Dmax's pursuit for power & performance

Forgot to add watched this tank of a kid squat 405×5 to depth then proceed to do 500×3 no wraps or sleeves or belt talked to him afterwards said he's done 500×7 and 600×1 a bit high this kid is beast super nice guy too

It's amazing how many strong lifters there are, and how small of a difference there are between the ones that are beloved in powerlifting and the ones that are hardly known.

Just getting a little philosophical like CincyKiller45 likes

I can't hang with u two and your intellectual speak I'm just a none learned union steamfitter lol

My grandfather was a steamfitter in New York City for 40+ years and he is the most philosophical bro I know(srs). Granted much of the wisdom came with age and your like 24 sooooooo....

Yep, comes down to your powers of self-promotion and who you know more than anything. Some people try to be discovered, other's don't, still others don't know there is such a thing. I'm glad I came up when I did, with less information and no fitness culture on social media.

Though getting critiqued on here did put about 120lbs on my total in four months, so it's not all bad.

Definitely getting constructive criticism is huge. If you don't know something how do you fix it?(rhetorical)

It is crazy though. But I agree completely, some people must just have it, and others don't or don't really care. They just want to lift. I see that all of us that go to a "hardcore" powerlifting gym have stories of dudes with incredible feats of strength.

Try 33
This kid was actually at my crappy box gym but he comes to the other one from time to time. When it talked to him about competing he's didn't seem interested

There are times I wish I knew of powerlifting before all the FB crap and articles some of it is helpful but u have to sort through a lot to find a gold nugget let alone if it applies to you. I could also do without all the fighting and you stole this idea or your breaking the rules that I see

I just want to lift and in turn get stronger I wish it were just that easy

You don't type a day over 25 DMax

And you got that right on the articles, and it is always evolving. I remember when I started literally like 2 years on powerlifting everyone was learning to squat and bench from eliteFTS. Then the raw guys started pointing out the flaws of doing geared lifting styles raw almost to the point of bashing. Now it has leveled out more to we respect each other, we are just different. I can't imagine the change for the vets if this is 2 years! Haha

Ok stupid bb questions from the Stan/mark bell video he said the he doesn't like wide grip pull ups is that saying they are ineffective or do they serve a purpose say more for the upper back?

I was just wondering cause wide grip is my worse one so if there is no real reason to them I'd just assumed do one I could get more reps in with

Yes, an overly wide grip is useless. Sean, you're not talking out of your ass. Be sure, to mix up the grips (pronated, supinated, neutral) though.

Then a friend of mine s showed up and that's the reason for the rest of the day went the way it did

Abs we did a lot of stuff to much to mention at least 6 different exercises

Don't normally do cardio but he talked me into it lol

That's it thanks for reading

No rest after PAs to bench? That would wear me down quick. I like fun stuff like that tho

Dmax, how often does Jayson say motha sucka in real life??

I see him comment on people's stuff on fb all the time. So what you're saying is that he doesn't say exactly that lol.

Good stuff brudda

Sometimes it is nice having someone push you outside your comfort zone

He's a strong hafe ass presser seen I'm press 275 for 10 with elbows flared straight out he wonders why his shoulders hurt every now and again

good work man, with pull ups everyone is worse with wide grip. most people can do a ton more chin-ups / neutral grip pull ups then regular or wide grip pull ups. i just rotate them all thru. regular pull ups take some practice though. a lot different feel then chins/neutral grip thats for sure.

Thanks capo
I'd like to see sets of 10 sometime in the future

Abs an pecs are pretty sore this morning

Enjoyed my rep bench work yesterday gave me a chance to tell when I was doing it right and when I was bbing the moment

So I like how darkside Strength posted this video of a guy squatting with some hip tightness they show his restrictions then cut away come back ask him how many stretchs he did which was none show his improvements then give u nothing else wtf

Sooooo split squat holds are pretty freaking hard.

Inb4 you and Sean hold them while eating a bowl of cereal

I'll give it a shot

Doubles today on squat and deadlift
Then take Wes out to lunch for doing good at the meet (original pancake house)

Side note notice my slingshot knee sleeves are separating in the back not to happy about that

Are the knee sleeves old? Either way, might be worth taking to a seamstress. Could be a cheap fix.

Legs getting too swole for dem seams?

It's the back seam so not sure wtf wonder if I contacted them if I could get new

I'd contact just for the heck of it (I hope they would if they are pretty new).

Notes
Couple of pr's on squat today I'm pretty please 480's moved really well and 540 was better then my 530 Jayson taped it so I'll post it up when he does

First time pulling against bands ever on deadlift think I put up some good first numbers guess we are going to do a 4 to 6 week cycle of bands so I'm excited about that

So after all that the big question was from Jayson, Wes and Joe was "when is your next meet" said not sure maybe if I get my bench straighten out lol

That's it thanks for reading

Damn dude! Killing it!

Edit: dude at my gym who was competing at the Arnold tore a quad muscle during squats and bombed. Makes sense why I didn't see anything on the gram or anything.
