The Unofficial Ice Cream thread

Those sound great, salt and straw is legit so I'd consider it

What flavors have you had? I wanted to grab the coconut with Salted Carmel Bars, but again I am not a huge coconut fan that is why I opted with Gooey Brownie + Salted ganache with Almond Brittle.

Pots of Gold = Lucky Charms in ice cream form.. should be epic.
Cinnamon SnickerDoodle I heard is very good and Salted Caramel Cupcake just sounds divine...

Arrives on my Bday next week.. What a great country.

Got some info about Graeter's Pints... Especially after my scoop of the limited flavor above..

"For the record, the chips in this as all of our ice creams are the same amount (by volume) and made the same way. Although this flavor has milk chocolate chips while most of our other flavor have semi-sweet chocolate chips. Because this is a hand-made product, the chips vary significantly in size and sometimes in distribution.

- This is from Bob Graeter the owner.

This is why some pints have massive chunks and some or hit or miss.

Had Buckeye chip the other night, Bob -- you were right, it was wonderful. :)

just picked up one to stash for myself last night as well... we will see how long it lasts ha

It wont last long...
Especially if you are gifted with some epic Signature chocolate chips.
But again if you are not a cookie dough and PB Fiend it may not be your favorite flavor. But lets be real here.. For 95% of Americans that is a typical favorite combo :)

If you liked Tonight Dough. Buckeye is just a glorified pint that tastes much better. I think MidwestBeast agrees with that one.

Oh I've had it before a few times. It's in my all time top 3 any ice creams

Your order looks like exactly what I'd order

Total bust. Very limited blueberry flavor and no sign of pancake. Also kind of an odd, icy consistency that I didn't expect from a full caloried frozen yogurt. Not worth the buy.

But then there's one of the GOATs

Always satisfies.

Talenti Peanut Butter Pretzel:

All in all this one had some high points and low points. Right away the high point is the base. Take your favorite peanut butter and add a sweet and sugary addition to it and that is exactly what you get. The creaminess of the gelato has it melting in your mouth every single bite. The downside was the swirl and mix-ins. Looking at the pint you can see chunks of peanut butter, but that is all I got. The same is said with the chocolate covered pretzel balls. Talenti can either strike gold or be a swing and a miss when it comes to mix-ins. They need to improve their consistency of mix-ins like Ample Hills from top to bottom. Overall a good flavor, just fell way short on mix-ins.

Grade: C+

Okay, so April 1 I'm going to do a 12-week challenge and I'll be dialing it in pretty strict. I'm not going off the rails, but before pics are on Friday so I'm going to treat myself just a bit Wednesday and Thursday night. Planning on grabbing a pint of Buckeye Chip for one night and trying to decide what to grab for the other. What do you guys think? I only have a Krogers to choose from here and Walmart's selection is HORRIBLE now (not that it was great before, but even worse now). Gonna do something enjoyable for dinner each night; wings one night probably; maybe pizza the other. Finish it off with a pint.

So what should I do aside from Buckeye? Worth one of the Talenti's (never tried any of there's still)? One of the Private Reserve collections or whatever?

I want to hear what you guys think :)

^Talenti has some good options, certainly for their cal density (most mine were 240 iirc)

Light on mix ins, solid gelato base though, Bob has the good ones memorized no doubt ;)

Grab the Graeters black raspberry chocolate chip too

Talenti The new PB Pretzel was meh.. I will say SSC (Sea Salt Caramel) Hazelnut Chocolate chip and Choc PB Cup are good, but I would put Graeters above it.
Get a Cookies & Cream or Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip from Graeters. Those are both BOMB

For the price if you can get it Graeters will top it, but it comes down to personal preference. Private select is dirt cheap, but I think you will enjoy Buckeye far better than any talenti or Private Select Pint.

If you have a target nearby Peanut Butter World by B&J is solid.
if you have a Cheesecrown in stock (For Graeters) Grab it. The quality and mix-ins will be superior and tastes like a legit cheesecake with cinnamon swirl pieces in it.

Also just noticed this must be the official AM site rep thread ;) lol

S'more drumsticks!!

IMO talenti sucks... have yet to ahve a flavor from them that I would buy again.

Graeters has always been good to me so one of their other choc chip flavors is def a good choice.

B&J pb world, everything but the, or the tonight dough are all solid.

I really liked the gelato fiasco maine blueberry as well (if looking for something other than pb/choc/cookie dough)

Hit the Chinese buffet for dinner (not out of control by any means) with the wife and Kroger is next door, so we walked around for a bit after. Noticed they have all the Graeters flavors Bob mentioned. Will probably pick 2 up tomorrow when we grocery shop.

Ugh.
I so desperately need those Graeters I haven't tried.
GNO when are you hitting Port Huron next?

Buckeye & Cheese crown
Black raspberry is SOLID (very overlooked). If you love cookies and cream. They have halved oreos .. For example

I was blown away by how simple, yet delicious black raspberry was. I should have taken pics, but I got two HUGE chocolate chunks in mine (along with a lot of smaller ones) which isn't uncommon for Graeters.

Just back from the US,
Another fail trying to find Graeters Buckeye...

I did grab another BR choc. Chip,
And 2 other Graeters I haven't had

Grabbed 2 BnJ pints I haven't had, Jana picked up the peanut butter cookie core to try out

And some Edy's because I like a lower cal option around, grabbed Misisipi Mud Pie and the Butterfinger

CnC or Cheesecrown hopefully!

The oatmeal cookie Talenti was on blowout, it was weird, no other Talenti on sale, not near expiry

I remember now!
If thats like BnJ cinnamon bun I will be very happy.

Going down Sunday

Just polished off my Buckeye :)

Tried a few bites of the Cheese Crown as well -- very good and unique. But Buckeye has my heart right now lol
