Tips for first show in 9 days

Hey everyone.

My first show is in 9 days. I'm fairly happy with my conditioning at this point. I caliper tested at 4% two days ago but i don't think its 100% accurate as i didnt do my back. I just used the standard metacal test. I'm pretty lean to say the least. Ive got a coach whose helping me - especially with progress support and my diet. In the last week, he thinks i'll be suited to a one day carb up (day before) while im dropping water. The three days prior to that I will only consume lean protein such as fish.

Hes been helping me for free (he owns my gym) but may not be able to make it on the day with me due to other commitments with his son - he may have to take him away for rep-football. Hes fairly sure he will be able to make it but cant commit 100%. Just in case, has anyone got any tips for what i do pre comp or a good pump up routine? If he cant make it I will take a friend back stage with me to keep me focused.

Any advice is appreciated.

Post up some pics

My comp was ****ed up the timing was really off. What show you doing?

Im doing INBA (Australia)
I thought I was doing Physique but found out with a week left they are only doing fitness (the guy who i asked about did not explain this too me as I told him i wanted physque. However ive already paid and done a comp prep so I might as well do it. It was a bit of a set back considering id trained for physique and been practicing all my poses for a month out and have to redo learn them in the last week.

I'll post up some pics when I get a chance tomorrow. I'll be 4 days out.

My plan is to
low carb tomorrow
no carb thursday (protein only)
No carb Friday (protein only)
Carb up Saturday -also limiting water severly
* Show day Carb up Sunday - limiting water intake again

Any tips on sodium manipulation?

I had diarrhea last week and was limiting salt. Afterwards, while still sprinting and training intensly each day, I lost a lot of vascularity and definition. However I accidentally ate a lot of salt yesterday (a steak and 6 kangaroo burger patties) and started feeling really full and vascular again. So i ate the same food again and today was looking great - people were staring again and ****.. my chest looked fantastic (strations from top to bottom).. I also had veins from the bottom of abs to the top of my ribs, joining up with my back and lat veins about 10 mins ago.

Feeling good!
Makes me wonder If i should bother manipulating salt or just keep doing what I am doing?

If it's working keep doing it

Just drop it day before IMO. Then I wouldn't even do the carb up man

I'd hit a fatty meat with food salt and have that to fill you out.

My mistake was listening to other people with regards to carb up. My body reacts well to filet mignon and salt.

I don't get those "pumps" from carbs.

My vascularity shows faster and I look more dense from fats.

PM me we can chat via text so we can get **** right for you

Hey Guys,

Here are some photos taken yesterday - It took a fair few shots, my camera wouldn't f*cking focus haha.
My obliques are more obvious than what is in the photos - i even checked with my coach (to make sure i didnt think i looked better than i did). My camera isnt too great evidently.

Anyway, here they are.

I don't play the sodium or the depletion game anymore. I changed basically nothing until the midnight before my pre-judging last show.

That said, you have a coach for a reason. Too many cook ruin the stew, or something like that. My coach lives across the country from me and I don't attend all of my clients' events. That's what texting pics are for.

Bring bands and/or light DBs to the event. I generally pump up shortly after a small carb meal with a higher rep upper body circuit. Use the mirror to gauge what needs to be done.

Hey Guys,

Sorry for no response. Ive had very limited internet access latley.

I ended up comming 4th (out of 12). I'd argue i should have come third at the very least. I am the one in the white and blue quicksilver shorts. In the first picture the person on my right (on the right of me in the picture>or on my left hand side if you were on stage) came third. I was not pleased but what can you do.

Either way for my first comp I think I did pretty damn good, and came in in great shape.

I'm confused, if that's not physique what's up with the shorts??

Either way though you should hold your head HIGH bro! You stuck to your plan and made it to the stage which a lot of people can't say, myself included. Cracking top 5 for a first competition is an acheivement. Now you know what you need to work on to kill the next one!

Nice work you look shredded! You can be proud with 4th... that's however many places above the rest of the contestants. Bust ass harder next year to improve rank!
