Ferguson's in an uproar. You stayin in the house all night?
That's a good half an hour from here - I ain't skeered!
And now, from a Saint Louis native to everyone not from here, believing who-knows-what the media is pumping you guys all over the nation:
In Ferguson and a couple surrounding areas of STL, rioters burned a bunch of cars, 16 businesses, and lots of gunfire. 61 arrests in Ferguson last night, and only 9 were residents of Ferguson. 20-something additional arrests in STL in general. An old man at a stoplight was drug from his car and beat to death with his oxygen tank and the killers took off in his car. Just a bunch of ridiculous acts of violence, arson, theft, & murder - tell me, do these people sound like they have God in their lives?
Think of all the peaceful protesters they're overshadowing, who just have strong opinions they want shared. Think of all the damage to the community and the local economy - Ferguson's economy, all the jobs lost, the massive impact on the real estate there. Nobody will want to stay, and nobody will be able to afford to move. Think of how these disgraceful actions will drag down the thousands of respectable black people in the STL area, although they had nothing to do with it.
My gf teaches choir in the Hazelwood school district, and her middleschoolers couldn't go to school today. She said the little ones are scared for their homes and their families; that they can't go out really because the rioting is so close to their neighborhoods.
Mike Brown strong-arm stole a cigar from a business and when approached by a cop shortly after Brown fought him into his car. There was a struggle for the gun, the forensics have shown shots were fired in the car (multiple!) and Mike brown beat the crap out of that officer before that officer blew him away. The officer's whole eye & side of face were swoll shut; it was not a pleasant struggle, and certainly not a walk-up senseless execution. When you steal, you don't deserve to die. When you run from the law, you don't deserve to die. When you assault an officer, you just f*cked with the law and it's self-defense, punk. If you didn't want to get shot you shouldn't have tried to take a cops gun as you beat him.
