yes...I carry a .40 and my wife carrys a 9mm. we don't carry as often since moving from indy to terre haute.....BUT if I were traveling to Chicago I would definitely be carrying-rather it was legal or not...you know the old saying..better to be judged by 9 jurors than 9 pallbearers.

last weekend a person was shot every 43 seconds in chicago!!! and Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation.

Every 43 seconds...sorry but that's bull**** lol. There are 86,400 seconds in a day. 2 days in a weekend. I dont even have to break the math down to tell you that the number of deaths that would come out to is absurdly too large.

Unless my math is wrong, youre trying to tell me ~4000 people were "shot" in 2 days.

lol....I watched Hillary's speech today....I wonder how much amphetamine Elizabeth warren shot her up with? they could have been twins up there flapping around. honestly trump says Hillary is ill and doesn't have the stamina for a presidential campaign. you notice how much time off she takes and hardly ever makes a personal appearance 2 day in a row....I think Hillary was on more drugs than Michael Jackson/elvis and prince combined for that speech today. i would bet money Hillary was hopped up on something, her eyeballs were bigger than silver dollars!!!
 
59 people were shot over that weekend in Gun Free zone Chicago (thanks Obama!) 13 deaths.

Now, so far 306 deaths in 2016 alone in Chicago and 1,800 people shot. Thanks Obama!

according to the congressional research center there are 300 million guns in America...

if gun sales of all kinds were banned tomorrow how difficult would it be for a criminal to get a gun?....granted it won't be a legal gun, but if you are seeking a gun to commit a crime or kill someone, or even commit an act of terrorism I don't think that person is too concerned with legality!!!

As long as there is a metal shop, guns are impossible to get rid of.

Did you know you can make guns with those new (and now affordable) 3D printers at home.....automatics too!

Im most worried about rice cookers, they should be the #1 priority for congress to ban. I mean, who wouldnt support that? People really hate marathon runners?

True, but look at all these mass shooting that have taken place, Most of them are by youngsters, even children in schools. Some of them even using their parent's guns. Do you really think they can easily obtain a gun illegally?

I can see an adult doing so, but not these kids, not easily anyhow. I think they're more likely to get robbed trying to do so, or laughed away.

just because the government makes something illegal doesn't mean if you want it you can't get....can you say steroids, lol.

You beat me to it. All prohibition did is fix our organized crime shortage. And the war on drugs? Yeah, it's so hard to get drugs now, right.
 
You guys honestly think gun runners are gonna sell to teenagers? Drugs yes, but weapons?

Y'all know it's mostly teenagers/youngsters doing these mass shootings right?

I already wrote why, kids are more likely to get robbed trying to buy illegal guns from adult criminals. Just think about it. Think about the money involved, and how easy it would be.

Not gun runners. Some guy selling a gun on Craigslist or just by word of mouth. A lot of people really just want to sell their gun, and it's easy for someone to seem sane for the few minutes during the purchase. All they have to do is show ID (possibly fake) and say (lie?) that they're not a criminal or otherwise prohibited from owning a gun. Most sellers aren't going to ask/care farther than that. People should really familiarize themselves with gun laws, regulations, terminology, etc before they try to talk about this subject...

Read my latest post; they're not buying from criminals in the way you think, just from average Joes selling their guns and not asking many questions. It is really that simple.

I truly don't see an adult selling guns to kids on craigslist. That would not only instantly make them a criminal, but would be easily traceable back to them!!

Former CNN Journalist Amber Lyon was fired for trying to cover genocide in Bahrain a few years back. First they threaten to take away her insurance benefits then she was told to take a hike because they wanted her to cover Iran propaganda instead.

Yes as far as I know we have a US base there, the reason why the CIA did not want her to cover the genocide, there is nothing else to gain there. CIA by laws runs all mainstream media propaganda when they want to.

If you're 18 years old (or have a quality fake ID) and can pass for 18 to the average person, I can guarantee that there are many people who will sell you a firearm (rifle, shotgun, etc, not a pistol most likely though). Some people (a small minority) will only sell to people with a concealed carry permit, but those people are in the minority. All most people will do is write up a simple bill of sale, write the person's drivers license # and info, and have them sign it. That's really it, trust me. If they did all of that, and the kid is 18 and they have no reason to believe that he/she is prohibited from owning a firearm, they are not responsible for what the kid does with the gun. That's what the bill of sale is for; the buyer states that they are legally allowed to own a firearm. Yeah, if they're willing to commit a crime with a gun, they're also willing to lie on a contract, but that's the law...

I dont understand whats so taboo about kids having guns anyways. I mean some father will post a facebook post with their 12 year old kid with a bushmaster and next thing you know his school calls child services and all hell breaks loose.

besides federal law provides no minimum age to buy a long gun or long gun ammunition, a kid can legally buy a rifle or shotgun legally under federal law......bet you didn't know that-huh?

Kids will use their slingshots to protect themselves when buying guns that they don't already have, because that's all they will have to protect themselves from being robbed, or maybe a knife, or homemade potato gun?

What do you consider a kid? It is completely legal to sell an AR-15 to an 18 year old on the spot in cash. If the 18 year old isn't shady as **** and states that they aren't prohibited from owning a firearm, it's a legit legal sale. There is no criminal here. Will the kid use the gun in a crime? Maybe, but that doesn't make the seller a criminal. It's really incredibly simple logic, I don't see what you're not getting. I'm not saying they go to their local gang/dealer and ask to buy a gun...

you forget 1 important fact...in a social circle of 10-15 teenagers at least one will have a gun in the house that they can gain access to.

I remember being a teenager and we were very good at getting things we weren't supposed to, and in todays world with both parents working or living in a single parent household I would think that it is easier today than then....kids today are very industrious, they know how to get what they want-or one of their friends does.
