It was likely not "sigsaw," but "Sig Sauer" which is a gun manufacturer/company (think Colt or Bushmaster). I've heard that the shooter used a Sig MCX, which is, for all intents and purposes, the same damn thing as an AR. It's a semi-automatic high capacity rifle. As for why he didn't use an AK, who knows? Does it really matter? Middle-eastern forces commonly use AKs because they're cheap to make and durable, not because there's something patriotic about the caliber.

Yeah, it looked like a joke, but that's kinda why I was asking. Nobody knows what a SigSauer is, even the other mil buddies I asked here! And the news lady doesn't pronounce it right (or maybe I heard it wrong.) But I thought it was a sidearm or something.

As a PS, it appears they make a BB caliber MCX also! And the barrel is huge, it looks tougher than the real thing even.

People on the news have no idea what they're talking about, and never bother to check facts.

They make a lot of these guns in rifle calibers, 22, bbs, airsoft, etc.

Navy Seals use the Sig P226 handgun. That's probably what they're known for mostly.

You only have to be 18 to possess and carry a handgun legally in many states.

They proposed changes to ITAR regulations and definitions used there to include technical data posted online as being restricted. Basically, posting info about firearm specs in an online forum could be an ITAR infraction.

How many minors have committed mass shootings in a school, because my memory seems to be drawing a blank? You apparently know something that the entire lib media doesn't know, because they would have been all over that.

Many people hunt with them. Many people compete in competitive shooting leagues using them. Since you never see them besides at a range in communist NY, you are in the dark about them.

Maybe to protect a compound, but then a special permit should be obtained. I think we can all agree that we need some sort of amendments to the current laws.

People want to own these types of guns, then maybe form a gun club where you keep these types of weapons on premises in a controlled setting, not in residence, especially where there are kids, alcohol, etc etc. I'm all for being able to shoot guns dude.

Columbine shooter was 17, for one. Pretty much any of these school shootings can be prevented by different laws.
 
Like I said, I'm not against guns. Love em. Murica. I'm not here to argue cos we'll end up stating our stances over and over. And then over again.

Some likely could have been, but not all.

I should also point out that most shootings/gun deaths in the US are not mass shootings and don't involve ARs, AKs, or rifles at all. Most are committed with handguns by run of the mill criminals and gang members.

Ok 1 mass school shooting committed by a couple kids, who used rifles that shoot 9mm handgun ammo. They probably got their parents guns. But you keep acting like every single mass shooting was done by minors.

It's already against the law to have a gun on school property, and that law didn't stop it.Invalid Link Removed

Edit I found that 1 person knowingly bought a couple guns for them, and 1 knowingly and illegally sold 1 to the minors, for well over market price.

Yeah thats right, communist NY. Most of NY is actually a blue state, the politicians on the democrat side usually get NYC, and a few other pockets to get the majority vote.

There is a 7 bullet limit on clips here now I think. They threw a decorated Iraq war vet in the slammer just because after he got pulled over they found 3 empty "illegal size" clips in his trunk. They threw a NFL player in the slammer and he shot himself!

NY sucks azz with guns, cant get a conceal carry even with a perfect record in southern tier unless you have some special reason such as having a security job.

Just another kid on prescription meds, just like most of the other mass shootings. Could have been prevented if they werent given psychotropic drugs.

Obama is a hypocrite...he is in favor of these changes, even though they violate the 1st amendment....but he won't shutdown radical Islamic terrorism sites that tell how to make a pipe bomb in your kitchen or garage---for fear of violating a potential terrorist's 1st amendment rights, geez Obama is wrong, just plain wrong!!!

mental illness in this country is a major problem....you can say a terrorist has been radicalized, but I would be willing to bet that anyone willing to commit mass murder/suicide has a past history of mental illness....I think the laws on patient privilege where a medical practitioner sees warning signs but isn't allowed to inform authorities needs to be looked at.

the democrats will put their usual spin on this, they are very good at spin.

a special prosecutor needs to look into the emails and Clinton foundation, no way can or will Obama appointees be fair and impartial. if there is no special prosecutor all of Hillary's misdoing's will be swept under the table.
 
As an aside to the argument that an AR15 isn't a good home defense weapon. It is if it's a short barreled AR that shoots 9mm and uses the same mags as your Glock. :)Invalid Link Removed

Hitlery takes money from the Saudi's which is a conflict of interest when it comes to national security as you will watch and see how she will block any attempt to have the "28 pages" unclassified that show her financing buddies also helped finance 9/11.

I thought that was Bush's buddies. His family always had ties with Bin Laden. They've been doing business for years prior to 9/11
