Sean's Powerlifting Journey

530/290/650 raw raw raw

It's the weekend after my strongman meet, so not sure how I'll fair

WOW, very nice. Don't you weigh around 200? That's downright godly.

Quality website.

That, an iPad and a screen protector and cleaner is all you need. Many late-night, cheap dates had, with women from around the globe.

Alright, enough of my smuttin' up this log of yours, boss.

Lol thanks, but not quit god mode yet. 198er

I was 207 this morning after all you can eat Brazilian steakhouse last night, dem meat-sweats.

Yum, Argentinian and Brazilian steakhouses! Big fan.

If I can fix this shoulder of mine, maybe I will try to drop to 150 and hit 1200 as a goal. I don't have these freakish DLs and squats like you guys. Ah, the DLs are likely a recipe for injury given my severe elbow and grip issues because of ulnar nerve damage; that's why I stopped. Nevermind me. Just trying to hang with dudes, feel like a man, lol.

I'd call 1500 at your age and weight pretty damn godly. But yeah, no capital "G" as I am no blasphemer. Google that Sean, lol.

Sean, what is happening in that picture? Do you have a band around your thigh pulling up with a plate on leg? Do you have a video?

It's easier than the normal frog stretch for me. The frog stretch takes some pain and time to get my hips closer to the ground. I'd much rather lay on my back and play with my phone.

Jinxie, you show great verisimilitude.

Take that word, mother ****er! I even think I used it in the sentence correctly.

At this point, a mere facsimile of the man I was.

Nice work there, muscles. ;) That's one of those words I dont use because it's too hard to pronounce, and thus not a part of my repertoire.

Okay, I've digressed again. Working, and don't want to be. This is funner. :)

By the way, where the hell is Gokix?

Whoaaa first time seeing the frog stretch. That looks like something I want to try.

Yep, too late to change now.

Sounds good. I'll be eating a box of Texas toast and box of spaghetti here in a bit...

I'll be doing some sort of hip thrust following sumo pulls for now on. Felt great on the hips.

Big-ass carb session the night before the meet and don't carb until you start warming up for squats, maybe?

Nice pulling. I agree with everyone on not fixing things that blah blah you know lol

Like them do u? I got to have a lot of extra pad thou ****ers hurt

How were the shoes?

Do you ever eat carbs before training now?

I don't think I'd eat them before if I'm not used to it /don't see a difference in performance, but I do. Especially before heavy compound lifts.

I'd just carb up pretty heavy the last few nights before, same timing as usual.

If I train fasted in the AM, I'll have some carbs post-wo and not again till dinner. That's the only time during the day.

I don't typically train fasted, a rare occassion. Though when/if I do, and only in the early morning, that is when I'll have daytime carbs, post workout. Other than that, I normally have +100g of protein in me and a good amount of fat when I train early afternoon, and then have carbs later on. At work, I eat dinner, then train.

I'll continue CBL into the meet and eat my normal stuff and maybe some Gatorade.

I took the train fasted once and they had pretzel stand and I was like "sweet!" And then like an ******* I fell asleep with the pretzel and lost half of it. Never train fasted.

Took an easy full ROM 275, and an easy 300 to a 2-Board. I've found a tender spot that I think prevented my forearms from remaining upright, and the Gratson has definetly allowed to maintain a stable shoulder girdle.

I never grasped onto the cue "spread the bar" I understand it, but never correctly applied it. I would just focus on spreading my hands, and it just felt off. Today, I felt myself spread the bar using my lats, not my hands, if that makes sense. So my new cue is: "spread the bar with your lats".

I wish my handoffs were further over my chest, but still thankful I had someone there to help out.

I had a butt lift with 275, but found a better position for my legs with 300, but still had a little lift.

My right AC didn't hurt at all. Only felt some irritation with certain angled pullaparts. Once I did external rotations and got blood in there, it felt much better. My left AC had some pressure on it, but my scapula felt in position. Before, it would be offset, and I couldn't lock that arm out.

I'll press in the meet, but will lay off pressing again for a few more weeks afterwards again. I've successfully maintained my pressing strength without pressing via working everything else out (Toro mentioned that a while back).

Thought?

Best benching yet, even if the weight isn't the heaviest you've handled.

It honestly felt the best. Thanks Toro. My lats are cramped bad though lol

Edit: Actually, it's the most I've 'successfully' handled without the use of any supported device. Anything raw above 3 was a fail lol

The "spread the bar" cue is one of the last that everyone truly picks up. Thinking outside of the hands seems to make it a little easier, but most don't have great lat M-M connection.

My thought is that is awesome you were able to still do that without benching much. I also like the new que. I sometimes have trouble with spreading the bar/bending the bar. Especially at heavy weights.

Awesome work Sean

It's only taken me over a year to feel the connection lol

What a world of difference though. My back pulled tight and it felt like a spring.

I'm tempted to get a second bottle of Nerve Restore.

I'm about to pop open the second bottle. I haven't trained since Wednesday as I went on a much deserved vacation. I'm hitting it back today.

I'll part with my Nike Romaleos 2 for $120 including shipping. Size 10.5

Price might be negotiable if you throw in nudes and/or supplements.

They can be shipped today by 3pm EST, or Friday.

If no bites today from you guys, I'll bring the offer to the rest of the forum tonight.

And I'm still thinking of a game plan for my bench press.

This weekend, maybe 275/300 to 1-board/315 to 2-board?

I might be gettin ahead of myself..

I don't mind it. Looks exactly like shirted meet prep, could be what you need. Just monitor it closely.

Will do. That. was posted before we sexted. I'll see how it's feeling this weekend.

Yeah I wouldn't be afraid in the gym or at the meet to tell someone to take it on the way down or while it's on your chest/boards.

Ghey.

I vote lay off the pressing.

I wish you had Romaleos in 12-12.5. Thanks for nothing.

That is all. ,,|,,
