The kind of "recovery" you are requiring post-hernia surgery...those supps would be of better use after you have recovered. Training recovery is not the same as post-surgery recovery. The later is more like rehabilitation.
I had hernia surgery last year. You still on pain meds? You want to be careful you dont aggravate the injury site/incision regions.
The main concern, after injury rehabilitation, is minimising atrophy. Again, those natty supps are not going to do a hell of alot without being used in conjunction with an appropriate resistance training program. Also, keeping protein intake adequate.
If you want to spend money on natty supps whilst still in active recovery phase, look into schisandra and HMB.
