This applies for maybe the first two weeks.

Never heard of the breath thing though. As far as I know ketones get expelled through urination mostly.

Well, I tend to agree with the latter comment but I'd say if ur above 15% BF, u have no choice but to kill carbs for quick fat loss.

PED's is essential if using carbless or low carb diets, IMO.

And those symptoms of muscle-wasting during workouts dont go away after two weeks buddy. Use PED's and eat 2g/lb of bodyweight in protein or else ur losing precious mass in the process.

the negative effects grow worse as time goes on. Carb shedding is only effective for up to 6 months if you can bare the side effects according to the USDA. The bad breath she is referring to is known as ketosis and is actually one of the most common signs of a diet with insufficient carb intake

I've been doing some low carb days the past few months...and I noticed I get colds more frequently. I know carbs are a part of strengthening the immune system. I think I will have to increase my carbs a bit plus add some cardio to compensate...

What do you consider low carb?

What do you consider low carb?

That differs from person to person and also depends on how healthy those carbs are and where in ur cutting cycle u are at.

Beginning of a cut, I dont cut any carbs but rather match carbs to protein @ 1:1.

Then improve carb selections, like abandoning refined foods, sugars, limit fruits and fructose etc.
Then get fats really low and substitute those calories with MCT.

Then I might cut carbs down to a 1.5 to 1 protein to carb ratio. So If I eat 200g protein, I'd eat 2/3 of that in carbs daily ~ 140g carbs.

Generally, I never have gone lower than 75g of carbs daily and that was only to push water off my body. For general cutting purposes, you'd never need to go lower than .5g/lb of mass in carbs and in many cases 1g/lb of mass.

But I consider "low carbs" to be less than a gram per lb of body weight, or 30% of my diet, whichever comes first.

You may not notice it, but others will. My personal observation is that it's true. And I do think carbs get too much of a bad rap.
