Dave's Newest bulk into cut for show. AAS, SLIN and GH

<img src="http://anabolicminds.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=98650"/> Little leg shot. My symmetry isn't off I just can't dig my foot in and flex that leg from my injury lol. I think you get the point *edit* I can't wait to drop this water. My coach has me staying a little wet and increasing sodium because of how fast I shed water. I dry out in hours if I'm not careful

Hows the ankle dave?

Look at that sexy hamstring separation... I'm awesome

Hey dave, what does an ab workout of yours usually look like?

I focus a lot on maintaining a vacuum during cardio and a very tight core for all my lifts.

I avoid a lot of crunching and ab work because I need to maintain a small waistline.

But on leg day I hit 50 leg raises

On chest/shoulders I finish with this
Leg raise x15
Bench side crunch x10/side
Decline sit-up x10
30 second rest and then repeat 5 times

I find squatting and dead lifting as much as I do that core work isn't really necessary. Cardio is great to. Just walk for 5-10 minutes while holding a vacuum.

Thanks man! You can never learn enough when it comes to training and diet IMO!

Never bro. It took me and my coach about 2 months to figure the best ab routine for me. I have symmetrical abs that have deep cuts. What he had me to was lots of hanging leg raises to help seperate them more to make them "pop" you see the separation very nice now in a front lat spread or front double bi. VERY heavy cable crunches at about 10 reps for 3-4 sets 2 times a week works well for most to make them peak and get that deep cut. Too many people forget to do a stretch movement like hanging leg raises. It's essential to get that deep cut, seperate and peak them. Just flexing them is enough for some people.

Find what works for you.

I was gonna post a picture of my truck on here but don't have any atm...

'89 CK1500, slightly lowered, small block 350 (TBI), 70s Chevy wheels, black, black bed cover, tinted Windows, and a '94 front end (because it looks better).

I'll get one tomorrow if I remember.

Holy crap just got done reading all 138 pages today, crazy thread, some great info on well... everything. Looking phenom, looking forward to seeing how you look on stage and what you learn from your first show.

I always couple my heavy crunches with hanging leg raises, love it! More great info from dD!

Same. This has become my go-to ab combo as of the last month or so. Hurts so good all over

Dd, how do you walk and hold a vacuum for five minutes? Are you just taking very shallow breaths?

I suck in my stomach and breath with my chest. You should hold your gut in and feel your chest expand when you breath

thanks. Is this just practice for your vacuum on stage or do your abs get solid work out of them

Crunching and flexing them does wonders. I can't attribute a whole lot to creating a vacuum because some has to do with, diet, cardio, ab work etc etc so it's hard to really attribute progress to a particular thing. But I do believe it helps.

Well I have a confession, I tense my transversus andominis virtually the entire time I'm at the beach or a pool party. It's honestly not hard with practice tho and makes ur core look much better

doesnt planking work the transverse abdominis as well??

Yes but not to the degree that a vacuum will. The vacuum directly targets the transverse. The plank targets it as well as all abdominals, obliques and serratus. It's essential just laying down an flexing in my eyes. Fuk that I will hold an overhead abdominal/thigh pose instead.

Ahh ok cool I'll keep that in mind for when I start working abs lol. I'm kind of like you in that respect, my abs get worked by heavy deads, squats, SOHP etc I loathe working abs directly.

Everyone's core gets used when working out most other body parts, or at least should. There are few exercises when I don't tighten my core.
