What do you wear to the gym?

I don't really care what I wear, but I should probably pick up some new clothes so people don't think I only own two things. Not much of a y stringer kind of guy, more just a tshirt/shorts or a hoodie. What are you guys wearing?

Usually a loose tank and some shorts (I like them soccer short length, but with pockets), with compression shorts underneath if I'm doing legs and dead socks if I'm pulling

Usually a beat up house of pain t shirt. Long shorts on upper days, shorter shorts with compression shorts on lower days. Sometimes a cap if my hair is out of control haha

This right here for me. :)

I can't pull off the short shorts, I'm too pale. I just need to suck it up and get a tan I guess. I want the shorts and y stringer collum von moger style.

No one cares about your pale thighs! Here's a guide to short shorts. I hope this changes your life.

For upper body days, baggy shorts, wife beater, and a tee shirt. I usually take the shirt off once I get moving. For lower, same thing except I usually end up switching out the short for my gear.

That's a good article!

I've been wearing a cut off tee since it's been warm. Typically try to go with a little shorter/looser short for leg day so that you have good room for mobility.

Yah, when I'm not working I am wearing a bro tank. Lmao.

I have gyno, tanks are a no go :(

Unless I wear a beater underneath a stringer? I'll hit the melatonin 2 and tan up a bit. Next week I'll get the booty shorts?

Yah I'm cutting down right now.

Layers. Long sleeve shirt with a short sleeve or cutoff underneath. If I'm doing deadlifts I'll wear sweatpants with shorts underneath so my shins don't get all cut up from the bar grinding in and I can take em off to complete the workout. Not to mention if you're big long sleeve shirts will make you look like a monster

I'm on the journey for big. Haha.

usually baggy shorts, if they don't they go past the knees then they are for women

a ton of old t shirts, basketball jerseys, and sleeveless t shirts, i also have a nice collection of iforce t shirts i wear a lot....string tank tops are another no go

i'll wear UA type hoodies in the winter, but other than the shorts can't be soccer or jogger style shorts, my only other rule for the gym is, my shoes have to be black

Does anyone here own lifting shoes? I always just go barefoot on squats/deads, but the shoes might help?

Haha. Yah I'm not sure I agree with the short shorts article.. Maybe it's because I'm not massive yet.

I don't do the whole lifting shoes thing. I have a pair of Reebok zQuicks that I love.

I'm that way too. I can almost squat 5 plates, but my legs are still small :(
Lol I just want my legs to be toned up and match my upper body.

I would rather look good up top.

I've been wondering about shoes. No one at my gym that I see where's the oly lifting shoes. A couple guys wear minimus/converse chuck taylors. I've been squatting with my normal gym goers and pulling bare foot. Been thinking it may be better to squat in something different though.

hahah i don't care if i have ronnie coleman legs, i'm not wearing short shorts, sorry but it's 2014 not the 1970's anymore and i think short shorts look tacky

I have a pair of adidas power lifts 2.0. Use them for high bar squats and the heel allows me to squat deeper in the hole. For conventional dead lifts I prefer no shoes. For sumo, chucks or something similar.

I squatted in Chucks before I bought my Adidias AdiPowers. I always went a little past depth, but those shoes allow me to go even deeper. It is much easier to stay on my heels with them. Also, my feet are locked in place because they grip the ground so well. One of the best gym equipment investments I've made.

I usually wear a sweathshirt/hoodie with pants. On leg days, I wear shorts. If I get too warm, I take the long sleeves off and wear the short sleeve shirt I have underneath. I like being very warm when lifting.

I tried adipowers but unfortunately my size (7.5) is OOS everywhere. I've been squatting barefoot lately.
