MEADOWS periworkout Supplement/nutrition protocol

Good Lord is Bob stubborn about this. The entire thread disagrees with him and he still can't admit that he was incorrect. Again, they're both designed for the same purpose and are similar in nature. NOT IDENTICAL, BUT SIMILAR!!
 
for the record, m5 is listed on the cellucor web site as a preworkout....not intra, even if the instructions say you can drink it intra...not sure how someone could think it's similar to this, the ingredients aren't really even close...don't be silly guys

Read the write up and try and convince anyone they're not marketing it as an intra also, please
 
I didnt read anywhere, where it says pre workout. Everything says "take anytime" or pre,during or post. I'm not segueing one or the other Idc but the write up isnt to specific.

convince? who needs convincing, they have it placed on their own site under preworkout....just because they say you can take it anytime....that means they are marketing it towards intraworkout?

A lot of things, plenty of Plazma and Mag-10 though :P Ran out of HMB-FA though. Getting ready to taper/deload/recovery week/whatever one wishes to call it. Harsh on recovery without that HMB, I might go try HMB-Ca to save a few bucks. Dose it 120 minutes before a workout to compensate for the difference in peak level rate relative to what FA is.

same here, no plazma just too much intra stuff in my stash to go through before i get more....gives me time to hear reviews, interested in gym juice as well

I think when you have an ample amount of carbs and basically just carbs as the main star of the formula... that sort of kind of implies that it's also a intra product. I mean, when else would you use fancy designer carbs? Post is a waste because you can just eat. Pre makes sense because then you have some fuel to run on, intra makes sense to keep the level of fuel sufficient.

i agree but ppl are assuming it's intra and then blaming marketing, their site clearly doesn't market it in this way....pretty much just playing devils advocate because ppl cry marketing, however in the write up from their site i was told to read doesn't mention it being intraworkout

creatine nitrate i would think would be clearly benefical if dosed pre workout...never tried nitrates intraworkout though
 
^^ I agree with the CN, however if I make a product that contains HBCD, Caffeine and Aminos and market it as an intra, then someone makes the exact same product but adds Betaine and says to use it to build muscle, burn fat, feed your family, pre-workout etc does that make it not an intra workout?

but thats not what happens here.....a better comparison in the two products being talked about, is if you included agmatine in a preworkout and marketed as a preworkout and i put agmatine in a sleep formula, it doesnt' make it a preworkout product....in this case hbcd is really the only overlapping ingredient and could be used both ways....doesn't mean the user has to use it the way it's being sold as but to say it's being marketed one way when it's not is what i was pointing out

I'm just going by marketing and using examples of similar products but marketed for different purposes LOL.

It wasn't in relation to the overall argument, but just on the one about "well its not how its marketed" :D

For example, in NZ we have paracetamol that is targeted for head pain, one that is targeted for menstrual pain, one for back pain etc despite containing all the same actives. Marketed for differing reasons despite being almost entirely the same. That's just my take on this

LoL, I like how they've wasted the time and resources to relabel a pain killer so that they can put it in different sections of a store shelf :P

Bad marketing bro, should have just slapped all the various pains it deals with and pretend that it's a miracle pain killer.

Exactly. Its a marketing technique to get you to use their product more often or as alternative strategies. Not everyone will buy an intra product, but if you market it as a pre / post workout, you have 2 extra markets you can dominate.
 
So, round and round we go, peri nutrition good, bad, does something, does nothing, round and round we keep going, lol:

you may have been thinking about the older M5 which was the 2 in 1 pre workout that had a stimulant... Then the reformulated it into a nonstim intra carb/creatine product
 
To honestly evaluate this I would think doing to following would be a solid approach:

1. Follow you existing nutrition plan for 8 weeks and record the results(or use your already recorded results if you have them.)

2. Keep your nutrition from #1 and dd the intra drink at whatever serving amount you should use based on your body size and the roughly 60/g/CHO/Hour research. Follow for 8 weeks record results.

3. Take the amount of CHO and EAA consumed above and add them to your nutrition routine you followed in #1 but consume them pre and post as opposed to intra. Follow for 8 weeks and record results.

This would determine if the time of consumption vs overall consumption makes a difference. Obviously adding EAA's and CHO to one's intake will improve results to a point but the argument seems to be that as long as you train in a well fed state and consume an adequate amount post workout that consuming during training will make no difference. Doing the above should allow you to honestly evaluate the difference.
