Sean's Powerlifting Journey

When I was a starter apprentice I was wrenching on something towards my face and it slipped off and busted myself in the eye/cheek 3 years later I was telling someone the story and did the exact same thing again while telling it to him talk about stupid

Can't believe you couldn't tolerate the thumb pain for a 20th set.

That's a heavy *** row. What is it that Duffin is doing on them?

There's videos of him doing 585. That means you know he's attempted 600+ a few times.

If I'm lucky that'll be my DL max in a couple years...

him and his 500lb rows lol

I start below my knees and pull into my gut

full body of course

Oh, full body, of course. Him stopping 585# 1" shy of the ground is like bridge cable erectors.

Tight and slow today. Oh well.

I need something like a Texas squat bar. My gym's flimsy bars jump around on my back like no other.

Good session too. 500+ for reps on a "bad" day...

Looked to move pretty good man.

Just started to overshoot my bar speed is all. Thanks man.

It's pretty awesome, man. The knurling became painful by the time the pause squats were done. I lost my callus's on my back the last few weeks.

Just felt off. Going from Buffalo Bar to Front Squat to Squat Bar. Tinkered around with foot angle and bar position/back engagement during the pause squats and things started to click again.

How can you tell what each bar is?

Each of the Texas bars have a different knurling pattern and say what they are on them as well.

In your guys opinion, is it worth spending the $ on expensive bars for home rigs, or just get a cheapy.
Now I'm not as experienced as some of you, so I may not even notice some of the smaller differences just yet.
Thoughts?

I'd get a good Texas power bar as an all around bar.

Looking good in here bud! I started some heavy lifting again. I hadn't done any maxes in over six months with my comp training going on. Front squatted 365x2 and pulled 545 for a really easy single.

95% sure my SBD sleeves and Rheband warm pants were stolen from my gym when I front squatted last week. I'd say it's my fault for leaving them there but I won't. People shouldn't be dirty fûcking assshole's and take what's not theirs. $160 down the drain. At least I still have my older Rhebands that are cutoff.

As awesome as my gym and the people are.... there's some newer guys and a nighttime crowd that I don't trust.

Edit:
This also makes me think of competing wrapless, pending if my record remains unbroken. Doubtful.

Dude that blows. People suck sometimes. It always amazes me what they'll just take! :(

That sucks, man. I don't trust anyone. My stuff is always under lock and key or I keep it right next to me while I'm training. If I move, it moves with me.

I seriously don't understand how anyone competes in wraps. Much worse than the pain of the wraps, or the PITA of rolling them up then cranking them on before fighting them off, is the timing of them for an attempt. You have to spend all your gas wrapping or get someone you hope will deliver what you want, and time it perfectly when you're called or risk timing out (or sitting with your legs about to pop off if you're done early). I pull my sleeves on in warmups and that's it. No pain, no stress, just walk up and get under the bar.

Man, I thought someone stole my PWO out of my bag a few weeks ago. I was unbelievably upset. Then I found it in another bag. Lol

Hopefully your experience will mirror this.
