Someone please help.

I have this weird craving to try mutant mass. I always thought Weight gainers were just straight stupid - but this one seems okay. There's like 108 scoops in 15lbs for 80$ (I'll probably buy it on sale. Each scoop has 15g of sustain release protein and 45g of carbs from waxy maize and other stuff.

Considering most sustain release protein is like 54 servings of 22-24g of protein for 60+$ I am starting to think this weight gainer may be a good option during a bulk. Am I high? Is this a mid life crisis? Someone help?!?!! What could be next. I might start falling for BCAAs ( I will note that the weight gainer also says it has more glutamine and BCAAs and seems like it would be great pre/intra/post workout.

Gainers are great for convenience. Most think they're a waste of money since you can easily make your own with protein powder and cal-dense foods. It's up to you. If you want to use it, go for it. Your overall cals/macros will determine your gains, not the gainer. However you need to reach that surplus, whether with a gainer or without, go for it.

still would make my own gainer if I wanted one.

Hmm - the one I'm looking at just seems pretty decent. And drinking oats just kind of sucks at times lol :p
Get your blender, measure out your milk/water, then dump in the oats and let them sit. It lets them soften up and will mix and grind a little more easily.

I use quick oats- so its not that bad really. Its just more so the consistency - but aside from that - 108 sccops of 15g of sustained protein along with 41g of carbs - and additional BCAAs+Glutamine seems like a bargain.

Call me simple, but a little elaboration? Confused on what you mean...

Overnight oats are basically, dry oats + protein powder + milk sat in the fridge overnight.

You can add several different additives to enhance flavor (sugar free fat free jello mix, syrups, fruit, etc).

What do you put in your shakes batman?

Don't do shakes really.

Suspicious - PES rep doesn't do shakes...must be a baker.

Dieting. Plus I enjoy my calories from whole food.

And yes, I would rather bake with powder. I will do shakes or make sludge when I am on the road or on the go sometimes.

Sounds legit man. Ima have to try that sometime

Btw, have you tried pudding? It's fantastic. Several different ways to make it, but i like working with what i have. Greek yogurt and powder is awesome.

I've tried it all.

Yah I've been a bit lazy on the cooking front lately. Maybe that's where this urge is coming from. I'm just a whore for good value. Like I am eyeing this Preworkout. Has a non-prop label - 120 servings, has creatine, beta-alanine, 800mg of pump ingredients, and stims to boot - for like 40$. Insane imo - can't wait to try it.

Check out Mass Gainz. Carbs sources are oats and quinoa, fats are pure MCT's, and the flavoring is amazing.

Why not blend or process the oats into powder if the consistency is an issue?

I second this. I use powdered oats from myprotein and it's no different than drinking a shake. Maybe a little thicker. So like a casein shake. No chunks or anything.

If I had to use a gainer, this would be it. I've used two pouches of this stuff, tasty and helps me get calories in when I'm busy.

What do you think I am - some sort of miller?
But in all seriousness, would this work? Cause when use a blender the oats just come oat sludge at the bottom of my shake.

It helps, but the oats are still going to sink to the bottom.

Seriously, I have used these before and it makes the shake so thick and f****** amazing.

Blend up rice cakes
Buy some Gerber Oatmeal Cereal (they have different flavors)
Add water or milk
Shake, and enjoy.

The Gerber Oatmeal Cereal makes the shack so damn thick!

Damn you got really excited there lol - maybe I'll have to try it out :p ;)

The Gerber Oatmeal Cereal is in the baby formula asle. You may get some weird looks, but believe me.

I was doing Snickerdoodle + Gerber Apple Cinnamon + crushed/blended apple cinnamon rice cakes
or
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup + Gerber Banana + crushed/blended chocolate rice cakes

Obvioulsy add milk, honey, peanut butter, etc for extra calories.

Oats, Smart Balance Peanut Butter, banana, PES Select, yogurt and breast milk. Bam! Perfect gainer.

Coffee grinder. Pregrind, pour into shaker, add protein, water, shake, drink.

I don't waste the time anymore. I just scoop the oats right into the shaker bottle.

Food is for nutrition - not pleasure. Just me...
