summer shredden with Ironflex

Nice session!

You obv have good strength; I think your muscles would like it if you pushed them a bit more often!
I am going to take your advise and try the heavy drop sets. I unfortunately don’t have a work out partner so the intensity will be lower but I will give it a shot :)

You can def do it for deadlifts, curls, leg press, dumbbell presses etc. you might want to grab a spot to try to do it on bench squat etc, the whole set only takes like 45 sec at the most, you won't last that long on the drop sets.

One word of advice, the leg ones are brutal so make sure you're warmed up for them!

McCrew, I'm gonna get a new bed and forgot what you suggested. What's the best for a tummy sleeper?

Something firm you don't want to go too soft it will hurt your back long term. When you go to a store try it like you do at home.

I see my phone didn't refresh soon enough & caz already made a comment that most guys were thinking!

Lmao!! I'm a old man but my boy Mccrew got you covered!! Lol
Haha, I'll have to teach McCrew a few thing or two! :P

That session will smoke you!! Nice job sneaking that PR in there!! Guess your strength is kicking in? BTW I emailed you the FST7 routine :)

Great workout! I tend to only do one set per exercise after warmups with the drop sets and just go to absolute failure but that workout sounds beast too! Glad you liked it!

Hey Mystere3 how is drop set training different from 5x5 heavy weight training??? I'm a college football player and that's the routine I use for my compound lifts like squats, bench, and dead lifts and I was the strongest player on my team last season!!! Do you think it will be benifical to switch my training method??? Thanks in advance I'm not trying hijack the thread so please don't bash me!!! LoL

I felt like I could have gone heavier on the Deadlifts but I needed a belt Shoot Im sore now!!!

What?!?! You don't have one?!

5x5 is a good method too, but I prefer drop sets bc it's a faster paced workout and I can go balls to the walk if I know I'm doing only one set.

Personally though, I think a football player would benefit more from adding explosive lifts like snatches, clean/press, clean/jerk, thrusters, power cleans, potentially jump squats (be careful) as well as metabolic conditioning stuff like weighted vest training with weighted carries, prowler training, etc. that's what I felt helped me the most when I played football.
