PES High Volume

3rd day using HV/alphamine. Supposed to be an off day but heading in for a rare biceps only workout. Da pump!

I always do an arms workout first when I try a new pump product. Something about it :)

I was a fan of the former Athletix High Volume product but PES definitely brought it to the next level. The new High Volume is the first non-stim pre-workout drink that makes me believe there's life after Craze. Coming from a avid Craze fan, that's high praise. Yes, I realize High Volume has a completely different MOA than Craze.

I ordered 3 of the Paradise Coolers during the Insider deal. After opening the first tub, I think "bricked" is a more accurate description as opposed to "clumped" LOL. That said, it's easy enough to break apart and once in water it dissolves readily. My first inclination was to take advantage of the trade in offer, but after seeing how easily it dissolved I didn't see any point. I'll order a few of the Blue Frost for good measure!

Taste

Blue Frost → Very similar to that of Amno IV, but this has a stronger bluberry overall taste. Literally like you went to a farm, picked up fresh blueberries, and then made your own compote at your house and drank it. Absolutely spot on flavoring.
Paradise Cooler -→ This was a bit different. It was kind of like a mango and an orange mixed together to make some kind of a tropical flavor. This was very unique; if you are a fan of something different to hit your taste buds this may be the flavor for you. I would have to say its hard to pin point exactly what it is but could be like a mango/pineapple/orange mixture. Very unique.

Mixability

I have never had one problem with PES and mixing their products the high volume continues to trend. If it was 8oz, 10oz, 12oz it made no different. The powder was starting to dissolve upon touching the water which is always a very positive sign.

This is where High Volume shines. A very large dose of Citrulline which aids in lactic acid build up during training and also helps increase pump

Arginine Nitrate which is a nitrate that helps reduce nitrate build up / intolerance. Not to mention nitrates are king of pumps!
Agmatine is also a great agent building for pumps, which can also aid nutrient portioning (kind of like a GDA) so it's a double edge sword that is beneficial. Not to mention it has shown an increase in LBM and decrase in bodyfat.
Glycerol is another huge pump agent that is very common in the market , again stacked with Cit Mal + Nitrates = a serious mixture of pump. It helps draw water into the cells to aid cell volume and enhance Nitric Oxide release.
AmentoMax or Amentoflavone can be 20x more effective than caffeine for calcium release and aid as a strength maxamizer. It helps improve bloodflow and alertness.

Cost

Insider was 20$ for 18 servings. But in reality it is dosed to well you may not even need 2 full servings to get the true benefits of the product. Especially if you are going to stack HV with another pump product on the market that may overlap some ingredients to aid the pump found in stimulants. Overall a very good formula, a very well respected brand, and a great tasting product. PES continues to sell its products at a great price and give the consumers a great formula to boot!

Insider has been out for a bit now, so i wanted to use it a few times before i wrote a review to see how i respond to different amounts , fasted training, fed training etc.. and see the difference in pump, vascularity, and also how i respond to the product to provide a 100% honest feedback.

not a one sip and one scoop review that would not be completly honest or to the point ya know?

He said High Volume is "one of the best".

One of?!

Find me anything else with such a high nitrate, citrulline and agmatine dose and I will forgive this misgiving. ;)

I could taste more Blue Frost as well but still the two combined was very tasty I thought. Don't know how to describe it though.

Not everyone will enjoy HV as much as the next. As you have seen on other forums some people did not react well to it, and did not enjoy it as much as others on the market. One product will not be the superior product to the others out there. While the formula I agree is top notch it does not make it one of the clear cut best on the market for a non-stim pre-workout. Some people may react differently or better to another product out there.
You know i love PES but Select for example is a top notch Protein powder, but it does not mean its the best out there, same could be said with the rest of your line and products. While I PERSONALLY love them, some people may not.. but again that is personal preference.
 
In regards to evidence/research based ingredients and the doses in High Volume, it surely is one of the best/if not the best non-stim products on the market.

While i agree that the ingredient and doses are on point, still other peoples opinions on how they react to the product may vary.
I have seen a few on other boards as well on how they take 2 scoops and do not notice much.

Just happens ya know?

Well i am yet to see something as good as HV so far. Im sure it could of been even better but that would cost more. which not everyone would like, I would happily pay more for an even more crazy profile than it already is. i.e TMG, LCLT, CDP Citicoline, nootropics, and more.. because it would only help save me from needing to go fetch them for myself to add to it or maybe even more unheard of agents or novel ingredients would have been cool also. but i can see how the current profile, appeals to the average gym rats, and consumers, while also catering to the hardcore fans to :) while still being able to make a profit so im happy with that.

Lol if they don't get pumps from 2 scoops on this then there really isn't anything that will help them (and something is prob off training or nutritionally).

Maybe I'm being blunt, but pretty much every other pump product will just contain some of the ingredients in here and none at the doses and combination of all in High Volume.

In the end if you don't get a pump from a citrulline, nitrate, glycerol, agmatine combo at huge doses then pump products probably just aren't your thing.
 
also if there a really high bodyfat that would make it harder to achieve a satisfying pump to. it comes down to the individual in some cases

For sure.

And we can all agree everyone will respond differently, but like bolt said, they don't feel at least a pump from High Volume with the doses it is at, they may as well give up on pump products.
