Same age. And our totals are about the same. I guess that makes us brothers or something.

And lol I'll compete eventually...maybe in a few years.

Wish I had gotten into lifting like this when I was your age.

Lol maybe we are . I hear ya, after this comp im gonna take a little time off from competing. Glad i got my feet wet with these ones though, the experience will pay off hopefully.

Thoughts:

475 moved well. 505 was a bit slow, but I'll take it. I need to open up harder or something because I'm running into myself in the hole. If you notice on both 475 and 505 I bump myself and it's causing my hips to shoot back a little bit. That's why 505 slowed down. Oh well, something to work on. Down sets were a bîtch.

Comments and critiques welcomed, as always.

Bench and upper accessory tonight.

Stay strong AM.

...oh, here's the clips.

505.... heck ya man.

I don't see what you mean by bumping into yourself.

No. Hamstrings/knee sleeves running into calves/opposite end of knee sleeve.

And thanks! Wish it would've moved faster though

Knees drifting forward? That's what happens to me when the weight gets heavy. And then everything runs into each other and blocks depth or makes my ass shoot.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Thanks for making it clearer.

Glad I'm not the only one. Tips to avoid this? / What do I need to strengthen?

Hamstrings, usually. If you don't have the hammies to allow you to keep sitting back, the knees drift.

Sounds good. I think part of it is technical. Meaning I need to think about sitting back a touch more. But yeah, I do need to bring up my hammies. That's one muscle I'll be working on next training cycle.

Can you simultaneously flex your quads and hammies during recreational leg time?

My bench technique sucks. I cannot for the life of me figure out what to do. Everyone post their favorite bench videos in here, please. I wanna start from scratch.

Long ass day. 12 hours. Dead.

Arms in the morning.

Stay strong AM.

Get a good close 3/4 angle bench vid and we'll see what's up. How long have you been back benching since you took time off and how long did you take off?

I'll get video on Friday.

And this is my second week back after taking six weeks off. I've never been content with my technique though.

I like Juggernaut's Bench Press 101, Dan Green's Bench press tutorial, So you think you can bench, and there's one by Greg Nuckols about not tucking too much on your bench. You'll find that there's a lot that they agree on, but in places they differ, you'll have to cherry pick which direction you want to go. My advice is lean toward a closer grip for your bench, get a big arch, and touch at your sternum. The rest will be up to how you want to play it.

Nice squat dude. Yeah I get that knee bump to, funny I just posted about that on herders log. I probably do need to train the hams more.

Beastmode! Killer man. You have a beautiful looking squat. I'd **** me if I were that squat.

Thanks, you two. All videos I've seen before, but sometimes a refresher is all you need.

For bench set up I started with so you think you can bench.

But I have very individual ways to set up for bench. I should make a video of it probably as it has helped a good amount of lifters. I can explain if you'd want
