Definitely. I'm bummed I didn't get the chance to go see knot up there.. I know I'll be in Niagara second weekend of feb for sure at the casino.
 
Stayed in rochester last night. Didn't feelike driving. Just got to rome. Time to shower and get ready for work

Funny you mention that; saw a pic of myself when I was younger pre-weightlifting and I cannot believe how much my shoulder girdle has changed. I had the same giraffe neck for sure.

When you get under that bar, KNOW you will squat that weight. Take a huge breath into your belly, driving it down and out to expand your core against your belt. Grip the hell out of the bar and do a mighty pulldown to lock the bar into your back. It all starts with the unrack. If you can have your core like iron and the bar stable as hell glued to your back as your grip is crushing it, the weight feels 900x lighter. And you'll be so much more powerful from the stability. Practice this every set leading up to the attempt, not just when it gets heavy. Get it right, and the bar feels like feathers by comparison.

Don't be a p#ssy, and never stop driving - you CAN & WILL move it!!!!
 
And take LONG rests leading up to it, with super low volume. This should take a while, and it should bore you to tears. Use this time to focus on what you're about to do - the anticipation & single-mindedness of the process is fuel to conquer the one thing you came for.

After victory, do some back off work and resume your regular routine & pace so you can still get your volume on.
 
Got in to the gym. All 3 racks were blocked. Walked up to the hot chick doing dead squats and asked if she would move over. She was all about it. GAME FCKING ON!

Super excited about the squat today. 405 went out of the hole easy as pie for the first two.
 
Changed the split up. Modified phat for 4 days a week. Today was power upper.

Flat bb bench 2x5 1x3.

Low to high cable fly 3x6

Pulldowns 3x5

Rows. 2x5 1x3

Side laterals 3x6

Face pulls 3x8

Ez curls 3x5

Skulls 3x6

Weights were stupid.
 
Holy sh*t. Norton's not phucking around when he calls it the power day. I've never done those rep ranges for every exercise you've listed after bench. I've never looked into the program. 2 power & 2 hyper days/wk, right?

It's two and 3 that's how it's modified. And we kept the reps lower for power day and they're normal to high for hypertophy.

Feel you on this... sh1t never stops... at least we can turn to the weights (seems to be the only reliable thing these days)

I hear ya both on this one. I have been going through the worst time in my life and enduring a level of crap that most people would not be able to handle (trust me on this ... the few people I have told think its like a bad movie and never believed this kinda thing actually happens in real life) .... if not for the iron therapy I would have surely lost it by now. I look forward to every cathartic workout session ..... helps to kill the demons and live to fight another day ....

Never ends. Sadly the gym didn't help much today.
 
Hate to hear life is kicking that ass. Keep the head up and get on through it you know how to soldier through hard times and come out stronger in the end!

Trying man. Stuffs getting bad though. Momma's got cancer again. Her options are her 14th surgery in 10 years to remove one lung and pieces of the other or... She's not doing another surgery. There's so much more icing on the cake but that's the straw that broke my back.
