Follidrone log

I'm not sure about any negatives, but I posted in the All Aboard the Betaine train thread because I noticed that last night and today I all of a sudden have a flare up of rosacea and I find it odd that the only thing different is that I just started this. I wonder if there is something in it that causes inflammation because that immediately kicks in rosacea and the main reason I haven't tried ARA.

I took a good hard look at TMG and decided it was an unsafe choice. I forget why.
Inflammation may be the reason and Id be willing to say its the cause. Oh also I believe all the studies into its use as a performance enhancer were performed by people with an interest in selling it.

TMG appears to be recommended as a performance enhancing compound with quite unreliable benefits. TMG, when 1.25g is taken twice daily, has at times been linked to increased power output (only to fail in other instances) and minor increases in workout volume and endurance (a bit more reliable than power output, but still not a consensus). The overall effect size or how much it benefits the subject seen to be quite small, and at this moment in time all studies finding benefit with TMG supplementation have been associated with Danisco (DuPont Nutrition) a producer of TMG.

The benefit of TMG to physical exercise, even if assumed to be present, may have little to no practical relevance since:

Serum TMG is increased to a similar degree with 1g TMG as it is with 1g of Choline supplementation, and the latter may have some centrally acting (brain related) benefits to working out while possibly being cheaper

The theory that fits most with the observed benefits to physical performance (the osmolyte actions protecting a cell) is a mechanism not only able to be repeated with choline as mentioned earlier, but is a mechanism of action of Creatine; the lone study to evaluate the combination failed to find an additive effect of TMG on creatine's benefits.

Interesting because I just finished up a bottle of TMG but I did not experience any sides that I know of.

Did i read this right, it actually raised bad cholesterol??

Did you experience any gains?
I think I deemed it unfit not because it was toxic but because there is no evidence it works.

Yes sir you read correctly.

This is why its very important to read further into supplements.
Lots of times studies are funded by people with interests in selling the product. Basically the manufacturer pays for a study and then pays for the research to be faked. Looks like this is whats potentially happening here.

Also lots of things that look great initially will have a ton of negative sides.
ARA comes to mind again. It does appear youll gain a few lbs maybe and probably a little strength.
But it can cause cancer and a host of other diseases as well. Not exactly a good idea to eat.

Good question brundel. I'm leaning towards that it really didn't do much for me. I am willing to try it again from a different manufacturer if that makes a difference. I used the Vitamin Shoppe brand but I did not experience any sides from it.

This is the thing....if you take a supplement and cant tell if something happened...probably nothing happened :)
Id save your money for something that gives you results.

kisaj, just wanted to say thanks for the informative log. Writing these posts takes time and I'm sure I speak for many here when I say it is very much appreciated. Oh yeah and your a freakin beast, reading through your squat workouts got me so pumped to get back under the bar ...

sitting on 2 bottles of Folli myself, torn rotator cuff still needs more time to heal but I am so excited after seeing all this positive feedback.

Thanks, man. Those words are most appreciated because I really don't have any gain in this other than to offer a personal experience and maybe help someone else.

Brundel if you could only pick 5 supplements (bodybulding and general health), what would they be?

#1 Multi vitamin. Pertty much everyone needs this but guys who train hard need it especially.
#2 BCAA.
#3 Fish oil
#4 Coq10
#5 ID say an antioxidant like vit C. Keep in mind oxidation is needed for all kinds of processes including muscle development so too much antioxidant use is not good. Some is beneficial.

I take all of these daily.

Just an interesting update.

My weight is still 211, which is surprising to me, but it is what it is.

Squats today I only managed to get about 1.5 at 495. I felt weak going ATG on the second and stopped at parallel and came back. My drop set to 315 went from an all time high last week of 18 to 14 today.

Noooooooo!!!!!! :)

Lol it doesn't sound all bad... Hopefully you can keep things where they are at now.

The bad news....shortly after trial runners finished I started getting frantic calls for more product. The one guy who gained 10lbs is still 7lbs up. 2 months post. Strength and endurance Im afraid....dropped to normal. The good news.....guys will be snatching this stuff up like cupcakes because the strength and endurance is so good.

How long has it been since your last dose?

Seems like a success if your bodyweight is staying the same and lifts are not decreasing in weight.

Yeah man, I am not bothered. It's an OTC can allow a temporary volume increase, which equates to better endurance and body comp changes, and might prepare you for breaking through plateaus. I think it is fun as hell and will be about as close to a cycle that I will run.

You have to take into account that you've been beating the crap out of your body for the past month or more as well. I hate to do it myself, but sometimes after this kind of push a deload is needed, may even see another jump in strength after a week or two deloading on the intensity and volume. That being said nobody knows how your body reacts to these situations better than you do.

Top 5 and not one product is his own, honest to a fault I see lol.

My goal is to help guys reach their goals and to give real factual information whatever that may be.
Id never lie to sell a product.

Our products are very good but I would certainly use the staples first and along with any anabolic supplements.
Health is more important than muscle. I learned that the hard way.

I deload every 7-8 weeks. I appreciate someone understanding the importance of this in growth and progress, though. So props to you as many people will never get it.

I recently learned that leucine and isoleucine compete with each other. Kinda takes the thunder out of BCAA's. Regardless, they're still better than no aminos.

:) :)

Endurance is still there 8 days off. Top end lifts are back to pre FD logging. Weight is coming down. I weighed in at 209 this morning.

I woke up and hit the gym at 5:30 this morning.

BB Bench
135 x 12
225 x 10
275 x 5
295 x 2
315 x 1
225 x 14

Incline DB
65 x 12
85 x 8
95 x 6
105 x 4
65 x 12

pushups
50 x 6

Weighted dips
15 x 45lb
10 x 45 + 25lb
30 x bw

Sled push
50yd x 6 w/ 4x 45lb

Then my wife went to her bootcamp/CF class and asked if I would do a drop in and reluctantly agreed. I am almost embarrassed to say that I did a walk in and came in second only to the instructor in time. Of course it allowed me to gloat and say that they shouldn't close their minds to what can be accomplished in a "globo gym"

That workout was 21/15/9 of each in a circuit.
Thruster (a front squat that ends in an OHP)
situps
pushups
rope climb (Short 15')

I am freaking dead tired, but I can safely say that I am not seeing a decrease in endurance yet. I mean, I am not giving all credit to FD because I am the one doing it, but I don't think I would normally have agreed to a CF class after just coming back from the gym.

Yeah man, we were all seeing it. "oh man, I killed myself in the gym today...can't wait to see how I can top it tomorrow!" haha
