel! This should be a lot of fun!
Can't wait to see the starting maxes vs the end... gonna be a sweet prep!

you're in the houston area right?
Thanks, me either! Although, other than Dead Lifts I am not sure I will get my best max on this attempt. He told me to move up carefully and feel things out as I go and decide how far to push it based on how everything is feeling. Before this shoulder business I could bench 365, and an estimated squat around 465-475, but I haven't pushed very heavy on either of them in weeks so we shall see how things go. I think I should still be moving some weight and would be ecstatic to see some increases although I don't expect any on those two lifts. I do however expect to beat my old max of 575 on dead lifts. I am thinking a 600 pull is going to go down this weekend!

Yes I am, my address is Houston but I am just about 15 miles South of downtown on I-45 by where the Beltway intersects with it. Are you from this area?
How many weeks out from the meet?

This Saturday will be 12 weeks exactly. I will be starting the cycle Saturday and my first workout of Meet Prep will be Monday. Also going in to get some TRT bloodwork done in the morning. So I will have an idea of any blood work anomalies I should keep my eye on if sides start getting silly.

u live in Houston cool man i live in katy, it's cool to see ppl from around the area on AM.
Yes Sir, knowing where people are around here is cool. I like to meet up with people for a workout sometimes.
Gulf and Beltway? As in Pasadena? Lol

A true local, and close, I am not claiming Pasadena, though just a little South of there. I was raised there through my teen years. I am actually in Sagemont which is like a Bastard child of Houston, Pasadena, and Pearland. Literally there are different sections of the area in all 3 cities. My kids go to a Pasadena Independent School District, our address, water bill and trash are handled by Houston, and there is a sign in the middle of one of the neighborhoods saying welcome to Pearland.

If you are that familiar with the area then you will know where the AMC 30 theater is right there at the intersection of 45 and the beltway. Well I am literally directly across from the movie theater on the other side of the Beltway about 2 blocks into the neighborhood.

I remember you saying you were local but where exactly are you from again?

Not from there but working in town 3 weeks in August.

I drive that way several times a week. Girlfriends brother just moved to Friendswood. Also play topgolf with a buddy from Baytown in Webster.

I'm in the inner loop. West U area.

If you're on the north side you should come get a session in with me.

I'm gonna be around the energy corridor westchase area... Not sure where that is in relation but I'd love to get a session in some evening if I could find the time

Westchase is just outside of beltway. A little south west of the Bunker Hill area. Energy corridor is north of that around Katy freeway.

Out by Sugar land?

I actually work out there (sugar land), and never would've known about that place if this conversation hadn't happened lol.

I never really venture d too far out of the Spring/Tomball/Humble/Woodlands area.

You know what area of Houston you will be in?

I didn't know they built one out there. I may have to go out there just to practice my swing in the AC sometime. I haven't swung my clubs in years!

Okay so last nights Dead lifts went well.

Dead Lifts 135x3, 225x3, 315x3, 405x6, 405x6, 405x5, 405x6, 405x4, 405x4, 335x6, 335x6 - Weight moving fast and easy! I miscounted on set 3 and saw I only did 5 on the video...

Overhand Shrugs from the floor - 405x6, 405x6, 405x6 - I didn't feel like stripping and reloading the bar on the safeties of the rack so I just dead lifted them up and then shrugged.

DB Hammer Curls 4-0-1-0 tempo - 50x8, 50x8, 50x4 - 5lbs increase

Knees to Elbows 8, 8, 8

Ab Roll Outs - 8, 8, 8

Did a couple progress pics this morning after the chaotic weekend with subpar nutrition choices and a free meal for my boys Birthday Monday I am holding a little water but not complaining after the weekend I had. Last weigh in was 203.6, and todays is 204.8, also makes sense since we increase cals a bit.
