Because I am old :) I assume "my fitness pal" is some sorta app for a smart phone? I have a very old cell phone and don't do the app thing. And as part of my old career I spent a lot of time creating excel spreadsheets so its quick and easy for me.

watch the romain lettuce when your first dropping into ketosis. opt for ice beard until your been in keto for a day or two.
Didnt know that but ive been LC for years now so this is far from my first few days of a LC diet. I don't care about being keto just insulin management.
I eat a whole heart of romaine or about 12-15 leafs. Lol

I also like romaine better and it doesn't waste as much space in my fridge since I only have a mini fridge because I leave by myself and don't see a reason for a full size fridge.

21g carbs
13g fiber
7g sugar
That's perfect for LC or keto and under 10g useable carbs plus it's high fiber and ate with fats so I don't see if causing a single issue and it never has before.

Glad this was brought up because I didn't log/track my veggies yesterday and I got 20-25g protien and 20-25g of useable carbs. With that in the equation I pretty much hit my 2800-3000 cal goal.
 
I've never tracked greens for nutritional value. My first coach didn't have me count em and it just stuck.

I also don't count protein from any source that isn't animal derived. Just my personal choices.

I never have either and if the romaine wouldn't of got brought up I never would've.
I use veggies as a filler and that's it.
Even without the veggie cals added in im still happy with my intake and glad to know I haven't been under eating like most do on a LC diet.

Well then I was under ate yesterday because I've never tracked veggies either. At least not the ones that aren't starchy/carby.
 
PX White is the real deal.
I've had to remove all jackets and then I still sweated right threw my shirt and coveralls.
Definitely have a case of swamp ass this evening.
All it took was me having to pick up a few HEAVY gear boxes and then the sweat just started pouring out of me.
Appetite is nonexistent and that works great for my long fasts between all my meals.

The way I'm feeling right now will get me out in the gym to do more cardio and bi/tri work. Guess you could call today a BRO day instead of a rest day.

Looking forward to my Friday morning weigh in. I was 210 on Monday and I bet I'll be 195-200 by Friday.

yep only really a concern for those who cycle the ketosis. as in body opus or UD2.0 the first few days you would only want to consume trace carbs, and as you see now there are far more than trace in romain and some other veggies. this is how you drop into keto in about 48-54 hrs. thus enjoying the benefits of keto fat loss, while staying anabolic and not turning catabolic.
 
I must be the anal one because I track everything. I think it has more to do with its just easier for me to track that way. But, I've done it this way for years.

Not just you .... I track everything also ..... even the 2 tablespoons of ketchup I put on things. I use an excel spreadsheet I setup for myself a year or so ago so at this point I have over 12 months of nutrient intake data. A little anal .... yes but I like knowing exactly what I put into my body so I can fine tune everything as needed to reach each goal I set. ;)

And I track the near-calorie-less items as well .... including the chopped romain lettuce I ate last night ... 2 cups chopped only about 20 kCal but I track it nonetheless .... had a nice bowl of 1 cup brown rice, 8 oz lean ground beef , 1/2 cup black beans and 2 cups lettuce ..... taco salad sorta thing. Yummy ;)
 
Since I eat the same over and over tracking would be pointless for me.
What I eat Monday is what I eat all week.
I do keep count of my fats because that's to easy for me to overeat.
 
Have plenty of energy and time so I'll be doing some more cardio and a nice BRO session after.
Gotta start looking like I lift more than a fork to my face. Lol

Even a whole head is only 7g useable carbs and that's not enough to do anything especially when it's so high fiber plus the fats I add only increase the digestion time making it a nonissue.

if you are carbing up every week then yes you are concerned with what im talking about, of course that's saying your concerned with getting the optimal or maximum fat loss for your efforts.
just so we are not arguing... my intentions here are to help. im not saying what you are doing is wrong by any means. keto diets and the like have broad applications and methods. if you are looking to maximize your fat loss while maintaining the maximum amount of muscle, I recommend you read body opus.

using its methods you will learn (**with practice**) how to reach ketosis in just about 2 days, allowing you to be in ketosis for 2 full days + a half. thus you get to reap the rewards of a low carb diet with out going catabolic.

carbing up for a couple of days allows you to use insulin sensitivity you've earned all week to your advantage, super compensating glycogen stores for strength training on the first two days of your decent back into ketosis for the week. this makes for basically 5 days low carb and 2 days of strict carb intake.

you can actually put mass on while stripping fat if you get good at it and can deal with its perimeters.

I see your points and yeah if your not a sugar burner you could get back to ketosis that quick if not quicker. I have no way to measure it so I really don't worry about it.
I eat less than 30g usable carbs, never more than 10g at a single time, and ketosis isn't my goal. If ketosis happens it happens if not it really won't effect my week. Plus all my meals are after some kind of workout.Lol
I only carb up for 8-10hrs and usually put on 15lbs of stored glycogen and water.
I've been able to recomp on this way of eating and I don't plan to drop below 200 during these 60 days so I'm hoping for a little recomp muscle memory action to happen because I've been leaner and carried more mass in the past.

I'm all open for ideas but its to late for me to get different lettuce. ;)

A quick little about me.
I've probably done every diet out there and never mastered any of them but I was able to go from 330+ pounds to a lean with abs and all jive at 191 so dieting is one thing I'm always interested in learning more about.

It's nice looking forward to a taxing day at work. For 1 I enjoy what I do, I work for myself, and in my mind a taxing day is just like getting paid to workout.

Even though my PM session is 10hrs away I'm stoked to have squats planned and might end up hitting bench or a bro session after.

If you're able to judge how the stack is affecting body comp then yes that's ok.

I'd just be dosing both like I was taking 12 caps of CLA/ALC.
Figured I'd save 40 and use up what I have on hand instead of buying 2 more bottles.

I really like grilling all my red or fatty meats and right now I'm not in a grilling mood

I like lean meats because it allows me to have full control over fat content and source of a meal.
The Ground turkey takes whatever flavor you add to it very well, and who doesn't like over buttered veggies.
I was on a loaded up with bacon and stuff kick last year but I eat so much bacon it's More expensive than turkey by a long shot.

Yesterday evenings workout was a killer one.
Started with 30min LISS to warm up and with PX White in my system getting warm takes no time at all.
So many sets and reps of squats with razor sharp focus and drive like no other.
Sweat was so heavy I had to chalk up to have good grip on my SSB and to be able to do more than 5 pullups because I was SSing squats and pull ups. Last few set of pull ups I went to failure and that's always a funny/great feeling of failure on pull ups.
 
I just gained 10lbs looking at this thread !!
