So does that mean you'll ALWAYS vote for the Democrat, or would you potentially vote for a third party?
Well see, here's the deal. Where I'm originally from (Canada), there are multiple parties, but overall - there are 3 big ones (and a couple fringe ones).
There's the Progressive Conservative party (PC's) who are very right wing.
There's the Liberal Party (slightly right of center but very moderate). I used to always vote for them, as I'm a moderate and a pragmatist.
Then there's the NDP party, National Democratic Party, who are very left of center.
If I become an American citizen, I would always vote Democrat, or Independent. I would certainly consider a 3rd option. In fact I mentioned Gary Johnson not long ago in this thread.
It's my opinion that the American political system is too monopolistic. There's never enough options here to represent the mass amount of citizens and their interests. 2 parties are just enough to ensure the right people are in place to represent the interests of the corporations and lobbyists.
