jayo84 doing good so far bro- are you taking anything else with this? pre work out or add't bcaa's before during or after. Thinking of using lax at some point in the near future. Curious as to the doms effect, which is a great thing. It will come but if it is less than normal with lax use, this is HUGE

I ran out of BCAA so nothing else at this point except a little caffeine pre workout and sometimes NO3 drive by pro supps pre workout as well for pumps.
 
Good work bro. The handstand walks will come. Its kinda funny i was never able to do any sort of distance on Handstand walks til i stopped trying to practice them for a while. When i came back to them i went all the way across the gym. You'll get them.

I second that on the airdyne. I use to have to use those alot doing mma conditioning. And the rowing machine. I hated rowing for calories too.

I told the box owner I was taking all the bikes to the scrap yard for scrap metal lol.

I do ok on the rower, but I don't hate it like the airdyne..
 
I went in for my saturday wod once and i was the only one that showed up. I got to row a 5k. Dang that wasnt fun. 19:00 of straight rowing
 
Not as bad as thought it was going to be!

Ring dips were pretty easy!

Today will be the first evening I double up! So it will be crossfit at 6pm and barbell at 7pm! I have doubled on saturday mornings with barbell being first so this should be interesting. If I don't report back you'll know why!!

Youre telling me that you have muscle ups but not double unders? Get on it man. Lol what kind of rope do you use?
 
I have a pricey speed rope.. A better jumper can get triples on it. So its all me, not the rope lol. I suck!! Just need to spend more time on it
 
Yeah thats one of those things that just takes practice. And whipping yourself over and over and over and over again lol it sucks but once you get them down its nice.
 
I spent 30 minutes last night practicing double unders over and over, still cant get the things, lol. I have never even attempted muscle ups.
 
They a killer.... Im hitting up cross fit tonight. Toying with the idea of doing it FT.
The CF I drop into has a competition training team, I would love to compete.
 
yeah. double unders are bitches!! CF is fun as hell, and I look to compete some day too.. I started last june and still not quite ready to compete yet. I can tell you I am in the best shape of my life though!
 
I loved crossfit. But right now im more into strength training and getting bigger. Someday when my finances are in order ill come back to crossfit for a few days a week for conditioning but cant afford it right now. Spendy. It would be cool to come back now though cause i would be the strongest guy in the box by far lol. My crossfit total (squat, deadlift, and strict shoulder press) beats the 1st place guy on that board by over 200 pounds now lol

I guess it would be pretty difficult to put on size while only crossfitting. I am hoping that doing barbell 2x week will help me..

Saturday wasn't too mad. Was only able to get in for the team workout. Which was tire flips burpees and 200m run for 7 rounds.

Those are some impressive strength gains. Just a thought, but if you really want to drop into crossfit, check out groupon. I literally snagged a 10-drop in pass for $20. I only go once a week, and it satisfies the itch. I would like to make it my main workout for a season, with so many movements, its hard to master them when only going 1-day per week :/
 
How is the laxo treating you? Are you cutting the fat, and maintaining the muscle & strength?
 
Strength is great. Fat is not coming off super fast, but I am in need of changing my diet a little. I am almost always at a deficit but my carbs may still be too high.
 
You keep hanging around crossfit, and you will be on paleo in no time, LOL!

Ha! I have some doubts about that! Actually some of the higher level performers eat somewhat crappy.
 
I am on a solid BB diet, but literally just began paleo today! Not a whole lot of change, but maaaan I cant stand not having my oatmeal! Ill give it a try for at least 3-weeks. If it sucks or I get fatigued, ill ditch it and go back to my normal bb diet.

Yesterday was an ok day!

Set a new Snatch complex PR!

Doesn't sound like a lot but I hit 95lbs. For me thats a great number. I know my shoulders are my weak point in this movement.

The WOD was difficult because of 1 item, the Hand stand push ups. I soaked way too much time into these.. I was unable to finish in the time cap.. But a bunch of people did not. If I would have scaled the pushups I would have finished no problem, I am really trying to challenge myself.

I was able to hold on the rings for 3 sets of 30 seconds.

Its always better to hit the rx and not finish in the allotted time than to scale it and finish quickly not having challenged yourself. Good job bro. Your on the right track. I was always the guy that never scaled anything no matter how hard the WOD was. I regretted that several times early on but it pays off in the end

My left shoulder seems to be my limiting factor in any of the overhead motions. Pretty much every time I snatch or push press or jerk it starts to hurt.

I can tell you when I started it was almost a show stopper pain. Now its very mild pain even though the weight is getting heavier. So I guess I am heading in the right direction? I may need to start going in once a week and just hammering on shoulder exercises..

So barbell was interesting again..

We did scott press and duck walk complex. I did better than last time by a little. Still empty bar. The scotts press can kiss my ass.

3 position snatch complex =snatch from ground+snatch below knee, and last from above the knee. I hit a new PR!! 100lbs!! Even though my shoulder was hurting from the day before!!

10 sec overhead barbell snatch grip holds= 4 sets @ 115lbs!

We also did glute ham raises and L holds on the bar.

All in all not bad!

A ton of overhead work. Again my shoulder paid the price. My left one continues to be a problem. Although this time the pain is in a different spot. I will take that as a good sign lol... Means to me the other spot is stronger than before? Probably not the case but I like to think that way.

B: Snatch (60/3, 70/3, 75/3, 80/3, 85/3, 80/3, 85/3)== Almost made all 3 reps! But hit 2 reps at current PR @ 115lbs!!
C: Back Squat (8 sets x 1 rep @ 85-90% w/ 3 sec pause) The 3 seconds SUCKED! Last set maxed out at 255lbs!!

I am a bit sore today as we can all imagine!

Between going to crossfit 1 day per week, and reading your updates.... I have decided to finish out my 6 drop ins, and join my local box FT. I am slightly afraid of losing some of my gains (bench/bias specifically), but I know I will pick up multiple other skills along the way.

Here is my paleo update... I throw in the towel, I was so freakin' wiped out that my workouts sucked. I ended up drinking afternoon coffee (which I never do), and used pre work out, which I never do as well. Before trying it I had a 95% clean BB diet, so I really only removed milk, & oats. I think that taking away my oats jacked me up! I put them back in today, and can already tell a difference. On a positive note, removing milk made me stop farting, lol. So Ill be drinking almond/coconut/lactose free milk form here on out!

Well I am glad I influenced someone! You won't regret it, I truly believe in the functional strength aspect. I Mow the grass faster chase my little one around and still have energy. I am stronger all around than I ever been. You will be amazed at how many stabilizer muscles we miss with traditional lifting!

I currently have a 10-drop in pass to Terrapin Crossfit, but they are merging with Top Tier Crossfot. I'll finish out my drop ins there, but wont join. Top Tier is Reebok recognized, and 205 per month! Next month I'll join a smaller box around the corner from my house for 120 per month.

Yeah that top tier looks real intense! That's a high price though.. I guess if the area has the money.. I know it wouldn't do too well in my area..

Not farting is over-rated! Don't give up on milk so easy. Besides, how do you make shakes, with almond milk?

And I agree, you can dump wheat and corn, and paleo is great and all with strategic modifications, but oats are still a smart inclusion.

Haha, right! Soooo, this just happened... I entered my first Crossfit competition next Saturday. I'll do scaled, I have the strength, and cardio from running and MTB. However, my skill is not 100, I really wanted to wait a couple months, but I folded to pear pressure, lol.

The events called, 2016 Backyard Barbell Brawl.

Nice. I made a goal to start competing after a year or so into cf. I can tell you I feel ready in some regards. I have moved up well. Today is a prime example. I actually placed 4th overall male in the wod. And 5th on front squats! It will be a year in June.

I got 6 rounds and 6 calories into the airdyne.

I have to admit, I don't feel "ready." I need a couple more months to kick up my cardio again, and smooth out my form. However, since I entered scaled I should be ok. Ill let you know if it was a mistake after next Saturday, lol.

Everyone swears you will go above your normal limit when you are in the heat of battle! The adrenaline will be amazing. I am looking forward to that!!
I would like to compete in the team comp first. It seems like I would like that better.. There is one coming up in l a week and a half around us. I am kinda waiting for someone to ask me to go.. I feel like my fellow x fitters will know when I am ready. I was questioned 2 times now why I don't compete so I guess I show promise..


Side note: The burn extreme finally came yesterday! I am typing a little faster than usual right now as I am hyped up!!!

On A/E, the next person cannot start their round until the person in front of them finishes the bear crawl. On B/D, each partner must be carrying one of the objects at all times. My team did well!! I outdid a gentleman who competes! we did all this in just under 30mins

Here are some facts:

All of my lifts are getting better due to strength and technique.

I have been sore but nothing too bad. I can tell healing is faster!
My knees feel pretty damn good considering the amount of squats and such.
