What is your favorite cheat meal?

Well, tbh they have a wide assortment of foods that I find not bad to eat. I didn't think it would be that easy to screw up something as simple as french toast or a brownie lol. The other foods are more complex.
Taco bells lunch or regular selection taste at least edible to me, but their breakfast menu is barf city.

I really like hole in the walls, but you know what? My whole area is totally horrible these days from the past 4 years. All food quality is down, price is up. My list of crap is piling up real fast. I've crossed out a list of over a dozen places that went from real good to real crappy.

Better off making your own french toast or brownies next time. Even if you keep them somewhat clean, healthy, etc. you might still fill that craving. Or go to a bakery, they usually have good selections.

Overall this is a good pickup for a limited edition flavor if you are a die-hard Peanut Butter and Jelly lover or have a massive craving. The base is good, but as stated the Jelly overpowers the peanut butter alone (I sampled before I got my pint to give it a fair test before the mix-ins were added). The additional peanut butter and Jelly basically turn into swirls once the workers mix everything together with the PB & J Base which is a great compliment similar to PB Jam Session and Wegmans PB & J. The Graham Cracker Pie Crust is what really aids this creation giving it a nice crunch and after taste which goes very well with the PB & J. Between B&J and Wegmans i would place this one second on my list of favorites. Ben & Jerry's I found to be very similar besides a straight PB Base with similar Jelly swirl/flavoring, and Wegmans bringing home the #1 spot with not only a denser/richer Peanut Butter flavor in the base, but also stronger and sweeter Jelly Swirls. The Graham Cracker Pie Crust is what gives this the edge over Ben and Jerry's.

I'm sure I can make wayyy better. It was because cheat meals are today and grocery store shopping is tomorrow..not convenient. But next time! I will make some delicious foods :D

I have a load of errands to run to be bothered with cooking tomorrow, in which I'll be out most of the day after a quick run to the grocery store.

Love the ideas, Crepes are easy to make healthy too, if i was going to do them as a cheat they would be cookie butter stuffed and topped with honey/banana or something along those lines with a homemade compote.

Burrito could be something for the future for sure.

love the cheat crepe idea would love to see u do that!

Put in with hot sauce or soy sauce = easy flavoring
or cook in diet soda (serious) comes out very moist.

Q: when I cook frozen chicken I get a bunch of what looks like coagulated blood/broth floating around. I usually dump it along with the broth and fat. Is this normal? I'll take a pic next time I do it if a better explanation is needed.

Wrong person to ask. always buy fresh never frozen.

Ewwww....like Bob, I too always buy fresh. Usually I buy ground chicken breast. Easy to cook and work with.

Yes with the bagged frozen chicken...However...If you buy it fresh and cook within time you will have better results. The only frozen chicken you'll see me eat is when I buy in bulk, measure out 200 or 100 gram portion sizes and freeze them in individual bags.

Even then they have to be on sale.

Thaw them in room temperature, or in cold water for best flavors before cooking. Do NOT thaw in hot water. This can destroy natual flavors.

If you cook your frozen chicken while it's frozen you are really doing the flavors an injustice.

Just my .02.

Here's a question since were on the subject of chicken and macros. Meats that lose a lot of fat when cooking. For example microwaved bacon, burgers, etc. How do you track them? 100g raw may have 15g of fat but what if there's only 8 left after cooking? That's an extra 63kcals your counting... If you're talking about 1/2lbs of meat that adds up. If I weren't lazy, I'd weigh raw and use nutritiondata.self.com to calculate the 'cooked' macros based on the amount of protein (which isn't lost mostly).

Track exactly as labeled on package. Period.
Mine at my store comes raw and cooked

usually 4oz raw = 3oz cooked, go by the same macros.

That's the way I do it too. Some labels with have both, if not, just stick with 3 oz cooked with the 4 oz raw macros. I know Perdue puts both macros on their label.

Here is what you do, weigh raw weight just one time, then cook with desired cooking method, and then weigh again. Now you have the cooked weight of the meat. Like me i weigh my chicken cooked, because i know 4 ounces weigh 3.2oz baked.

Not at all a cheat meal, but my day to day foods. If you care to take a look here's some garlic herb chicken thighs. Fortunately for me, came out juicy enough to fall off the bone --but also cooked all the way to the bone.

Nice! I cooked some thighs myself over the weekend. I used garlic pepper seasoning, turmeric, low sodium chicken broth. Crazy juicy.

I was just in Ireland and took a tour of the Guinness storehouse. Had a "Guinness Stew" and a big old pint to wash it down. Not quite sure what was in it but it was damn good. Unfortunately, it looked the same going out as it did going in. haha.

cbsharpe: Thanks bro. How did you cook your chicken thighs ? Bake, bbq? I'm glad you're not one of those guys eating plain, unseasoned , deskinned boneless chicken breasts. How do people even do that?

Driven2lift: Nice steak, mine is cooking up today too :)

Yeah, can't do plain chicken. But I cook mine over the stove in a non-stick pan. I add some EVOO and cook them for a little bit then add some low sodium broth along with the herbs and spices.

In the winter time, the crockpot is my friend as well. Can't live without that.

Wow, this was a great idea. So I got me a single serving of protein powder at CVS and I mixed it with 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt +2 stevia. IF i had cocoa powder, I'd surely put that in to. The plain yogurt is quite sour and is more made for Indian and greek savory dishes, so that Stevia helped it.

This definitely curbed a little edge on my cutting diet! I basically made some Protein pudding. Hmm, I probably wouldn't eat this on a cheat day, but alas not bad.

Almost reached my carb limit for the day though, but I can manage still.
TheSolution: I bet you already mixed your cellucor into greek yogurt before right?

Overall the banana base is light, has a good flavor, but nothing to rave over. You get the initial burst of a banana flavor (which is not artificial or overpowering) but very smooth, milky, and creamy from first bite to last bite. The good thing is there is no added oil's due to being an All-Natural line. The peanut Butter swirl has a very dense peanut butter flavor, even if it comes apart in shards and cracks along the way it provides the good salty compliment to the sweet banana taste of the base. Peanut Butter and Banana is a perfect one two combo and compliments each other exactly as you would expect in this quart. The Sweet and Salty combination definitely hit the spot and for those who are Peanut Butter or Banana fans this is something you should consider for the limited edition pick up. Turkey Hill did a good job for a ice cream that only has 180 calories per serving.
